Visiting A Soviet Barber Shop!
VloĆŸit

- đ·đș It's no secret that I have a somewhat over excited reaction every time I see something remotely Soviet, so imagine what I thought when I saw a Soviet barber shop in Makhachkala's old bus station...Yes I had a Soviet beard trim. Oh and where the bloody hell is Kalmykia?!
i dont think this guy has ever been to his own house
*A fly lands on the table*
Bald: Look at this, a real soviet fly!
it has a tiny camera inside to track you, and if you do something soviets don't like, a tiny bomb to give you a soviet ( not so) goodby
đ€Ł
Lands on the soviet table
the world is like a video game for him, he just casually talks to everybody đ
plot twist: that sink was installed about 5 years ago.
just watching a british man fangirl over a bus station
*a SOVIET bus station
not just any bus station, a soviet bus station!
Whats up doc ?
Lil Poop But itâs SOVIET!!
Well you should see are bus stops nothing authentic at all
When you play a RPG and keep forgetting the main quest
Bald is like a little kid at Christmas when he sees a Soviet sink or a Soviet bus station
Imagine how many times he said "Soviet" in his entire life.
He talks to more people in one 15-minute video than I do in a year
Get out of the house more!
@@jyrkimaansiirrotoy1836 fair point
@@jyrkimaansiirrotoy1836 But then I would have to talk to people
In most first world countries there's probably not very many people you want to associate with.. 90% are fake as fuck. You are lucky to have 1 or 2 good friends. Even in a city of 5 million.
@@Dooshanche And if you live in London, or any other UK city for that matter, not getting out of the house earns you merit ; )
Do NOT drink a shot everytime he says Soviet. You'll die.
I don't know if 31 shots will kill you,
But you will be drunk for 2 day's at least!
Except if you are a real Soviet
Pro tip: Chisinau/Kishinev duty free has a âŹ3,50 one liter bottle of local Perfect vodka. Most 40% ones now taste "light" to me. This one definitely doesn't.
Thats 31x4cl of booze..124cl=1,24litres ...smoke some good bud after that and you are set! And dont forget the beers! LOL, dying? gtfo.
Huh!
Bald : "Soviet clock"
**points at thermometer**
Normal people:Shave
Bald in post soviet country: Soviet shave
Me : sees a normal busstation
Historians : sees a Soviet busstation
Mr. Bald : this is heaven
đ đ đ đ đ
The man in the shoe cobblers was deaf, he wasnât saying go away but was looking for a local to tell you he was deaf
he said, please come in, take pictures if you want
FoodieForce Lucy how do you know ?
FoodieForce Lucy OOF thatâs kinda sad
and?
Indeed. And I guess he invited you to make a photo instead.
Its so strange to see someone being excited about things you'd be depressed about
"Look at the old Soviet clock as well"
*14 degrees*
The whole family came down to make sure you got the right bus, amazing.
Most people: Buy a bus ticket, explore the bus station.
Bald: Explore the bus station, get a shave, talk to some cops, talk to some babushkas, try to buy a ticket, realize you're at the wrong bus station, walk to the right bus station, realize you missed the bus to the place you wanted to go, take a nine hour bus ride to a place you didn't want to go.
What a life..đ. I love watching it đâïžđ
Bald is lucky because Astrakan appears to be a really nice place to visit. You can check out the Real Russia video blog and see that the city in the summertime is a cultural center along the southern part of the Volga river.
And the video title should called "What is the name of the city again?"
Wow spoilers
You have an army of Babushka's looking after you :D
Im just impressed at how socially relaxed he is in a foreign country, i'm not that socially relaxed in my home town of 36 years. Respect.
The old ladies at the beginning helping Bald and talking to the driver on his behalf are GREAT! God bless these beautiful souls
Other than they sent him to the wrong station, but other than that they were great. Guess he shoulda listened to the other lady :)
there are no young people in russia xD
"The old Soviet clock"
"The old Soviet window"
"The old Soviet Barber shop..."
"Can you cut my beard?"
"....Soviet Shave."
