  • Marko Hietala - bass and vocals for Nightwish and Tarot shares his thoughts regarind the release of his debut hardprog album: Pyre of the Black Heart (in fin.:Mustan Sydämen Rovio) earlier thi year. New solo album is full of surprises and high quality music.
    In this interview Marko reveals origins of some of the songs as well as shares his plans for the upcoming Middle-European tour. The music video for the "Kiviä" single will be out already in November 2019. The English version of his debut solo album "Pyre Of The Black Heart" will be out on Nuclear Blast on the 24th of January 2020 as well as on Bapu IOS audio player. Tune in and enjoy!

    I was hoping he would acknowledge the similarities between Stones and the Deep Purple song, Stormbringer.

      @@aliveandkickingohyea You can really hear it in Stones from about 2:40 - 3:15, including key change and the sound of the guitar solo.

      @@AGDinCA It's more just a rithym thing, in stones it goes on a much larger scale. While it has something that ressambles it I doubt it was something concious. But Deep Purple probably is one of his many inspirations

      before I did read the reactions (and yours too), I already had this flash of a thought at 1 point: Stormbringer of Deep Purple. Because I listened sooo many times to Stormbringer and also the latest version by David Coverdale/Whitesnake. So you're not the only one. Sorry, just saw this interview only now and not sooner.
