I think it's telling that Orochimaru had to spend the entirety of Shippuden nerfed. If he'd been allowed to just keep getting stronger throughout the time skip he'd probably have easily stolen Sasuke's body and become a Madara-level threat. Dude was just cracked.

People often don't realize the significance of Orochimaru getting a White Zetsu as a body. He's virtually immortal with that body now since Zetsus don't age or have to worry about disease. The Zetsu body can still be killed, but knowing Orochimaru that's not happening easily for most characters. He should also have access to Wood Release with that body so yeah idk Orochimaru is crazy by the end of shippuden
You missed the most important part lol. He can use Sage Mode with Zetsu body, it's literally made of Hashi cells and is more than strong enough to handle SM. The only reason he couldn't enter SM was because of his weak host bodies. He had Sage chakra, just couldn't enter SM, now it's not a problem.
So yeah, he's op as hell lol.
He also has kimimaros bone kekkei genkai as well

Cuz I think we can agree that Enma's Staff form pushing Kurama out of the village and also destroying the God Tree coming at Naruto in the War, is waaaay more impressive than anything Kisame has done with Samehada

This nasty chakra thing is a pretty big assumption. Sure samehada didn't like fire. But that is no reason to draw the conclusion that he doesn't like what karin calls "nasty" chakra

Yeah, this was the only part I didn't really agree with.
Maybe it's the fact that orochimaru would likely poison them first or used his overall vast and much bigger repertoire. Potentially since he knows about sage jutsu he could maybe have a curse mark so he can turn kisames sword to stone if he really wanted to or just poison him with aerosol gas of which is literally part of him if at very least being able to create it easily. Orochimaru untapped also has the hydra combination that took Itachi's susano and reputed sword to kill and that's *nerfed* imagine him with the body during the war or even part 1 prime. Orochimaru was taking on two Akatsuki members at the same time and still escaped of which deidara would easily solo him as well as sasori. If anything orochimaru would just make kisame his next body host
I pretty much agree with everything in the video, except for the water bubble argument. Snakes are some of the best swimmers in the world. I can't imagine why Orochimaru wouldn't just summon giant snakes in the middle of it, use one to quickly swim around inside it, or summon Manda to just pop the thing. Orochimaru's poisons also pretty much just end the fight early. Other than that though, this is a great video.

Just b4 I watch the video I’ve got this to say, this will not be as easy as beating Bee was for Kisame. Orochimaru is not just going to throw chakra at him to eat and has many win cons against Kisame before he reaches his fused state.

To elaborate. Orochimaru is one of the most high iq characters in the series. If he throws an elemental jutsu at Kisame that gets absorbed he won’t keep using it unlike Bee, who kept throwing his chakra cloaks at Kisame despite them doing nothing.

I think the guy using 6th gate against a 30% clone has the mitigating circumstance of his team being held in the water prison and currently drowning. So he likely had to go close to all out for him at the time to save his students.

@@hobbyhorse5848 the 6th gate pushed water out of his way as evidenced by what happened when he opened it. He was literally underwater dealing with sharks. And going above and beyond is what Guy will always do when his loved ones are at risk. Why would he chance Kisame having other powerups instead of taking him out quickly when he literally saw Tenten running out of air well before he went underwater?

Okay first, the Samehada not absorbing Orochimarus chakra is a massive assumption, especially since In part one Samehada literally absorbs kuramas chakra which zabuza states is foul and samehada doesn’t have an issue with it at all.
Also just because guy blitzes in an attacks Kisame doesn’t make Kisame automatically weaker, it was one kick and it come out of nowhere. It wasn’t like they were already in a fight and guy just manhandled him
Also just because Kisame doesn’t use the super shark prison jutsu and his other more deadly techniques doesn’t mean he doesn’t have them. This isn’t me disagreeing with your overall statements of who would win because I would need to consider that more and I’ll probably do a video on the subject on my channel, just some friendly critiques that didn’t really make sense to me. But all in all another great video guys keep up the good work you guys make a great combo !
I always wanted to see Orochimaru vs Kisame, Orochimaru vs Sasori & Orochimaru vs Killer Bee. Outside of Itachi with all his hax doujutsu abilities, Orochimaru is pretty hard to kill, even against stronger opponents.

