- Hey party people! Thanks so much for hanging out with me while I share with you this new closet declutter! I also go through and declutter, clean, & organize my dresser / drawers along with my wardrobe / closet! It felt so good to get rid of well over half of my stuff! If I had to calculate I would say it's precisely 75% of my clothes / closet crap! I hope this video gives you some motivation or inspiration, or at the very least I hope you have a good time hanging out with me!

I gave my wedding gown to a lady that did consignment, she was able to get good use of it, I will not need it ever again. I also want to thank you for introducing me to Madras lentils, so good.

I kept a bunch of stuff to make a quilt that I then realized....admitted? That it would turn into a quilt that would go into a tote to keep nice, that would move to a kids house still living in the tote in the basemnt....until the end of time. I decided not to waste my time or space on something that will live in totes for eternity. I have 4 totes from my childhood that live in my basement.. .that I've opened maybe once in 20 years......but guilt doesn't let me declutter it. Its okay, I live in the midwest we have basements. 😉🤣
so if you DID make a quilt,,,,,,,,,,,would it be a guilt quilt lol

Well hold on... pump the breaks. Filling them is not the problem. Filling them with clothes you will wear is.
That's what I did. After I got rid of a bunch of my clothes that I never wore, I still had so many hangers taking up my closet. I got rid of about 2/3 of my hangers and now I can only have as many clothes as fit on those hangers. 😆❤️

My 13-year younger sister was recently my “voice of reason” as we went through my closets and 50 (+) totes in my attic as we are planning to move to Floria within the next 2 months - I feel your AGONY in giving up and/or donating items

I’m so glad CZcams put your video on my feed. I just worked out on our rowing machine watching you declutter with ease and some belly laughs! So satisfying to watch someone go through their stuff, especially with a sense of humor. You don’t have to go full minimalist, but I have found that shopping for my current reality (5 pounds heavier than I was 10 years ago, at home with five boys all day but still want to get “dressed”, everything must be functional and machine-washable, etc.) has helped avoid spending money on things that I’ll never wear.
This is just the best way to start off the morning

I watched one of your older closet clean out videos. You make it so easy to get rid of things. I have been putting off the closet clean for quite some time. I started in 2019 and became overwhelmed and stopped. Then I lost 40 lbs and was glad that I didn't because I was actually wearing stuff that I was going to donate. And I put off the cleaning again. I am doing it today and taking a break to be inspired by you once again. Let me tell you it is helping me SO MUCH. thanks for helping me to get thru this task!

This video inspired me so much. I have been needing to declutter my closet for so long. After watching this on Saturday morning I decided this weekend was when I was going to start. I decided not to do it all in one day and I divided it up in sections. I am happy to report I got through about 90% of my whole closet and am getting rid of about 60% of things. I still have some bins that I keep heavy sweaters in and have a closet that put dresses in that I hold for special occasions but once I am through those I have gone through all my clothes. What a good feeling this has been. Long over due! Thank you Kim for the motivation.
I just got rid of a whole bag of clothes! I had been feeling like I needed to get rid of more stuff since I did the KonMari method in 2017, but didn’t see anything I really didn’t want. I took is ALLLLL out since I got some of those flocked hangers that seem to be required to be an adult. Finally pulled the trigger when my older kids needed big hangers and I found some in rose gold and blush pink! Sooooo fancy! I sank over 30 bucks on 90 of them. Got all the main clothes done. Need some for my maternity section. I also remolded all my stuff and I can’t stop looking at it. It really helps to take it all out!

I love your braided hairstyle! You look cool, fresh, elegant, but ready to work, and decluttering is real work. It’s mentally, and for me, physically exhausting because my huge wardrobe is spread over closets on three floors. My fave synonym for ruthless = cut-throat, it’s so concrete!
Decluttering is always fun ( at least for me). You never know what your gonna find the pile of crap on the floor. You also realize you have a lot of stuff you don’t need/use that just takes up space. Great job Kim!
I did this to my closet during the "lock down". I have to admit that this past Christmas I went to put on a Christmas sweater only to realize I had decluttered them. There was some regret, but I survived.

When I have shirts like that I just actually turn them into pillows but I have so many now that I'm making a patch quilt out of old shirts that have images or patterns I love

Girl! This was awesome! I’m like you - decluttering my entire home and being ruthless about what’s staying/going. Even if I still like it, if I’m not wearing it or using it, it’s history! It can bless someone else and bring them joy - I may be moving too at some point and I don’t want to have to do this work then; doing it now and my Future Self will love me!

The cleaners put my wedding dress in a beautiful keepsake box. It has a panel of clear so you can see the bodice of it. And it doesn't take up much room, so it's on a shelf in my closet.....
