  • Streams of non-polar liquid and polar liquids will be subjected to static electricity. One of those liquid will bend as an electrostatic charged rod is placed near the liquid. A nice application and real meaning to non polar molecules.

That was a good demonstration. I feel like i have further understood molecular polarity. Thank you!

One application could be to enable electron transfer to convert contaminants in the water into free electrons? What would happen to the nuclei though?

for the water, is the opposite possible? with the water being pushed away from the rod?

If the static electric charge is composed of negative electrons, which chemicals should be deflected more, polar or non polar?

Do non-polar solvents generate a charge as they flow?

Not sure if I understand your question. Do you mean a magnetic field?

MrGrodskiChemistry when non polar solvent flow through a tube or pipe and electric charge tends to build up. Is there a way to measure this?

So is the cat fur on the glass rod negatively charged and tge water positively charge. Thats why they attract. Leaving cert chemistry here😂
