I had both codes PO137 (O2 Sensor circuit low voltage) and PO139 (O2 Sensor circuit slow response) so I was clearly pointed to the downstream O2 sensor on my 4-cylinder 2016 Frontier. It had just been oil undercoated, and I suspect the oil undercoat (the sensor had been directly sprayed) blocked the small vent holes that provide atmospheric air into the sensor so it can compare atmospheric O2 to the exhaust O2. I had the most trouble with getting the electrical connector apart - your video was really helpful and I thank you. I also had to heat the flange on the exhaust pipe with MAP torch to get the sensor out.
Waiting on new O2 sensors to be delivered tomorrow. 2 years ago I replaced all 4 cats (with aftermarket since I couldn't afford OEM) and the 2 front O2 sensors with NTK/NGK (don't know why they didn't replace the downstream since that ultimately ended up being where the bad cat was) and now I'm getting P0420, P0430, and P1148, and occasionally P1278 & P1279 codes. My fuel mileage seems okay for now, but the engine has started to sort of hesitate/bog down at higher speeds and sporadically go in/out of limp mode. Ordered 2 A/F and 2 O2 sensors...hoping to not have to replace any cats again. I've got 196k on my 05 Pathfinder. Thanks for the video!
I'm having the very same problem with 06 Nissan frontier, how did you know it was sensor was going to be the problem? Or was it lucky guess? I just bought the sensor but thinking of going with spark plug non fouler, thanks for the video
I used my Obd2 scanner which tells me all the possible factors. So i replaced the 02 sensors and spark plugs the code returned and then replaced the cat convertor it never came back again.
Did you check inlet and outlet temperatures of bank 2 cat or O2 sensor voltage beforehand, or just a lucky guess? I had a P0420 and it was the cat, now I have a P0430...
Just to change an 02 sensor? That’s nuts. You can buy an 02 sensor from $19 to $150 It’s easy to replace an 02 Sensor. I’ve done all four of mine on my 08 Nissan Frontier for under $200 and haven’t had an issue in over a year.
@@curtfox91 thanks. Weird thing tho. I got the car smogged for registration and it passed no problems then out of nowhere the light comes on. Then it turned off after a few miles and was off for 3 or 4 days then the light came back

Hi thank you so much for sharing. Can a faulty O2 sensor cause your temperature and fuel gages to malfunction ??
Thank you
A bad 02 sensor can cause alot of things most common is Misfiring.
So you went from underneath the truck on drivers side wheel well?
2012 Frontier..This video helped! Thank you!
What size was that o2 sensor socket
What store did you get the sensor ?
I just did the same thing. Thanks for the video!
Whats the name of that sensor a downstream sensor?
Did you check inlet and outlet temperatures of bank 2 cat or O2 sensor voltage beforehand, or just a lucky guess? I had a P0420 and it was the cat, now I have a P0430...
I replaced my Cat and both 02 sensors. There is another video of replacing the Cat.
I have frontier 2014 i have exactly P0430 Bank 2, in Auto zone just telling i have to change catalyst system, how i know is that sensor? Thanks
I ended up changing my Cat because I couldn’t get bank 1 out of the old cat. But if its Bank 2 it should be just replacing the sensor.
@curtfox91 I appreciated man, where you buy the sensor? Or what you recommended? Thanks for answers
Yea we’re do u buy the sensors at?
Great video! Thanks for sharing
What size socket did you use?
I can't get bank 2 sensor 1 connector to come apart. Seems like the Clio goes outward, but then it will not disconnect.
The cat and the Harbor Freight light stole the show. Did you replace it with an OEM oxygen sensor or aftermarket?
Only use OEM.
I got the same truck and code. How would I know which side is it or if it’s the same bank 2 sensor is the one I’ll replace too?
If you Have Code (P0430) Then it is for Bank 2 Drivers side Downstream.
The dealer wants to charge me 600 bucks to do this. Thank you.
Fuck that lol
About $450 here, 9.13.23. What's the price of the part?!

@davechambers5279 do you buy the OEM ? I'm gonna try to do mine because they charging me 1200 to change all 4 😢
Is this the downstream 02 sensor i have a 2017 nissan frontier sv bank 1 sensor 2? Drivers side right? I cant find what one is the right one.
Yeah it is. The other sensor is on the Cat.
Bank 1 is passenger side on these trucks.
Your video really help bro thanks!
What is the part number, i check in the autozone web, but the conector its different, ntk 24056
Where did you get the 02 sensor at?
This is for a 2.5 4cly?
Where did you buy your sensor from? Nissan ? Or somewhere else?
It’s OEM
Did you get the same code again after installing a new one ?
Not for me. Did you have that issue?
I bought a part and realized they are not the same…threads the same length. Pressing my luck
I have a 2017 pathfinder (~140k mile) and am getting P0420 and P0430. Does that mean both sensors are bad, or my cat really is shot?
It seems your cat is fucked. I had that and that was because someone bought Chinese copies and welded it. It was an expensive process
I love the black cat on the truck
Thank you 👍
We're you approaching the sensor from the back to the front? In other words we're you reaching towards the front of the truck from the further back?
This sensor was the one further from the engine bay on the exhaust system. I changed Both of them though.
@@curtfox91 ok. Thanks. That's sensor 2 then. Mine is sensor 1 on bank 2.
Update? Did the SES light come back?
There is an Update look at the Cat converter video.
How do you know if its the sensor with P0430?
Just picked up a 2000 maxima with 97k miles
I got shops telling me to replace the cat
If you have this P0430 i would you replace Drivers side cat. And Both 02 Sensors while your at it. Bank 1 left side Bank 2 right passenger Side.
Forgot to Mention i no longer have this Code. After replacing 02 sensors and later changing the Catalytic Converter.

Replaced but the code reappeared shortly later
Did you replace the one near the Cat aswell?
Might have to replace both on that side
@@curtfox91 will give that a try. Thank you for the suggestion!
Do not use aftermarket sensors. Only use Nissan branded otherwise you will continue to see the check engine light.
Nice video. How did you know the problem wasn’t a bad catalytic converter?
Well at first you dont know. But this repair fixed our code and hasn’t returned since
@@curtfox91 Thanks. I’ve got an 06 Pathfinder with 160k miles with a p0420 code. People seem to assume it’s a bad cat.

Great video can you give us an update, did the check engine light stay off?
Yes it did. If it comes back your car might be the issue

Shut up
Where did you get the light?
Harbor Freight. They’re like $3 so pickup up a few just to have. They’re great.
Bro I thought p0430 was for the cats I have that code now
It can be for Multiple things. In our case it was our O2 Sensor.
