    We got a B. Great grandad bought it new in 1939, to replace a team of horses. It's sitting out in the barn right now, still runs, never been off the farm.

    Woah!!! Original Farmall commercial for the B Outstanding!!! My Grandpa had a 44 B "Culti-Vision" huge rear end with 9-24 rear & 5.00-15 just massive... wish i could find another one! The B always was the "oddball" of the family.

    Back in 1972, my stepdad and I restored a 1945 BN, which is the slightly narrower version of the B. We stuck a 59-inch Woods belly mower under it and used to to mow the 3+ acres until 2020, when I had to let it go. I loved sitting on that old tractor.

    The Farmall B is a neat little tractor and a good little tractor, but the C is even better.

    Oh how that glorious time has passed us.

      Back in the days when people knew the difference between plural and possessive case.

  • @thecollectoronthecorner7061

    My father had a B and our middle son actually drove it in the hay fields raking hay when he was 5 years old. Unfortunately I wasnt able to get it from my fathers estate. However Last year I bought a derelict B that was in a fence row at a auction for $100. needs everything. It rained down the exhaust and froze and broke the cylinders from the inside. However its a wet sleeve engine and the block was drained and petcock open so the block is still good.

    My dad had one back in the late 70's, but it had 2 tires in front( close together) plus a crank start that would try to break his arm. Neat lil tractor.

    Always wanted a BN, they were the perfect size and horsepower for playing around the house. The A always seemed the pick of most and another great tractor

    That tracking cultivator setup was pretty neat but never did think too much about crooked rows. Should leave the drinking till after the planting's done. That tracking setup didn't help at 6:16 when he wipes out one of the stakes.

    Thanks for sharing. I've been looking for something like this on CZcams with little success. I wonder if they ever did one for the BN?

      As of now, I haven't been able to find any for the BN. I would like to find some ads for it though to go along with our 1945 BN.

      I remember sitting on the axle to the left of my Dad on the model B in 1954 i believe. It wasn't the main tractor on the farm but a very nice utility tractor.

    • @tyfrank3427
      @tyfrank3427 Před rokem

      They are a fun little tractor. The C is what ultimately replaced the B. The C is built like the H and M and the B is the same as the A with a couple of notable exceptions: The left rear axle is extended as far as the right on the B, and the B uses a narrow front and the A uses a wide front. We had one at one time. They really turn short. But the B is mechanically identical to the A other than that.

    Whoever claims to ride any open cab tractor all day without a sore back or arms, is damned liar. Not just a liar, but a damned one. I have used, farmall's, John Deere's, Masey's and even Belarus's tractor and never once did I get off one after a full days work not feeling like I just ran the Boston marathon after going a few rounds with rocky balboa. Don't get me wrong, it takes me back but man so do the memories of the sore muscles and just plain out pain.

      Possibly you simply are not tough enough. I operated a B JD all day when I was 7. We got a H farmall when I was 10. started running a cat dozer in my teens. Ran dozers from daylight till dark. Drove old cab over semis with walking beam suspension a million miles. Im 70 and still use old equiptment and bale small square bales and put them in the barn all by myself. No brag just fact. Of course im Swede and German. My great grandfather Planted 20 acres of corn with a green broke pair if 3 year old Belgans when he was 92. Dont believe me just come and follow in my tracks for a day.

    • @tyfrank3427
      @tyfrank3427 Před rokem +1

      Yeah but imagine how sore you would be walking behind horse drawn implements all day.

      @@thecollectoronthecorner7061 I wouldn't say I'm not tough enough, maybe not acustomed, but seeing as how I just retired after 26 years of being a professional firefighter and Paramedic, I'd say I have stayed pretty fit my entire life, worked has always demanded it. In those years, I have been operating our family farm for the past 22 years and can put work most any of the temporary help we have hired in the past, and they are always decades younger than me.

      I drove a John Deere 730 for over 100 hours per week pulling a pea combine for six straight weeks. No back problems at all.

    The original doesn't have the fake tractor sounds and awful banjo music in the background.