Bee was already impressing Minato back before Naruto was born, I don't think he had that much time to get significantly stronger between the Kisame fight and the war. Similarly for Guy, there are many implication throughout the series that he may be past his "springtime of youth" meaning he probably wasn't getting significantly stronger during his training anymore.
Kisame being surpised by KCM speed while in a sickly state and not expecting to be found because he hid his chakra is not enough to say he's not on that level, when he clearly scales to 6th gate guy and V1 Bee who are shown to be around KCM Naruto level during the war by fighting the edo jinchuriki and Obito.
Powercreep is a thing, while Kisame might have been introduced as a jonin level character, by the time he actually did stuff the sannin had been surpassed.

@@hobbyhorse5848 I don't think there's anything Kisame can do against the poison, but he should be able to cit through the puppet strings and avoid getting hit like that. I think Kisame is stronger, but dies if he gets Hit.
@@crypussy According to Kankuro an expert puppet master can immediately reattach their strings if they get cut. Sasori is also very analytical, the moment he realized Sakura was reading his attack patterns he switched his strategy. So when Kisame does cut the strings, he’d probably just fight from long range with the iron sand. Base Kisame no chakra absorbed does not have the speed feats to suggest that he can dodge the first volley of iron sand drizzle, Samehada could heal him, but he’d still be poisoned and that’s that. Kisame hard counters lots of people in Naruto, but I think Sasori hard counters him, there’s just 0 chance he could clear the fight untouched.

We really didn’t get to see Kisame go all out against Kakashi and Guy during part one, so to say that he straight out loses to them is a little harsh. That’s just to say that the fight wasn’t long enough to say that he was weaker than the two of them. I would understand if guy was able to speed blitz him and give him a pretty good kick, but it did happen at a point where Kisame was pretty focused on the opponents in front of him, so getting caught off guard had a lot more to deal with it than to say the guy was just that much faster than him. Since it wasn’t him reacting to the speed as much as getting caught off guard.

Yeah but Kakashi was Hokage candidate before Jiraiya, also was able to survive a straight up Tsyukiyumi from Itachi, it's a safe bet to say Kakashi would've beaten Kisame (not to mention lightning chakra nature is naturally stronger than water). We already know if Guy can go 7 gates at this point he too could beat Kisame

@@jaredgreathouse3672 there's no proof part 1 kisame stands a chance against bee either, since we only see shippudden Kisame in action, however, from part 1 to shippuden Kakashi goes from 3 weeks in bed using base sharingan to Mankekyo kimu. In just 2 year span. So it's safe to assume kisame might have also improved too, we're in theoretical Territory. I'd give him a fighting chance tho, Kakashi was already moving at light speed and over 1000 jutsu, was strong enough that itachi wanted to handle him bc Kisame would take too long (implying some sort of relevance in power)
@@jonathanbatista6135 not a chance. The Akatsuki are marketed as these secretive, deadly threats. We know Orochimaru was in the Akatsuki, and we know by his admission he's weaker than Itachi. So, unless Kisame (who was sent to retrieve the 9 tails) is just somehow weaker than Orochimaru (who intimidated Kakashi with his bloodlust), there's no WAY Kakashi survives. Not even a prayer.

@@nocap6000 Kisame can steal all of Orochimaru's chakra and exhaust him to death. We have seen that Samehada could steal entire chunks of the 8 tails chakra with ease. And the 8 tails has 1000 times more chakra than Orochimaru lol.
If Kisame touches Orochimaru with Samehada, he has no chakra. No chakra means no stamina and no jutsu, which means death for Orochimaru unless he manages to dodge every single chakra depleting jutsu and attack Kisame has.
@Joaquín Casas Cortés this would require orochimaru being as dumb as B and A and have him just throw chakra at kisame, which orochimaru is an extremely careful fighter so is not likely to gappen

It's mind boggling that ppl stick so hard to that one conversation from itachi and don't look at full series context or allow for Kishimoto changing things. They readily accept other examples of it, but not that one

