Though I am grateful to see additional scenes of Lunafreya and the Astrals, I am disappointed there continued to be little interaction from Noctis and Luna. I am aware their relationship depicts tragedy, but as a spirit that would have intriguing to see her speak her feelings toward him (or Ravus when he grieved for her.) Luna seemed more committed to ensuring Noctis fulfilled his calling more than bonding with him when the opportunity was available. If a remake is ever created in the future, that will be a joy if developers can change that while also sharing more of Nyx, Ravus and Noctis time in the crystal.
This game made me realize why remakes got so popular over the years. Im new to the game so I definitely enjoyed the overall experience of Final Fantasy (Garuda and Ramuh summons are just pure art!) but even I could feel the plot holes in this story. The amount of wasted potentially almost made me cry when the game ended; beautiful conclusion, it hit the heart a lil bit, but rushing to it kills the whole mood. Id love to see a remake happen with this one!

Why is there a wall, or rather a revival of the one Regis used to hold? This wasn't at all in the base game and Ardyn has no motivation to lock Noctis out. They literally just added this to have a fancy cutscene for the sake of a fancy cutscene.
Rikoh ZX Before this, there is a scene where Ardyn create this wall in order to torture Noct, as always. He does It as a reminder of the sacrifice that Regis was doing by keeping the wall and that was killing him slowly, so Ardyn knows it and use It to torture Noctis and annoy him. So it does make sense.
At this point, no one is actually playing this game for story, plot or even logical coherence. We just want further excuses to keep turning it on inside our consoles.
We've learned it since Final Fantasy XIII-2: more items, more boss fights, more fanservice. Milk the franchise and give all the calcium to the People... for their sweet, sweet money.
It's not a bad deal, really. It just screws everyone that bought the base game over a year ago... but Square-Enix loves tears of rage every now and then, too.

Final fantasy 15 by far is the best game ever made. Nobody no about 2025. But for certain final fantasy 15 royal edition is the real complete edition. If you compare it to all of the others that is click bait over the years. Looking forward in the next hopefully it will continue

Ardyn fights worthy people, why do you think he sent GLAUCA to kill Regis?Because Regis was too weak for him to bother fight him and GLAUCA the weak dog was killed by NYX the weak dog while Ardyn had his fun enjoying the dog fight.
IMO not so much of him wanting to fight anyone worthy as he is already immortal.Ardyn had a death wish and wanted to destroy the entire royal bloodline as revenge. He knew Noctis had to absorb all the power from the kings just to kill him and by absorbing that power Noctis has to die along with everyone else. Win Win for him. Ardyn dies and so does every royal bloodline.
Ardyn also fought to win, if he just wanted to die he'd have let Noctis win on purpose. He wanted a worthy opponent in the end, a true battle of Kings.
Yeah, they definitely needed *at least* a whole extra year to develop this game. All the stuff they added in the Royal Edition should have been there from day one!
I hope someone makes a game movie after all the dlcs are complete.

I don't understand how a dead Luna has the power to summon the Astrals. Why can't Noctis just do it himself?
Thought the exact same thing. Seems like a poor excuse to give us the goodbye between Noctis and Luna, but now it means we have ghosts summoning which seems dumb to me. If they wanted to put a goodbye, it should have been while she was alive. Also seems dumb that Ardyn wants Noctis to meet him, and yet puts a wall to prevent him from doing so. Did he predict Ghost Luna was going to appear or what... This cutscene is so dumb.
Ignis Mare The story is basically a joke at this point. It's like a living meme in game form or something. I honestly can't take it seriously anymore, and the story just feels like fan fiction. I thought the game was decent at launch but I feel like these story updates hurt more than improve what was already there.
And back to this scene, idk why but I can't help but feel they're trying REALLY hard to make Luna as this neo-Aerith kind of construction. Like, they both have this kind of "will they/won't they?" storyline with the MC, but in the end it's not meant to be, then they die tragically in an emotional scene, then come back for one final hurrah to help the party out (Aerith using Holy to weaken Meteor at the end + grabbing Cloud's hand) but it's probably just my imagination. :p
In fact noctis and no one can summon freely. The Astrals are who choose when come out and help, and Luna as the oracle can communicate with them and pray for this help with more strength
just an oracle can talk to gods, it is explained in the game -.-
What's worse is that you have to pay for DLC just to get this cutscenes lol. I hate myself for buying the game pre-ordered 😂😂

I think it just goes to show how powerful Ardyn really is. Not only did he not need the crystal, but it took ALL THE GODS (save Ifrit) to take it down?! That’s one bad mother... SHUT YO’MOUTH!
It would be cool to see if they gave an ending where Noct chooses not to kill him, but instead takes arms alongside Ardyn in helping acquire the justice Ardyn deserved, as promised by the Crystal which then rejected him. How you gonna make a covenant with him and then not fulfill it? Ardyn held up his part of the bargain. I can’t say I blame him for his hatred of the Crystal.
he did, and didn't. he stopped the scourge but not in the way that the crystal intended. it does make it seem like the crystal is the asshole in this scenario, for sure. But then he kinda justifies it after with his actions, but again, no other path was really left over to him, and he went insane anyways. true tragedy.

