    Review of umarex ppq .177 pellet co2 pistol, including a power test and shot count showing the
    declining power.
    The Walther PPQ .177 CO2 Air Pistol is a popular airgun manufactured by Umarex under license from Carl Walther GmbH Sportwaffen. It is designed to closely resemble the Walther PPQ centerfire pistol, known for its ergonomic design and reliability. Here are some key features and details about the Walther PPQ .177 CO2 Air Pistol:
    1. **Caliber**: The Walther PPQ .177 CO2 Air Pistol fires .177 caliber pellets or BBs. It uses 12-gram CO2 cartridges as a power source.
    2. **Magazine Capacity**: It typically comes with a magazine that can hold 8 rounds of .177 pellets or BBs. The magazine is usually a drop-free design for easy reloading.
    3. **Blowback Action**: This air pistol often features a blowback action, which means the slide moves back and forth with each shot, providing a realistic feel and mimicking the slide cycling of a real firearm.
    4. **CO2 Power**: The air pistol is powered by 12-gram CO2 cartridges, which are usually loaded into the grip. CO2 provides consistent power and allows for multiple shots before needing a new cartridge.
    5. **Safety Mechanisms**: It typically includes safety features such as a manual safety switch and a trigger safety to prevent accidental discharges.
    6. **Sights**: The pistol often comes equipped with fixed front and rear sights for aiming. Some models might have adjustable sights for improved accuracy.
    7. **Accessories**: Some versions of the Walther PPQ .177 CO2 Air Pistol may come with accessory rails, allowing you to attach accessories like lights or lasers.
    8. **Realism**: One of the selling points of this air pistol is its realistic look and feel, making it a popular choice for training, plinking, or recreational shooting.
    9. **Velocity**: The velocity of the pellets or BBs fired from this air pistol can vary depending on the model and the type of ammunition used. It's important to check the specifications for the specific model you are interested in.
    10. **CO2 Cartridge Efficiency**: The number of shots you can get from a single 12-gram CO2 cartridge will depend on factors like temperature and how quickly you shoot, but you can generally expect multiple magazines worth of shots before needing to replace the CO2 cartridge.
    Please note that there might be variations and different models of the Walther PPQ .177 CO2 Air Pistol with slightly different features and specifications. Before purchasing, it's a good idea to check the manufacturer's website or product listing for the most up-to-date information on the specific model you are interested in. Additionally, always follow safety guidelines and local laws when using airguns.

    Got the CP99 myself. Great pellet pistols for sure. The DA-trigger though is a bit way heavy on that one too.

      Yes, I think any da trigger takes a bit of practice to get some smooth shooting. Thanks for watching.

    Hi can you get a cheap adapter so its like a sub machine gun style. Or just attach something on the handle to make it longer (to the shoulder)

    If you used alloy pellets do yuou think it would raise the velocity enuff to be for self defense?

    • @ShootfishProductions
      @ShootfishProductions  Před 3 lety +4

      Raising the velocity by using a lighter pellet would not increase the foot-pound. The power is a combination of pellet weight and velocity. Using a heavier pellet may be better, but better still would be to use more "damaging" ammunition. Check out what pellets are available, and you would probably want some pointed ones.. It is illegal in the u.k. to defend yourself, especially with a weapon of any kind, and we cannot recommend doing so. BUT, if the shit hits the fan and all you have is a pellet gun, it's better than nothing. We will get a pellet selection and do some power and damage tests in a future video. Thanks for watching, and for your question.

      No it won't these pistols are a great way to practice but to use it for self defense isn't a good idea if you can't get a real firearm for that you'd be better off using pepper spray

    As far as the Taiwan made umarex pistols go, the m&p 45 beats the ppq, hands down. That being said, I own the 92fs, 1911, cp88 and cp99 german made umarex pistols and aside from some slightly (and I mean slightly) lesser accuracy at 10 yards compared to the colt/beretta/cp88, the cp99 fits my hand and feels the best. It's the one I shoot the most.
    I wish Unarex would come back out with the desert eagle pellet, but non blowback and a more metal design. That or the HK p30 with out the BB nonsense.

      Hi Alex. If you are in the u.k. the law is pretty strict concerning any sort of gun, including air guns. Dont ever take an airgun outside of your premises without a valid reason, or you will face a mandatory 5 year sentence as the law considers airguns as firearms when used illegally. In a zombie apocalypse scenario, if thats all you could get your hands on then its better than nothing. Unless you hit an eye, allthough it would hurt it would unlikely penetrate even a thin jacket unless very close. You could stun or alarm an attacker to give you time to escape the situation. Other than that, its probably not the best choice for self defence. Thanks for watching.

      @@ShootfishProductions yeah I understand, I'd never take it out with me, it wouldn't leave my house. Dog crime is on the rise and I know there are some sick individuals who would try to break in for them. It's more if there was an intruder. I love my dogs! Touch wood that would never happen!
      Thanks for your reply, much appreciated. Take care.

    Is this a replica or just a normal gun?

    • @ShootfishProductions
      @ShootfishProductions  Před 3 lety

      It's based on a real gun, very similar to the real thing. It does not have a slide though as it's not a blowback gun.

    Just got the Smith and Wesson M 29 for the price point I’m really happy I got a whole bunch of free stuff with it I’m in USA I’m getting a good 550 ft./s I don’t know what the foot pounds are but it’s one heck of a piece I was looking at this one the USA version says it shoots 420 something feet per second at 229 might be worth adding to my collection for an accurate low-end replica take care

      @ShootfishProductions  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for watching from across the pond. They now do a blowback version of the ppq. With the blowback cocking the hammer, would probably make it nicer to shoot and more accurate.

    You had a lot to say about the gun---and I really wanted to hear about it----but your voice was sooo low and the background noise was sooo high---I couldn't hear ANYTHING WORTHWHILE!! You need to SPEAK LOUDER NEXT TIME!!!!!

      It's the nature of the beast. Gas cartridge cools down when liquid CO2 boils to gas, and the pressure is affected by the temperature. It's the same thing with all CO2 guns: the faster you shoot, the faster the velocity drops. If you take a break it climbs up again.

  • @chopmoptactical2109
    @chopmoptactical2109 Před 2 lety

    Very weak pistol...average decent velocity of a co2 gun is 400fps this thing dips down to 270fps after 20 shots thats horrible you better off with a slingshot ....great looks thats it

    • @ShootfishProductions
      @ShootfishProductions  Před 2 lety

      Youre right, a slingshot is more powerfull.

      Aside from printing paper/targets at 10/7 yards or meters, what had you planned on using this for?
      This isn't a hunting pistol, nor a self defense weapon.