For the sake of reputation and power scaling you have to assume that we don't get to see Jiraya's power because his reputation is just way bigger than the abilities we see him use.
Not really, to me his fight against Pain was sick. He was in the dark about Pain's abilities. And Jirariya is an extremely balanced fighter who has a lot of techniques in his arsenal. Remember Pain basically destroyed Konoha by himself and even beat Naruto and the only reason, things were good was because Pain sacrificed himself to bring everyone back. The only fight where we saw Jirariya being fully healthy and fighting against someone was Pain who is way too OP.
Bro he beat the leader of the Akatsuki as far as he knew, the dude had to sneak him after Jiraiya thought he won despite him having extensive knowledge about Jiraiya and Jiraiya having like no knowledge about him.
But he may have gotten weaker if he stopped training as much and started visiting all those places with booze and women, think about it

As much as I love Kisame, Orochimaru is too sneaky for him. Don't forget Kisame got trapped in Kurenai's genjutsu. Orochimaru might not be big on the genjutsu game but he's got other tricks up his sleeve that could easily catch Kisame off-guard.
I feel like Kisame is similar to the tailed beasts in more than just chakra.
He's got such overwhelming strength, that besides the joy of messing someone up he seems to not care much until shit goes wrong.
Which has caused him to walk straight into easily avoidable mistakes.
To clarify what I mean with the tailed beast comparison, I'm referring to how they become more powerful with a Jinchuriki because the Jinchuriki has the skill and tactics to efficiently use their power, whereas tailed beasts alone just kind of smash shit up and launch nukes.
He is not big on the genjutsu game? That's wrong, considering he knows basically everything about any jutsu, which would include genjutsu. When Itachi put him under his genjutsu Orochimaru was about to breal out of it, which is why Itachi cut his hand off. Mind you, that was a genjutsu of Itachi Uchiha! And he literally created that weird genjutsu realm, which he used to take over other peoples' bodies. Didn't he also spot that Kabuto was under Sasori's genjutsu and free him from it? I think this should be more than enough to conclude that he is very competent when it comes to genjutsu.
I feel like the reason guy had to go so far with kisame was because he was at a direct disadvantage because he had to get close. Sixth gate was probably just perceived both fast enough to avoid samehada and strong enough to end kisame by guy

Didn't Orochimaru take back his chakra from Kabuto? And even if there was still a little bit left over that Karin was senseing, it's a pretty big assumption to say Samehada would refuse to take someone's chakra just because Karin described it as nasty. She seemed pretty afraid of biju charakra too but Samehada literally couldn't get enough of it.
I don't think he did.. if so, then Kabuto's current state would be reversed, but he still looks pretty much the same in Boruto

Orochimaru when he absorbed Zetsu gained access to wood style though it’s a weak version, got his chakra back, plus got access to the Sound Five’s abilities plus Kimimaro’s kekkei genkai.
Kisame isn’t touching him. Not to mention, this is Orochimaru. He 100% has knowledge on Kisame and Samehada so he’ll act accordingly.

But without any chakra absorption he has more chakra than anybody else in the Akatsuki he has tails Beast levels of chakras without absorption and then he gives more on top of that and the last round I still think he get it even if he starts in base and I think you forgot to talk about the super shark bomb Jutsu which absorbs any chakra without samehada and become stronger
I was gonna say, it was made a big deal that Kisame was basically an unofficial Jinchuriki. Like I could’ve sworn he was the only person to be able to fuse with Samehada in the first place bc of it, and bc obv tailed beasts can’t fuse with it anyway. His chakra levels should be ridiculously high as it is and thats not including Samehada intaking chakra of its own to rejuvenate him.
I think nagato has more chakra him being a uzumaki and has the rinnegan.

Without samehada he has less chakra than nagato, and arguably less than obito since he has hashirama's cells. Nice head canon at the beginning, saying that Samehada would choose not to absorb Orochimarus chakra. Here's my own head canon; kisame can fuse with Samehada at any point in the series. So fused Kisame vs. Base Jiraiya could've happened, and Kisame would've eaten him alive. Even if Jiraiya goes into sage mode, he's got nothing on Kisame when he pops the water bubble jutsu.
You do know that Samehada doesn’t like particular flavors of chakra right?
You also realise that it only absorbs bijju chakra at a large scale and it was only absorbed as it was around him, he can't straight up suck chakra out of someone, base jiraya would swallow him whole.
The only reason he was that strong was because he has absorbed bee's chakra and it was the worst matchup possible.

