Ellen had a crazy night. She was up at 2 a.m. trying to figure out which smoke alarm was beeping. Thankfully, she found a great solution -- the Nest Protect!
this kind of marketting is very effective coming from a big trusted personality such as ellen, most of the fans are not expectting this marketing dawaa from her,and she is catching the audience off guard, FIRST she starts telling her problem, 2ND she discusses it, 3RD she find the problem 4TH she solves it,,AND LAST she tells the way the problem is solved or making sure not happen again.. it all happen ellen style THAT is making audience on her side first , She might have at least charged this company 1 $ pr unit sold for next 24 months,, imagine the income of that...
She can't charge the company per unit sold, because it's not a sure bet that the person is buying it due to Ellen. More likely they settled on a more permanent contract to endorse, in which the audience members' nests were included for free.
i suppose thats true. its just silly because she made out that she bought everybody one, where the company most likely just gave them to the production team and then some writers worked with ellen to create a monologue based on fire alarms or whatever.
I think the story is probably true but she struck up a deal with the company where she'd give them a free endorsement on the air if they bought one for everyone in her audience. In other words, this really did happen to her and she really does like that product so much that she felt like talking about it, then she figured since she was plugging a product she might as well go the whole 9. That kind of thing does happen.
The best part about this video is the fact that the smoke detector in my room is dying so it's constantly beeping and when ellen says "and i woke up, and you know what it was?" after she says this my alarm beeps and she says "exactly" at 0:48-0:51 I had a mini freak about how funny that was xD

rsvpnow I can just press a button (the test button) and it stops then after 3 seconds
rsvpnow use a nine volt I think and it still chirps a while after changing the battery but it'll stop after a while.
Oh and also the reason why it still beeps is because it needs to clear its error (which is why it chirps)
