      In a world where people are glued to their phones, the short wave became a place for the few and holds more power than ever.
      When cell service can go down from a software bug or a few well placed rockets, the world of HF can and will still convey vital information, all across the planet.

    The "Troika" 3MHz crowd with their mix of homebrew/ancient unstable AM gear and SSB can sometimes be heard in the medium wave "pirates band" 1.6-1.8MHz, mixed in with Dutch and Serbian pirate broadcasts. This makes me feel nostalgic in a way (not the sampling style of mixed German and Russian profanity but rather the shortwave component). Starting out with an old 1937 RCA Victor and single-wire antebba in middle school, I went up to a Realistic DX-200 in high school and university to a Kenwood R5000 with additional filters and dipole antennas for different metre bands up to 1995. A listening station in my pad in the basement. Log books. WRTH. Maps on bulletin boards with coloured pins for number of times heard. QSL cards. My radio was a dear friend hours upon hours every night/365 🥲🤔🤔🤔🤔🥲 Thank you for your videos and sounds that that tug at the heart-strings. ❤❤

    The war in Ukraine is in fact several wars in one:
    1/ civil war between west and east Ukraine
    2/ territorial war between Ukraine and Russia
    3/ proxy war between the US and Russia
    4/ unfinished business of WW2
    The last component is becoming more apparent every single day, as this video documents.

    • @vmosiichuk
      @vmosiichuk Před 6 měsíci

      Nice try, but the only war that is happening in Ukraine from 2014 is a russian proxy war that has evolved into a full scale war in 2022.
      1) Classic russian fairy tale about Ukraine being divided into 3 sorts to promote separatism (supported only for the ‘russian world’ followers - don’t remember that russia approved the same thing in Ichkeria).
      3) Propaganda that aims to show that it’s not Ukrainians, russians cannot compete with, but the ‘Collective West’. The main point is always the enlargement of NATO, but I don’t see that russia is attacking Finland. The reason being that they don’t see Ukraine as an independent state and all the logic is based on the fact that they want to ‘divide’ the world into spheres of imperial interests with the US.
      4) All of it combined with the ‘Great-Power chauvinism’ that is being openly translated by putin in his latest interview really shows that russia wants the world as of 14th of May 1955 or at least 10th of January 1941, since they consider themselves a ‘successor’ of the USSR (if somebody have not seen it, he justifies Hitler attacking Poland, denies existence of Ukrainians, by basing their claim on medieval ‘Rus’ by substituting historical concepts and events, glorifies stalin’s red terror regime and seriously proposes to split Ukraine with Hungary).

    Interesting video! Thanks! For those interested in short wave listening, just wanted to throw in my two cents: I have a Malahit dsp2 + receiver... It has a nice looking display some interesting features and an attractive price, but the touch screen keypad doesn't work very well, and sensitivity of the receiver is very poor. Poor sensitivity can be particularly problematic when using an untuned magnetic loop antenna, though if you use an untuned loop with a preamp, like the affordable MLA-30, you can actually achieve acceptable results. Anyway, you get what you pay for! The best SDRs I've found to date would be the ones made by SDR-Play, though I'm sure there are many other very good ones on the market. Icom IC-7300 transceivers, by the way, have really excellent receivers! Good luck and happy listening to all short wave listeners out there!

AKKORD is completely different in it's structure of transmission.
