Science Studio is one of the few CZcamsrs to not go overboard with his builds and still appeal to the average consumer. If you're building a $3000 rig, you have to know that most people aren't gonna be able to afford it...

Too bad basically none of the new gen cards come with white LED on the side. Any color but white... nice looking build overall.
The EVGA FTW card was an option for me, but the ASUS cooler is a bit beefier.
That's right EVGA cards do come with white LED. I totally feel you on the Asus cooler. I wanted to grab an Asus 1070 myself but they were all sold out at that time..
BTW I believe Twin Frozr cards come with white LED as well but half of the card is red.
Yeah MSI was on the list as well. Beautiful cards from EVGA, MSI, and ASUS IMO.
They're all pretty in their own ways. I ended up getting a G1 Gaming. It was between G1 and Twin Frozr. I can't really complain since this card runs @ 62C - 67C. I'm curious how Asus performs since the card is even beefier.
The performance between the G1 Gaming 1070 and the Strix ROG 1070 is practically identical, with the Strix only beating the G1 by about 2-3C in cooling, and 1-2 in FPS (They both have about the same limit to how far you can overclock them, so that 1-2 FPS really doesn't matter anyways).
The Asus Strix ROG is also around $40 USD more, and unless you just really like the looks of it over the Gigabyte G1 Gaming, it isn't worth it IMO.
Amazing. I knew I wanted to do a white PC build around the NZXT case. I changed some of my pieces around to more closely match this suck as the mobo and the AIO cooler. Thank you for this!
Nice Greg, I am getting an i7-6850K and a Asus x99 Deluxe II with 32 GB of DDR4 3000. Editing, streaming and Gaming is in mind.
6700K would be plenty for that, and better for gaming.
I have an i7-4790K. I am looking more towards better H.264 encoding which is something that helps a stream out. I can also max out my i7-4790K in load. So I dont think I would benefit from a 6700k honestly.
Your gaming performance will diminish with a 6850K over a 6700K. That's my point.
If I overclock it to 4.2-4.4 I should be fine then. What I need is more cores. I get your point.

Motherboards don't affect GPUs much. The difference should be miniscule.
How do u get the i7 sticker? I want one to put over my pentium build to sell for £800 or so.

Awesome build! I have a 6700k and the STRIX OC 1070, and it crushes everything I throw at it. You won't be disappointed, but you probably already knew that haha
I highly recommend spray paints meant for plastic parts. The pigments are much finer, and even the nozzle on the can is meant for producing the kind of finish that this kind of thing deserves. There are several paints made specifically for aluminum as well (back plate).
Can you do a noise and temp comparison on this build with the 240ex and the kraken x61?
Both AIOs are virtually silent at idle; and with a crisp fan calibration, both are quiet even under full load. Not much of a difference there.

Both are great; one is cheaper, and one is larger. Buy the one that fits your budget and needs.

i would use all 10 fans if the case allowed.
I don't know of any case with native 10-fan support that would be suitable for a Z170 platform; that's what I was getting at.
Science Studio if I found a case with 10 fan slots I would use all 10. Unless a slot is on the bottom.

Nice! The good thing about your channel is that you tests stuff that is so freaking expensive here. For instance, the average salary here is R$2.000,00 (around U$615,00) and the GTX 1070 alone is around R$2450,00 (U$752,00) so is kinda really hard to get a part like this here. The total build would cost around R$9600,00(U$2946,00) without the monitors and periferals, so it´s kind impossible for a lot, i mean, A LOT of people to do a Build like this! So we apreciate very much that we can see how it could be something like that! Thanks for the great video!

Because AMD offers *nothing* viable at this time. I'm not about to edit 4K footage on a 9590. Not a chance.

always awesome to see a white build! I did a mostly white build for my first PC and also went with that asus board. it's fantastic. I also got lucky and my graphics card is the black and white msi 980, so I didn't have to try my hand at painting anything. I also opted for the white ballistix ram that has the same camo as the MB which is a nice touch.
for names I went with "The Yeti" because I got the phanteks luxe which is honestly a huge case. lol. good luck naming yours!

I have this same mobo, I bought Crucial Ballistix sport ram, matches perfectly. I also have the Seasonic Snow Silent psu, it's all white and Cablemod makes full replacement cables for it.
Where do you even buy a HOF card in the US? I don't think Galax sells at any US retailers, importing seems like a huge pain in the ass.

Its called assisting fan because if they ever make the plastic armour for this like the Sabertooth Mk1, you can put a 40mm fan there.
Says this is where i expect to be this year. Brakes two versions of this pc.

Nice clean build, it looks great. I debated on a all white build after seeing Awesomesauce white build also. In the end it was either Red/Black, or White/Black. I went with red this time around which seems more common, but hey, my car is red/black too. But I think I really like to go the all white build next time around. I love how the LED's essentially bring out which ever color the its displaying. I could go overboard and use those new RGB fans they have out now.
Then a RGB CASE! And a RGB MOUSE, and a RGB KEYBOARD, and a RGB MOUSEPAD, and RGB CABLES! RGB RADIATOR! ARGH GEE BEE!

I'm debating on a MSI 1070 or the Asus Strix 1070 (is it pronounced 'STRIKES? or STRICKS? I've heard both). Any opinion on the two? The MSI already fits my current color scheme on my current setup. I dont think there's any performance between the two negligible at best. But what about noise?
having 11 fan headers is just crazy...
even with 2 in the top, bottom, front AND rear and 2 for the cpu you will only have 10
put that monster in the middle of your room and you will never have to vaccuum it ever again, just remember to clear the fan filters each day

GLACIER SUNSET - Nice vid and build. It's so easy to do nice builds these days with all of the mods being now done for you. No offense it's a nice build and you did do some painting. Just me but I would have the rad fans in pull on the inside of the rad. It's better for cleaning and it would make the hoses fit better so they don't hit the GPU.

I vote for the hand held versus all tripod. Also I'm surprised how casual everyone seems to be when handling the electronics with no ESD protection. Problem is failures usually don't show up for 6 months or more.
I just bought a Strix 1070 last week. not sure about the thermal paste on mine, but I have it OC'd to +227/+500. the boost ramps up to 2100Mhz easily and the temps don't go above 66c. Asus did an amazing job with that cooler.
Absolutely beautiful build, Greg. Awesome to see we have a similar taste in white pc components! Got my Titan Xp review video up and running. (I know it's very noobish). Got mine in a white Enthoo Luxe chassis and a Z170 deluxe in 1.0 form right now, but all of your painting/modding has given me enough courage to do some painting, too. The shiny bare metal GPU bracket would be a good start. I wish mine was that clean with the cables, though...:P

I think the excess of fan headers was for convenience, so you dont need to stretch wires left and right to get to the headers.

The motherboard is actually arctic-camoflauge lol. I kept saying in my head that it looked camoflaugish and went to asus' website and it says arctic-camoflauge. The PC looks badass but idk if it fits my taste. You did a great job though Greg, nice video man.

i just finish my white build with MSI Titanium MOBO and Avexir Raiden Ram while using the DeepCool Genome case which is incredible that comes with a pre built liquid cooler

I'd set up the rad fans pulling air from behind the rad out of the case. In my experience it really helped with the GPU temps and it's easier to clean as you don't have to remove the fans in order to do so.

Awesome work! Having used to work for ASUS, you definitely did a good job painting the Strix card. Those pieces were originally designed to be swappable with 3D-printed parts on the GPU shroud. Also.... the thermal paste job was effective from the factory.... when you take it off it looks much worse for obvious reasons.
