An equity strategies are investment strategies either for an individual portfolio or a vehicle of pooled funds such as Mutual funds or hedge funds. This strategy has a focus exclusively on equity securities for the purpose of investment, whether it is a listed stock, over-the-counter stocks or private equity shares.
Active equity management approaches can be generally divided into two groups: fundamental (also referred to as discretionary) and quantitative (also known as systematic or rules-based). Fundamental approaches stress the use of human judgment in arriving at an investment decision, whereas quantitative approaches stress the use of rules-based, quantitative models to arrive at a decision.
The main differences between fundamental and quantitative approaches include the following characteristics: approach to the decision-making process (subjective versus objective); forecast focus (stock returns versus factor returns); information used (research versus data); focus of the analysis (depth versus breadth); orientation to the data (forward looking versus backward looking); and approach to portfolio risk (emphasis on judgment versus emphasis on optimization techniques).
Quantitative equity investment strategies often use factor-based models. A factor-based strategy aims to identify significant factors that drive stock prices and to construct a portfolio with a positive bias towards such factors.

I really like how she is the representation of woman in roles of power. The world needs more. However the world is also lacking average people in roles of power. I doubt a working person will ever achieve these types of positions... She came from a family where probably financial issues or social issues were her last problems in mind. She started off in a management role right off school?... most people start from the very bottom. Really hard to take in this interview and apply it to my own life. Though is fun to see rich people talk about their lives.

I'm currently in a 6 month equity research internship at a small boutique, it's been 4 days. wondered how exactly should I structure my day to genereate maximum efficiency, because at the moment I spend the day 8- 5, reading a whole bunch of different articles and stuff I find alone, I have been given no set structure or layout for what duties I'm supposed to do, I kind of just have to read and ask questions when I feel like it, and I'm just getting really overwhelmed because I don't know how to filter our what's important and because I have no set structure or duties and basically have to create my own, I just don't know what I'm even doing, I spend hours googling questions i have and googling macro and mieconomics and fundamental analysis everyday but there's no program for the internship, what do I do, I'm just really frustrated and I just feel like I'm using so much time and energy and getting minimum efficiency and effectiveness, I spend rhe whole day on my laptop to look and appear busy but truthfully I feel like I'm making no progress and I spend most of the time digesting unnecessary information because i dont knwo what's importatnt and not, please help 😔

I’m sure you will eventually create your own structure. I am interested in equity research (although I have not had any luck landing internships) but reading through published equity research reports can help you find some structure.
