      It's to make it a bit harder to do so P.E can test your upper body muscle endurance and strength more, and I do, XD! No, seriously. I do wait 3 seconds to go back up and I still got quite above commended on the test.

      Are you talking about waiting 3 seconds while in down position or in up position?
      Anyways, as a workout, I wait 3 seconds in down position to get a better workout, but for the real test at school they give us the option to go in up position quickly after the 3 seconds and to have a 90 degree push-up form.

      Yautjam Predatoe Waiting 3 seconds while in down position. I always did the real pushup 90* form regardless. Waiting 3 seconds while down is pointless and tenses your muscles up. I can go up to 50 pushups that way but if I wait it's only about 32.

      Nikitak09 True, that's what I did too on the test to have a 90 degree elbow angle and enter the up position quickly after the 3 seconds and achieved the limited number of push-ups, 75, but using this video with the limit being 86 instead, I completed 80 push-ups while using the 45 degree elbow angle form and stayed down for the 3 seconds when I was exercising with great form. (I'm not joking either, I'm serious).
      Also, the 45 degree push-up are tougher to do for me. Wouldn't you agree?

    This is excellent for practice. I weigh about 140 pounds and could do 60-75 at my own pace. When I started this push up test I could only do a mere 37.This ticked me off! I kept at it and improved at different increments. Went from 37-43, Then 43-47. I now can do 52 to this date. Very good as long as you keep at it once and awhile.

    if only I could go my own pace for the pushups.. this is so slow and agonizing and way harder. I got 26 this pace and I can do 40+ going fast- it's probably cheating going fast..

      It's called momentum. Of course you can do more fast. This tests your actual muscle strength and endurance. Not speed.

    without the voice i can do around 60. with the voice around 15... its because he holds you there. pushups should be dome at your own rate and pace which you are comfortable with.

    This is good!
    I had this test in gym, and guess what? We had this exact same audio. But it was a female voice, and these slow push-ups are harder, and more efficient. These are the kinds of things where lower #s should be tougher on you, and getting high #s on these slower pushups are SO MUCH HARDER then getting higher #s on regular paced push ups.
    So, everyone should put this in your favorites list so you can use this at any time

    i did this at school and i purposely got 6, and we do testing three times during the year, so on my record after doing 6 everytime, it'll say "6 6 6" XD
    (for those of you wondering, I got 72 curl-ups, 49 pacer, and 30 pull-ups, so it'll make up for it)

    I’ve been working on this for a few years when I first started I could do ten and I wanted to be stronger so I’ve lost 50 pounds I’ve done this test every day for the most part and what do you know I can do 100 push ups I’m so proud in my self😊