I don’t think it would be easy at all against orochimaru. He would definitely need to merge with samehada to stand any kind of chance. Orochimaru has a vast arsenal of techniques from snakes to forbidden techniques like the reanimation jutsu

That's fan favorite Guy's fault. They literally had to force Kisame to lose to him with stuff like "My JuTsU dOeSn'T wOrK bEcAuSe It'S tAiJuTsU!!!" which made him come off as a pushover.
In general, a lot of the better villains got done dirty like this for plot/fanservice reasons.

One of the most hyped akatsuki members got solo'd by a jounin who was not pressured enough to even need the slightest deviation in strategy, let alone full power. And Guy did so by the writer nerfing Kisame both mentally and physically for fanservice, which is what made him look like a complete chump.
Expected performance would be forcing Guy to go into 8 gates. Or forcing someone really decent to help 7th gate Guy beat him. Impressive would be forcing 8 gates then beating him by hiding his real self in that water prison scroll (instead of conveniently just the shark). Later requiring a full team to take him down during the war arc. (e.g. 7th gate rock lee, neji and tenten with one of the treasured tools)
The way Kishimoto done him, he ended up accomplishing even less than Hidan. Reduced to a villain of the week plot device character that loses every fight to showcase various other characters' abilities.

@@yorulaney8563 What's wrong with him dying? Almost no good guys died, it's one of the biggest criticisms people already have with the arc.
This way he still gets his epic 8 gates moment, but better because it's in a scenario where it actually makes a difference. It would improve both characters, instead of ruining one merely to have yet another outright skippable fan service fight later.
If 8 gates guy dies early, then guy's team could fight Kisame in the war. Meaning Rock Lee actually gets to finally score a win and contribute to the war effort. And Neji who is exhausted/injured from Kisame has a valid reason to die from a random log. Even Ten Ten gets to actually resolve her treasured tool plotline. It ties up everything perfectly instead of the mess we got.
But as it was done, I don't think Kisame is really underrated at all. People are rating him in the same dumpster Kishimoto left him in, as he sadly so often does with villains he's done with.

It really needs to be said that base Kisame is nowhere as strong as he was when he faced 7th Gate Guy. Not only did he absorb his chakra back from Samehada, he took so much chakra from Bee that he fainted and then absorbed chakra from Aoba a strong Jonin that can fight Kakuzu in cqc. He was massively amped, his real base is 5KS Bee level who is still not 100% equal to prime Orochimaru/A4 (His V1 cloak can match the Raikages V1 lariat but his arm still got shocked so he’s not at his WA level). He’s not beating Orochimaru in kenjutsu and will probably get paralyzed by a snakes poison or immobilized by a curse mark and diced up. Kisame without those amps is not beating a prime Orochimaru (who Pain considered to be relative to Sage Jiraiya) who can summon 2 Hiruzen Level immortal zombies, AND on top of them morph into a giant endlessly regenerating hydra that’s probably 10x stronger on top of that.
Let’s talk abt the Hydra actually, it’s super underrated. Pain implies that Sage Jiraiya is comparable to base Orochimaru (and we see in their fight where both are nerfed that Orochimaru was able to break Jiraiya’s leg and crack his ribs without sustaining damage). The Hydra is bare min 10x stronger than that Orochimaru scaling from the curse mark, it should be larger than Manda at full power (the one that manifested out of Sasuke was just a piece of Orochimaru’s chakra), it can endlessly regenerate and Orochimaru can emerge from any of its head and start firing off amped jutsu or forest clearing mile long Kusanagi blades.
Yea orochimaru is still a little underrated I think. Like they love to call him weak cuz irachi beat him twice, but not only is it itachi one of most OP niggas in the series lol, but he always beat orochi by HAX not my strength. He used tsukiyomi and the totsuka blade, anybody without those 2 abilities is having a VERY hard time figting orochimaru in his prime🤷🏾♂️💯

Amaterasu without chakra absorption means you burn to death. Tsukuyomi without genjutsu immunity is an instant dub for Itachi. If the Totsuka blade touches you, you are f*cked.
If Itachi fought Nagato without his sickness at any point of the series, I legit think he could out-hax him and defeat him lol. People forget how busted and overpowered Itachi was.

@@orochimarupr And he wasn't more sick than Itachi. Itachi sickness was actively killing him whilst Orochimaru was painful but he eventually overcame it by switching bodies. He could still use Ninjutsu, just not the ones that required handseals.

