I'm with @Ardipithecus100. I've traveled extensively, visited many cathedrals for their architectural achievement and wonderful acoustics. I'm not a catholic nor a christian. I've visited this cathedral twice. Antoni Gaudí understood the concept of wellness through architecture before the idea was "invented". The scale of the project, the white stone, the colors of the light seeping through the stained glass, the organic columns resembling tree trunks... Anyone who has found a moment of G-d in a forest, will surely find it here. This basilica is always crowded and yet, it manages to create a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere. It is a jewel I hope to return to and one I always leave wishing I had visited longer.
The world's longest construction project? For churches, try the cathedral of Milan which started construction in 1386 and was finished in 1932 or the Cologne cathedral which was started in 1248 and finished in 1880. Or for other buildings, the Great Wall of China which took over 2000 years to build. Hardly the longest construction project I think, but impressive non the less
The outside is amaing. I saw it in 2018. I was not ready for the interior. It must been seen in person to understand how amazing it is.
