The structure was inspired by Elizabeth from Cat's Menagerie's Swamp Façade tutorial found here:

a great example of a focused design idea and how lighting helps tell the story
the Bayou shack reminds me so much of the scene on the Disneyland Pirates of the Caribbean ride. I expected the old fella on the porch rocking in his chair and plucking his banjo.
awesome display! the witch looks so real, when your lifted up her dress to show her mechanism, I expected her to stop stirring and give you a smack across the face and say
"God Dern ya! don't mess with matters that don't concern ya! 🤣
Killer yard haunt!
I loved the laser projection! Its a must for my next haunted house
Amazing attention to detail, great work! Can’t wait to see your setup next year.
The render in the night with the lights is just amazing and all the details !
awesome job, thanks for posting...
This is the absolute best kind of haunter content out there. Thank you for taking the time to explain your processes and give insights into how you haunt! I have so much more inspiration now - that laser swamp effect is stunning.
Thank you Ryan and we're glad it was inspiring! We have learned so much from other haunters posting content, this was just our way to give back to the haunt community. Cheers
Thank you for taking the time to post this how to facade of your shack. Building anything to those of us without handyman skills can seem daunting, but you broke the structure down, section by section, and pointed out the details and hints to anyone wanting to pattern theirs after yours. Thank you once again for making such a build less intimidating.
Great job! So creative and realistic!
U make this sound so,simple. Great job !
Fantastic!! Great explanation of your work!
Looks so good ! Happy Halloween !
Well done! Great vid! Thanks!
I can't tell you how much I love this.

Outstanding work. You are inventive!
This is an absolute masterpiece!
Yet another incredible display. Love the lighting on this one. Your videos are very inspiring, thanks for sharing.
That laser effect is legit. I need to steal that idea! Great work.
I live in S. Louisiana and I am a haunter. This is right up my alley, or down the Bayou! All my props I make have a swampy feel. Love this.
Great job and great tutorial. Fantastic work! I'm sure the neighborhood kids loved your house the most.
Fantastic stuff! :-) Congratulations!
Wow! That is absolutely amazing!! You are so very creative! Halloween is my favorite holiday to decorate for and this was right up my spooky alley. Love it!
Absolutely incredible!!! I love it!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!

WITCHES are my FAVORITE Halloween Monster/Icon! Great Job!
I just stumbled upon your awesome channel and instantly subbed.
And then I noticed it flipped from 999 subs to 1,000 subs.
I guess it was meant to be.
Your props are awesome and your narration is so smooth.
Best wishes 👍
Well.... Congratulations on being our 1,000th subscriber! We appreciate it and hope that it inspires the work of others.
You inspire me to try harder for next year's Halloween. You dude, are amazing!
This is too perfect. The whole effect is top notch. Brilliant use of the swamp laser. Great work. 💖🎃🔥
Very nice work loved it.
this is really cool !
You are a GENIUS !
I love everything about this!! I just bought a house and already planned to do a swamp witch theme. I decided to look to CZcams for more inspiration, and yours was the first video I saw! SO MUCH wonderful inspiration!! I will definitely be incorporating some of this in my original idea! Thanks so much for sharing!
Omg this is absolutely ahhmazing!!💜
great display, very impressed.
Wow, I really liked this. Easy to understand talk about how you did it, and a beautiful display.
Thank you so much!

THIS SET UP IS AMAZING!
This is THE BEST SET UP I'VE SEEN SINCE DISNEY LAND!
👏😁
You are so very talented, it's really nice of you to share your masterpiece with the community...
People will surely remember the great spooky 👻 memories you gave them!
Really nice ! 🎃
Wow, thank you!
Dude, you are my hero!
We are just out here tryin' to haunt lol
That is amazing!
SO COOL!!!!
So many clever tricks & tips! We wanted to make a new stirring witch this year, and you've given me some good ideas for sure.
Glad it was helpful!
I love the cohesiveness--everything ties together beautifully. It's so easy to over do displays like this or to include a prop that doesn't fit the theme just because it's really cool. That may be the best use of a laser swamp I've ever seen. Kudos!
