wow that polycrystal was so amazing
I literally stole some of my school’s material to do this xD
So do i, my copper sulfate are stien from my school, haha
You can buy it in gardening stores (root killer), it's cheap AF, no need to steal from your poor school :q
Go to battery shop and buy some H2So4 and make some that's easy.. 😂
Online 1 pound is just 3 dollars lol
Better to save money than spend it right?
With these great videos you should have 120M subscribers I've watched 5 videos of yours continuously
Thx soooo much. This was amazing!
What difference is there between the processes needed to make single crystals and polycrystals? Need to know thx
I’m pretty sure you just use a higher concentration of copper sulfate making it want to grow faster in other directions
- "Mom i am going to play with toxic crystals!"
- "Sure honey just come back for dinner"
PitsuMiwus rip kid
LOL
Lol
My mom lets me play with them. Also they aren’t toxic
Just opposite will happen😂😂😂
I still love this video. I realllly love the ones you made. They're so beautiful.
+ashley011514 thank you for support, more videos about crystal growing will coming

I think this will help my daughter alot with her crystal project thnk u
When you fiilter the solution each week do you need to add more copper sulphate to the solution or just carry on as it is
From the videos you like I thought this might interest you, I went to their internet site and found some pretty fantastic things.
Ya I found out some things too. Like if you hold a copper sulfate crystal in your hand for longer than 20 seconds it starts burning your skin. Also, if you accidentally drop a crystal on the floor, it will shatter. Hope you clean that really well, before the dog licks it, or missing pieces are injested by children.
The polycrystal looks cool
If you dissolve more solute into a hot saturated solution of copper sulfate then put the crystal back into the super saturated solution it will grow much faster. Mine got to the size of my hand just in 2-3 weeks, and I am still growing it in a large pickle jar
I love it such a beautiful blue crystal
+Archana Sen me too, i have grow some red crystal and green crystal as well, i will share the video later
omg its so beautiful
this is amazing
Thank You!
Mine was very cloudy when I did it. I stirred a lot, should I keep going
Say you get a big tray instead of a beaker and a lot more solution, will the crystals that form at the bottom of the tray keep growing as long as you keep reviving the solution?
Hello, I'm going to make some crystals of copper sulphate, but I'm worried if they do not form crystals on the bottom ... Advice?
Hello, I'm totally new with making crystal. Can I reheat instead of filter the solution once a week?
yesterday as i finished some coper sulphate solution i filted it heated it and got crystal instantly as it cooled. i made more today and cant get it to crystal again what am i doing wrong
is it possible to crystallize the excess copper sulfate from the solution
THIS IS AMAZING
A layer of crystals did not form. Is it because like the temperature is warmer where I live
Amazing work, just beautiful! Thanks for sharing!
Why do you need to filter the solutio before putting the crystel seed in there?
beautiful .
do they grow into molds? like fill a test tube?
Beautiful, the poly crystal looks like a Christmas tree kind of!!
why do i need to leave the filtered solution undisturbed?
hey dude, what kind of cloth you use to filter the solution?
In which wire they got seed to grow was that copper wire??
After you have created a crystal, will it dissolve again? I want to make several large ones to put into my aquarium.
I have a question. Do we get a larger crystal with a single crystal or with a polycrystalline? 🤔
How long can you leave this in its solution? How big can they grow?
Tysm this video helps me a lot
How you foremd the crystal to a polycrystal
Is it safe to make jewelery out of these singel crystals??
Could we use regular table salt?
Poly crystal looks great
how long can this crystal last
Expliquer la formation dune couche solide sur les parois du bécher?
do you have to resaturate the solution before/after each filtering?
+Mike McDonald no
Thanks
We made them in second yr but we stoped after they formed . We didnt grow them bigger . Unfortunatly
How can I treat the after use liquid
I love crystals
does it matter if you "add the water" to the copper sulfate or do you have to "add the copper sulfate" to the water....
i tried the "super saturated polycrystal method" but after 2 to 3 hours there is nothing still, but I added the water into the powder, we'll wait 24hrs to see, I guess
Is it possible to dissolve fluorescent pigments inside?
I buy a brand called zepp I believe it is. Its like a pond cleaner or something its been a long while since ive used copper sulfate but in the USA a quick google search will yield this product. Ive found it in menards and Lowes but I'm sure home depot probably carries it. The zepp brand copper sulfate is the purest. Nice chunky blue crystals. Other brands are a lighter blue which maybe lower purity but it could be different amount of water of crystallization idk.
Can I use only copper sulfate?
Do I HAVE TO filter it ?....
Hi I'm trying to make the CuSO4 crystal now, but I have a question: How do you remove the thread (used to hang the cystal seed) from the grown crystal?Looks like it's contained in the growing crystal, and I think i'll destroy the crystal if I pull it out.
you should use a very thin fishing line as the thread, so that you no need to pull it out
I didn't understand.....how will fishing thread help
So you can cut it off and it wont be seen inside the crystal
I suppose you can try burning off the string if you have a stub, but I’m not sure how it will affect the crystal itself
If the crystal contacts with heat, the heat will disolve the water, and the crystal starts to turn white, but then you can make it blue again with several methods
Quel type de nucléation. responsable de la formation des cristeaux dans le premier bécher?
we're gonna have summer holidays now so I will make it in the holidays and show it to the teachers and my friends in 9th grade...
Is there a way to prevent it from dissolving after the crystals come in contact with water?
thats why we use nail polish to make it water proof
when u finish using a crystal seed can u use another one n the same solution?
Yes
Don't think so cos the dissolved copper sulphate is crystalised on the string so there is less in the solution
Why nail polish? Does it melt if you touch it or is it toxic?