I find this amusing, mainly because it should be an eye opener that people are people wherever you go.
I feel you'll be lost and confused when you return to London.
I just love the way he is bringing Russia into our lives
Could anyone take Russia out of my life then?
You're free to leave if you wish.
I am on disability at the age of 45. I am in the U.S. The closest thing to an out of country adventure I have had was a few trips to Chihuahua in the early 2000âs. Shit went down hill health wise. I am living the life I want vicariously through your videos. I would give my left nut to be able travel the little known out of the way places of the world.....Youâre living a more amazing life than I believe you even realize.
Billy Ray this is the thing is love about CZcams , even if doing what you see others doing in their videos seems out of your means they are sort of sharing the experience with you by filming it! Best of luck to you in the future friend!
Yes I like Bald for his opened mind he travels to places where is not common to visit. Yes he gives me a energy burst with every movie.
Billy I feel same as You.
Good luck with your challenges Billy, all the best
@Stimpy&Ren so you're ironman?
Billy Ray,, im sorry to hear I'm 38 and been ill for 16 years,,also disabled,,may the lord bless you,,you are a champion,,being ill 24/7 /365 days a year, for years takes determination of a hero it is extremely difficult,,, you are awesome, a true champion
I've never seen someone so fascinated with soviets
"You never know what you find at the top of ancient steps. Well, in Russia you find babushkas"...Love it! The proceeding argument between the babushkas about who gave you the better directions is priceless đ€Ł
"I will explain everything to the driver for you" They are so nice, gotta love the soviet babushkas.
The guy in "soviet" shoe repair shop was deaf, thats why he was acting strange. In post Soviet countries we that strange thing, workers in shoe repair shops are usually deaf
He"s like a big kid when he"s inside a soviet building lol
"So what do you like about old soviet history?"
Bald: Yes.
The gentleman at 0:53 was deaf and mute. He was trying to tell you with his hands, that it is no problem to take fotos/film at his shop. At least thats what I understood.
:(
well that makes me sad :(
:(
A simple đ or đcould have prevented that unfortunate misunderstanding. For anyone visiting an unfamiliar place. Itâs easier to just leave to avoid trouble.
1:06 I think he is deaf and wanted to say that you can take photos of the shop because he clearly made camera gesture :)
I feel sad now thanks
Dunno, i live in russia and usually ppl are not so happy about cameras, even in big cities.
StĂžnepiper Well, everyone was ok with it even in this video
@@SY7MMA p maybe people who were really not friendly were cut...
SY7 yes he is deaf
i love when mr.bald say he is filming for his friends watch and we are his friends, i'm really happy right now, thank you
This is like an open world game
Nothing better than climbing âAncient stepsâ and finding babushskas
so yâall are saying the deaf man was inviting him inside? iâm depressed now
Bald needs to rectify this lol
And that he could take pictures
Why is watching a man getting excited by a bus station so appealing to me and instantly put me in a better mood after a days work! Never Change Bald!
I'm seriously impressed with how much his Russian is improving, props Bald
Found some information about бŃĐčĐœĐ°ĐșŃĐșĐ°Ń street.
Ullubiy Danilovich *Buynaksky* (August 27 (September 8), 1890 - August 16, 1919) was a revolutionary leader in Dagestan at the beginning of the 20th century.
Good research, cheers Andes
Same date of birth that i have, must be a good person!
@@SergeyPRKL You are 129? Full respect to you sir.
@@SergeyPRKL just one of many red terrorists.
Nobody really remember them or teach about them since ussr.
There is a town in Dagestan called Buynaksk. So this street is probably named after that city or leads to a road which leads to that city. The town is famous in Russia because during Chechen wars there was a huge terrorist attack. The whole 5-storey house (ĐżŃŃĐžŃŃажĐșĐ°) full of Russian soldiers was blown up in 1999. 64 people died (incl. 23 children).
1990's: "That's retro"