Thank you Hayward Haunter. Totally agree... this was a scene, it needed dark spots and highlights. It is easy for people to just add a lot and sometimes those can be fun, but when you are trying to take people out of where they are and transport them somewhere else, focusing ion key items and letting them tell the story is the best way to go.
Hey man, that is some Halloween sprit there! Thanks for posting
Thanks! We are a bit nuts when it comes to Halloween.
Wow I actually thought that the witch was a real person, amazing display you are very talented.🎃👍 I just added this comment as someone said below I too like the creepy magical displays not the gory bloody body part displays this is perfect!!!!
Oh my..this looks so good. You make it sound like I can pull something like this off too...thanks to your detailed walkthrough
Thanks for the inspiration overload ...as af my Halloween to do list didn't already reach Mars 🤪
Happy haunting!
Kristen, don't think about it.. just do it!
Good job dude
That's 1 awesome work
Nice job
HAVE YOU NO SHAME!!!! No warning! You just pulled her dress up😳
😱😂👻
Great video and love the props…
LOL! I guess we should have pixelated her under parts.
Great job cousin.
Thanks!
The raddest most amazing thing ever!
Love the work really gave me some great ideas this year for my voodoo jungle them haunt
Awesome! Good luck with your haunt this year!
Bravo!
A real passion for HALLOWEEN!!🎃 We do a show every year since 1996, and this inspiration will help us expand and add new and creepy things too!! BTW, I just subscribed!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN 24/7, 365!!
That's awesome! Please get inspired and Happy Halloween to ya'll too!!
I absolutely love this entire set up, you are a genius! Btw your neighborhood looks like a Hollywood set 😂
I’m new here. Love Halloween I decorate 2 months early every year. I’m so glad I found you
Welcome!!
Amazing 🖤🕷🕸🧙♀️🐀
Awesome
Very cool
lol you"re a genius brotherman!
wowzers!
#LEGENDARY!!!!!
Good job
Painting the jars with school glue works just as well as the frosted spray for a cheaper alternative, if needed.
Genius!!
Great job on your yard! I have subscribed! I don't know if you know about this trick but you can put mulch over the fog pipe and wet the mulch down before you use it and it helps hold the fog to the ground in windy situations. Love your yard swamp too!
Thats a great tip thanks for sharing and thanks for subscribing!
❤️❤️👻.I just found you tonight! The swamp house is amazing! I have never made a structure for outdoors. I know personally that you can spend hours sketching layouts, creating new props and think your light layout is going to do the trick. I just love to create and have no skill in lighting, sometimes I have gotten lucky especially with choices on the market versus 20 yrs ago. The swamp effect made me want to try using fog effects again. My dad had one of the first haunted houses in Kansas City, Ks in the early ‘60’s. Boswell’s house of horrors! The classic characters: he was Dracula, his 6’7” friend was Frankensteins monster and another wore a convincing werewolf full costume. Mother was a witch. I inherited her witches cackle so witches are my main characters in my old school little haunts. You’ve made me want to set up my last haunt before I hand it over to the next generation. I’m slow now and it’s really too late to make a structure, but I really like your ideas . I like your swamp fog design. Looking forward to watching your other videos. Happy haunting from Peculiar, Missouri👻👻💀
Stacy, that is an absolute amazing story... and in itself is exactly why we do what we do... to make memories for kids who one day may become haunters like us. We usually take December and January off.. then we are back on it in February. It does take some planning but when you see a vision just got for it!
Brilliant 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Chris!
awesome
Love Love this! Amazing work, looks like something that should be a scene at an amusement park. Thank you for explaining everything, you made it seem very simple. I just have to say it, this has over 1.1k likes, with over 32,340 views and I'm super annoyed that there are 8 dislikes (excuse me, 8 haters) for this awesome video.. @CZcams needs to just do away with the dislike button, It's seriously useless.
I love it ! You should play Jim Stafford's song "swamp witch Heidi" along with your sound fx .
Who would give you thumbs down very cool set up impressive must be a Karen in your neighborhood lol keep the cool videos coming 👍🏻
Wow beautiful yard haunt and props, great job! I absolutely love that shack, amazing details! Was this your first year doing a haunt, cuz dang this is impressive!😄🎃👍
Grim, Jason here... Wasn't my first but definitely my biggest and most focused. Over the past 5 years it's been growing and growing. This year I decided to make something I can use for a few years at least. Normally it's a clean slate. I appreciate your complements. We are already hard at work on both of our Haunts already for this year! Don't forget me if you ever make more of those Gremlin ornaments!
