We don't say " I went to shopping." We say "I went shopping." Because, the verb went is followed by the gerund "shopping" without the prepostion "to". 2. We don't say " I am looking for a shoes." Because, the article "a" is used for singular nouns and it is incorrect to apply it to a plural noun "shoes".
