Informative video... In this gulf to Australian migration context.. I would like to add my thoughts here....
For the last 10 years I've been working in different gulf regions in Oil and Gas construction field and for the past 4 years I have been in Oman. What I am seeing here is that they are slowly and consistently training and recruiting the locals, and in future it will be increased in a steady manner. So the question is, would the Gulf provide enough opportunities to the expats after 5 or 10 years later? Currently my company only offers the job to the nationals in the safety and administration department where last year 99% were expats.
Whereas in my case, each engineer is allotted two locals to spoon feed and train to the system and the company is monitoring their progress quarterly, so once they've got enough training means we will get terminated. Since we can't survive back in our country; migration would be a better choice.
That is what… if you are looking for long term stability, migration is the best!