@@HolyCityHaunters If you where to buy new fog machine for for outdoor, what would you buy?
@@donardmaniaci8831 I'm using a Chauvet Hurricane 1302. It's an excellent machine but discontinued. The Hurricane 1200 or 1600 should be what you are in the market for, depending on your size and needs.
@@HolyCityHaunters
I have a chauvet fog machine but I have never used it.
I am disabled and with the fog machine at ground level I would struggle to be able to keep filling the liquid tank.
If the timer is on 5 minute pause and 5 seconds ON how long do you think a gallon of fog liquid would last?
Many thanks 👍
My displays are only out from 29th oct until the morning of 1st nov.
Looks good in the dark. I like the smooth movement. One correction, that’s 1/2” PVC for the frame, not 3/4”.
Absolutely love this. You really put so much detail and thought into your haunts. I’ve been making some of my own animated props for a few years now. Your laser swamp effect is amazing! Id like to do this for my front yard this year. I have an aluminum boat as a flower planter in a low lying area in my front yard and it would be so cool if I could get that water effect there. I was gonna put a couple of jigging skeletons in the boat and this would really set the scene off. What type of lasers did you use and where could I find them? We’re they high end lasers or would cheaper versions do?
Man I see a designer for Knot's Scary Farm for Halloween Horror Night's. The theme of the swamp is a new and different theme. Then with the addition of the Witch is a serious Halloween touch. The only addition I can think of would be maybe some creature's that the witch cast a spell, hex, or curse on.
Oh how we would love to go to that!
I'm actually making a swamp this year. It's going to have a goblin, a witch, and possibly a scarecrow
O! My!💜💜💜💜💜
I love this! I love Halloween. I wonder if there's a job that pays for doing something like this.
Put some lights for her eyes. To make her pop a little more
Great work!!! Ah man. Are you out in Charleston? Would love to see this live haha
Yes we are. We are in Windsor Hill off Ashley Phosphate Rd.
Fog machine or dry ice would help a lot for the cauldron.
Love this!! What did you end up using as your black out to block out some of your house?
Can’t believe I haven’t found your channel before - I actually live in the Holy City myself and rarely see stuff from this area. We do a big party for the kids’ classes every year and I need a swamp! Thanks for the inspiration! Quick question, how much weight do you think the wiper motors can actually take? I’m looking for the simplest solution to moving things without using pistons, sensors, and timers - this year going for less startle scares and more of a fun and creepy environment. (The compressor/hydraulic props always seem to fail on the big night - probably because I have no expert knowledge of these things and we fly by the seat of our pants each year).
AWESOME stuff! Sad part is, where I live in North Carolina, no one trick or treats any more.
If you build it, they will come. Advertise. It may take a year or two but you will get repeat customers year after year.
love the Haunt really nice work ! every year i want to make a façade but i just never get to it !! HFL!!
Just go for it.. its worth the effort and isn't too much of work.
It's OK to cut the dress into segments if you need to get it on. Generally, if you split it up the back it's easy to slip the "arms" through the sleeves and adjust the dress behind the figure.
Thats what I had to do for the most part.. she has some broad shoulders lol
Hey can you provide a link to the laser lights you used to create the water/swamp effect?
Can you add a list of the materials you used please
she is beyond awesome. come build me one!!
What fogger and fog juice did u use if you don’t mind me asking?
All of this is so amazing! Such great inspiration for my Witches Cottage I'm working on. I especially love your tree of the dead. How did you mount it to keep it standing? Just rear? Thanks 😊
Yes, I used 6ft pieces of rebar driven into the ground to stand everything up.
@@HolyCityHaunters thanks so much
Great scene and explanation. Could you let us know the make and model of the lasers and maybe where you got them? Thanks
Warchild, we used MXTLaser brand 520nm class IIIA line lasers. They are about 35 bucks on Amazon but order them now, they are coming out of china and it took 2 months for them to arrive last year.
@@HolyCityHaunters great thank you for the quick reply and information