I put more water than needed and i do not have enough CuSO4. can i do anything to get the copper sulfate powder back and redo the experiment again? because i do not have more hydrous copper sulphate
Boil it down. Or just leave it out and the water will slowly evaporate.
Can someone please help me the crystals didn't grow what should i do?
I am goin to try this but do you have to cut the fishing line off when it is ready??
yes, but no. The fishing line will still be on the inside of the crystal, no matter. But yes, because otherwise you'd have a crystal on a line
Well it is a cool color for sure.
+Matthew Suffidy i like this color too
That is a lot of copper sulfate! I have made it before and the largest one was only maybe an inch.
Do you keep reusing the same solution for 6 weeks? just filter it? what about evaporation? help please. :)
Does ambient temperature of the solution affectvthevrate of crystal growth? Can you manipulate the shape of crystal by introducing a strong magnetic field? Thanks, cool video.
Theoretically a magnetic field can affect the Cu2+(copper) and SO42- (sulfate) ions in the solution, but to make visible manipulations to the shape you'd need an extremely strong magnetic field, if it does work at all.
You said the crystal can be kept for a long time...please explain what happens and how long a long time is?
I have tried it but there is no formation of crystals
Why do you need to filter the solution?
What's the difference in procedure for the poly crystal vs the single crystal besides the concentration of the copper (II) sulfate solution?
Yes, concentration for copper sulfate is higher when i grow ploycrystal
Could it be copper sulfate with factory purity ? Or it has to be analytic purity ?
Saul Henandez 96% purity or higher at least, but the higher it is the clearer your crystals get.
where did you get the crystal powder to start off with
+Tony G u can buy it from amazon
What is alum?
Can u do these things with borax
wait why do we need to paint it with nail polish? and is it still toxic when crystallized?
For protection , you can touch it with bare hand then
yo i have a kit at home and it said to do the same thing cool right
aohhhhh (:
Pourquoi procéde-t-on à la dissolution du sulfate de cuivre en poudre à chaud?
What happens if you dont paint them afterwards? Do they just wear away?
It’s to protect from moisture
Were i can buy poland
Is there a way of suspending the seed crystal in solution without tethering it (solutions with differing densities or something)? It would be nice to grow a pure crystal without the nylon embedded in it. You achieved some descent sized crystals though. The spinning display is a nice touch too! I planned on using a bottom-lit LED display, but didn't think of a spinning platform...until now of course :)
If your able to only suspend the tip of the seed in the solution this would hopefully stop it engulfing the string
Wonderful video, I really like its colour and shape, just one question, is copper sulfate flammable?
No. It is not.
Aisha Kuri I’m scared to know why you are asking
Nope but corrosive when mixed w other chemicals
Is it possible for the salt to be a different color or can you die the water?
Next question if you leave it out for longer will it get bigger?
No its not. Its not the water that gives it its color. Its the copper sulfate. Copper sulfate crystals are blue. You cant just die it another color.
Will be trying this right now (but with 100ml instead of 200ml) could any complications form?
You can also use 100ml
Where can I buy Copper II Sulfate?
Till I don't understand how to make single and how to make Polly crystal what is difference please someone tell me
With the single crystal, how do you remove the string after it has grown bigger?
You cut it off i guess
What kind of filter does he use? All I've used in my HS chemistry lab before is coffee filters. Any suggestions for a cheap but effective addition to my lab?
I just use cheap filter in the lab
what is the difference between in the preparation of a single crystal and polycrystal......please answer
+Jaspint Kaur single crystal grow in saturated solution and polycrystal grow in super saturated solution
i cant buy the blue stuff at walmart so how
No u can not this is not a common chemical
so cool
Will Cooper 2+ Sulphate on its own still work?
Yes
The experience is beautiful but where are the copper sulphate blue
would it be possible for these to grab a shape? like if i put the seed in some kind of mold?
Unfortunately, it isn't possible as crystallization is highly unpredictable, even with a mold there would always be unfilled empty spaces which would ruin the molded shape in the first place.
That would be dope af girl.
that crystal is so cool~ I want to make it too!
You can ;)
Do you have to reheat the solution after filtering?
No
What should I do with the solution once I am done the experiment, is it ok if i throw it into the drainaje????
@vanlalhriata None so what should I do??
What will happen if I put the seed and let it sink instead of hanging it with fishing line?
It will stick on the bottom of the glass
What kind of store sells these kinds of materials?!
A pharmacy
THAT amazing
Thx
is it possible to grow a crystal whit out filtering the solution?
+alireza ta filtering solution gives best result, but you can just pour out the solution to another new breaker and leave the crystal in the bottom
Hello. Very new to crystal growing, but really love it. I tried following your experiment and was very careful about using exact measurements, distilled water, and following your steps to a T. My solution is not crystalizing though.
There are some kind of tan-ish granules that are collecting at the bottom of my solution. Almost looks like sand. I filtered them off and let it sit another 24hours, but now there is more sand-like stuff and no crystal growth though the water is evaporating.
I did not order my copper (II) sulfate through your link. Is it possible my sulfate is contaminated? Is there something else I may be doing wrong?
Thank you for any advice you can give me. I want to grow one of these beauties for a good friend's 30th.
Yeah it sounds like your copper sulfate might be impure, maybe try buying from somewhere else or like you did try purifying it more
That sand you removed were the small copper sulphate crystals yet to grow more. Its just like the process of seeding but naturally. Other than that u might have not filtered the solution properly which may result in getting powdered type of copper sulphate.
Another chance is that u didn't heat the solution till 1/3rd of the solution is evaporated.