What is a tailed beast to Lord Orochimaru..? Nothing. Orochimaru defeats Kisame fairly easy. Orochimaru possesses EDO Tensi with the first 2 Hokage, a Kazekage, and more. That’s all he needs to win. This isn’t a discussion.
without samehada he can't steal chakra and he also doesn't have that big reserves of it since samehada usually gives him chakra when he needs it. Without the sword he has no chance beating orochimaru. He probably loses to sasori and deidara as well without samehada

It's entirely possible that Kisame could beat Orochimaru before he even has a chance to use Edo Tensei and I hate to say it but the edo tensei didn't do much against the 3rd hokage and Kisame is stronger then the 3rd hokage. Hashirama can also break free from Orochimaru's control at any time as shown during the war arc. So Orochimaru using the 1st hokage is a nonfactor. Yes Orochimaru used the 1st hokage during his fight with the 3rd hokage but that was before Kishimoto retconned Hashirama into being the god of shinobi

@@Noblesavage31 lol he only one shot kisame cause he got offguarded. kisames attack absorbs chakra from the enemies jutsu then kills them. kisame didnt know guy shot a fucking taijutsu blast. we see in the manga that kisame has more than enough time to move out of the way and kishimoto actually draws it as like a side b side comparison as if to say that their relative in speed. kisame coulda won that fight relatively easily if he had more information or just didnt get one shot and could still fight.

@@Noblesavage31 not really headcanon. kisames super water shark bomb had enough energy to move at the exact same speed as guy's hirudora despite the fact that the water shark bomb is a water filled shark jutsu so it should have as much if not more mass that kisame since its so much bigger. this means kisame can output enough energy to move more mass than he has as fast as guy's hirudora so it stands to logical reason that he could move him and his mass at that speed by outputting a similar energy output level.
also kisames attack literally eats and absorbs the energy and chakra of an opponents attack. this is stated by kisame himself. kisame also says in the same page that "the stronger my opponent is the stronger my super shark bomb becomes". so not only does kisames jutsu really not care if ur stronger but in the clash between the shark bomb and hirudora we quite literally see the water shark bomb EAT and absorb the hirudora but because its not a chakra/energy blast it couldnt actually stop the attack. so yes if it was a chakra based attack it would have just ate it and guy would be dead. rather or not you believe this is headcanon doesnt really matter because all i have to do is prove its MORE LIKELY to be the case and i win. and ive given more than enough reasoning. the chapter this all happens in is 507.

@@hey_itsnathanial_j1051 Not necessarily, his blood evaporates in the air. If they're in his water bubble Kisame would be able to sense out where his blood is, summon his sharks to get rid of it and continue. Orochimaru's poison blood would only be a factor in an enclosed space not out in the open.

It wasn’t a known fact that orochimaru has poisonous blood, and you can’t just get sharks to eat blood when it’s been diluted with the water, the poison would already be intermixed. By the time kisame detected the blood in the water he would’ve been poisoned already
@@hey_itsnathanial_j1051 Fair points, Orochimaru was in the Akatsuki for some time. Zetsu or Sasori could have gathered intel on him and know about his body when he was and after he left the Org.. Then passed onto Kisame for example. For the blood I will say its more tricky, it will dilute making it harder to sense it but Kisame is a shark or half shark whatever. He would be able to sense or smell it out. Also its not like there would be so much blood that his entire water bubble be affected, if it was Kisame would just move the affected water out of the vicinity eventually dumping it out into the open and reinforce the bubble with more water. Its a matter of mid to long range of attacks which they both have plenty of.
@@noudleboy I don’t think it would be that simple. Kisame is a master water style ninja but I don’t think he can control it to that extent. And depending on how potent the venom is there really doesn’t need to be much in the water to be effective. And by the time Kisame senses it it’ll already be in his bloodstream attacking his nervous system (especially since Orochimaru specializes in paralysis poison) Kisame would probably avoid that technique entirely bc it could be used against him so easily

Human sacrifices for edo is not standard. You have to specify, and thats a seperate battle. Especially w orochimaru. Otherwise how many sacrifices does he get? 2? 100? 1,000? Can he edo madara as part of his standard load out?
