It would be so hard to find such authentic interpretations of maqam music nowadays with musicians often watering down the music in order to make it accessible to western ears. Besides how many musicians have the privilege of being Tanrikorur's students

There are tons of great musicians still nowadays. You have just to look for the right ppl in Turkey. It´s just not death and will not die soon.