I'm not gonna use my energy to prove you wrong i have better things to do. I'm gonna focus on REALLY good female characters, characters that surely don't belong to ffxv.
Dilana Karatas yep, useless for once because in the OG game Noctis used none of the summons she awakened for in the end, he was unconscious BECAUSE she called upon Leviathan, the ring could have been brought to noctis by anyone really she isn’t that special, she even asked Ravus to do it. Could have duct tape it to Umbra to speed it along. So she didn’t really have any usefulness in her 3 minutes of screen time until this particular scene.
As for strong female characters, I disagree. I stan all my women and men in general but I prefer them to be well written. Lunafreya was bland, lacking of an independent story or any sense of personality and, to top it all off, she was useless. Even characters like Aranea and Iris are better, and it’s a disrespect to the other main heroines of Final Fantasy that luna is now among them.

Dilana Karatas are you really asking this question...? Are you even serious? Because Square Enix tried to sell her as the main heroine and potential love interest, that's why. If she wasn't meant to have a character development, at least she should have been well portrayed but no. We don't see anything about her, except her death. All her characterization happens off screen. Bullshit. First they gave us Kingsglaive Luna (who was totally different and kinda cool) and then, all of a sudden, tabata probably decided she was too Stella-like so he replaced her with a nice puppet that does very unnecessary things (you know all the oracle stuff is crap. Oracle powers and oracle duties etc weren't in fact NEVER mentioned in kingsglaive. Why? Never had an explanation) just for the show and that somehow is supposed to be noct's love interest. She was so poorly written that tabata gave her 6 minutes of screentime before killing her off, because he probably didn't know what to make her do.
This scene is a living proof. Why does luna even appear here? To summon the gods to protect the bros? Well, too bad noctis survived for an entire game summoning the astrals on his own.
It's just ridiculous.
We deserved a well written female character. Luna herself deserved to be properly written. I'm so sorry for her in the first place.
My problem with Luna is how she's always so formal, even with Noctis. It suits her character and her role, but even just one personal line of dialogue before she vanishes wouldve added a lot. Thats just my opinion

Pilu The only problem i see with Luna is she need more exposition. We actually know almost everything about her: chilhood, family, mother's death, when she met Noctis, how they keep in touch through years, in the actual game we know what she is doing all the time, escapes from Insomnia, pilgrimage around Eos awakening the Six and healing people. We know all this thanks to conversations, radio, documents and a few cutscenes, and maybe that is the problem with her character. People doesn't want to read anything, they want scenes and exposition of all this. She is not a bad character at all, everything she does is in the game , but in a different way. If someone say she is useless, is a troll or didn't pay much attention to the game.

Why Ardyn can't kill by Astrals? They can destroy wall that created from Ardyn, right?
Unimagi Studio this wall was created by Regis and Ardyn simply used it to hurt Noctis a bit. And Ardyn cannot be killed by anyone but the chosen King due to his immortality, that came from his corruption by star disease that Ifrit created. He can only be temporarily banished by Astrals, like we see when Shiva freezes him.

Why is there a barrier there? did Ardyn put it there? I thought he wanted Noctis to meet him, not prevent him from getting there. This is so dumb -.- I'm all for Luna having more of a role in the story, but while she was alive not as a stupid Ghost, getting Ghost Luna to summon is a poor plot point and a badly written way of giving us the goodbye between Luna and Noctis that many fans wanted.

I mean, Luna had the connections to the Astrals, and without the Astrals the Wall wouldn’t have broken unless it was broken from inside of it (that’s how Nifilhem destroyed Insomnia).
And in case I get the argument “Well, Noctis could have summoned them,” he couldn’t really. This is taken out of the Final Fantasy wiki: “Though the king can summon the gods to his aid, he cannot simply do so at will, and the Astrals decide to help him on their own. Glimmering soul crystals appear in the air when an Astral is offering the chance for the king to summon, but according to Noctis, summoning ‘takes a lot out of him’, implying it is physically exhausting to do. When Prompto asks why don't they simply summon Astrals for every battle, Noctis retorts ‘easy for you to say’.”
So, Noctis can’t exactly summon The Six on his own. That’s why Luna came in and summoned them for him. Besides, helping Noct fulfill his calling is a part of her own calling. Ravus himself said in Episode Ignis: “Even in death, the Oracle does not rest. It is only when the Darkness is dispelled is when her calling is truly fulfilled.”