Semiotics is a living thing...
8:26 it's Viktor Tsoi for those who asked, and in my opinion he's soviet russia's greatest artist of the 80's him and his band ĐĐĐĐ, i definitly recommend hearing some of his songs even if you can't understand a thing,i recommend listen to "gruppa krovi" since that one contains the most solid themes of his band, unfortunaly he died in a car crash in on august 15 1990 in the tukums district in latvia, he was only 28 :'(. My heart literally raced when i saw his image on the video that i had to comment this, i'm sorry if i spelled anything wrong. #ĐŠĐĐĐĐĐ!

- What you wanna be when you grow up?
- Soviet.
Nothing brings me more joy than bald reveling in a Soviet bus station
this guys life just entirely consists of strangers and freaks missions from gta v
lol he's ace, such enthusiasm. He reminds me of Steve Irwin on a nature program lol
i wish someone loved me as much as bald loves the Soviet Era.
Yo, i'm from Kalmykia.
It's in the southern part of Russia, really chill place. The region is surrounded in steppes, kinda hot during summer. There are quite a few interesting places to see, such as the giant buddhist temple, Hurul, the Chess City, the tulip festival sometime during late spring. Also it's not too hard to find locals to get piss drunk with.
I suggest visiting it in sometime in May, or just YOLO it and go there during winter to see the frozen steppes. It's quite a sight.
Are you an ethnic Russia? đ€

these babushkas were so nice. Russia really is filled with hospitality
Even the Soviet police love Bald! I think they are so impressed when they see an Englishman speaking fluent Russian.
The diversity of peoples and cultures you have withing Russia is incredible. It is a shame more people are not aware of this.
Him: finds anything soviet
Russian me: WTF
The only Russian I know that thinks he's an Englishman.
Those police men talking to him warmed my heart and almost made me tear up.
Sweet people just trying to live their life.
Bald is definitely in Soviet heaven in this video. Priceless smile. I have never left Australia yet I feel like I have travelled all of Russia and other countries thanks to Bald. Amazing! Thank you
Oh my God! I've watched the whole video with a wide smile on my face!!! Such enthusiasm, such happiness, sooo lovely! It's very nice that you're not shy or afraid to talk to everybody in a friendly manner. Thanks to you I have the opportunity to see other parts of Russia, because I for sure won't have the chance to explore the whole country

Right now I am actually enjoying a cup of Maruchan chicken flavored noodle soup. It's the instant soup that comes in styrofoam cups and you just add hot water. I love it.
And a spliff
You have to love how excited bald gets when it's a Soviet bus station like a little kid. His eyes get big and a grin ear to ear warms my heart to see such passion. Keep up the good work.

Well, he doesn't seem a hair expert:)
I am native Dagestani spend my childhood there and then my family moved to St.P north capital of Russia. Nice to watch it. Remind me of good old times when I was a child

This dude is DEFINITELY an undercover Russian agent... all of his travels are just a cover for his missions.
Bald, you realize that some weeks after you went to Bolivia there was a coup and the government was overthrown.
You really were in much more danger than you thought, keep safe man
''Tell them what Babushkas we have here in Dagestan!''
Amused, a most pleasant introduction. My thanks.

You should get Nobel Peace Prize for diffusing the tensions between Russia and the Western World. Your videos prove that there are good people everywhere!
When you said "Friends back at home" I felt touched Mr. Bald.
We're all Mr. Bald's friends on this blessed day
I was at work, busy with all sorts of activities. Suddenly I felt a powerful tingling in my balls. And I just knew. Somewhere in the caucuses, a bald guy had just referred to me as a friend back home.
The first guy looked like he was telling you to come in and take a picture.
Is he? I canât tell. Iâm torn on both. His hand messages are confusing
Thereâs also a break in between the guy and when he leaves
Man I love you so much dude! You make my day when I see how happy and passionate you are when traveling!
I feel like if it were left up to every day people there would be no war.
