I have been building scale model kits since I was a kid. That was in the '60s. Yeah I been at it for a long time. Now that I am older and not lifting weights anymore or practicing martial arts OR running a small business anymore, I have to say there is nothing I Iike doing more than building scale model kits. I love it. Nice way to spend time and I like your channel. Nice tips. Thanks
As a near 70 year old model builder, all I can say say is - - CARRY ON! I always tried to make each new build a little better than the last, When I had cars that won shows, I thought I must be doing ok. Then I got a call from someone halfway across the country that had seen pics of one of my cars in a national magazine! He wanted to know how I had done something on a custom leadsled that caught his eye....THEN I knew I had 'done good'! Enjoy the great hobby!
Nice builds! I actually just got back into building again. Hadn't built anything in over 20 years and picked up an AMT 55 Corvette kit. Took my time to build it, and was surprised how great it came out! As soon as I finished it I was out buying another kit and can't remember what stopped my building them the first time around! I've seen a lot of good detailing videos on CZcams, and lots of good ideas that I'm gonna be trying... the quality of the build is definitely in the time and patience you end up putting into it! Enjoy, and again, nice builds!
I like your laid back and easy narration job. To many 'professional model makers' get so crazy and anal that a model build becomes a stressful, intense job. This is supposed to be fun and relaxing! Keith, USN/Ret
Nice job, I am just getting back into the hobby myself. The best part about building models is the possibilities are endless of how YOU want to build it!. Just as an FYI you can make anything fit with ingenuity and an adapter kit.
Great job, and nice-looking builds. Your presentation is cool. I'm not a beginner, but there's been years of gaps between builds, so, I'm always willing to learn. I've learned a couple of valuable tips just from watching this vid. Nice, nice work. Subbed, and yes, keep 'em coming. Cheers.
Thanks! Same, I haven’t had time to build anything for a while. I’m an active duty service member so there are definitely gaps in my builds. Any tips that might help on the next one?
One cool thing I used many times: various thicknesses of solder. Great for engine wiring, brake lines, vacuum hoses, battery cables. They can be pre-formed easily and take model paint surprisingly well (a lot easier than thread)
Nice job on your kits! Im just kind of getting back into car/truck modelling- I build mostly aircraft and ships. I just recently completed that GT350 as a gift for my father (who always wanted one). You'qre abqsoluqtely correct about arts being fidgety, the AMT semi Im working on now (just started is gonna be a complete nightmare, because of the instructions- Much like your Ford 350, everything is just kind of all over the place, diagram wise. I love a challenge! :)
Nice build!👍 I recently built this truck, and definitely ran into a few problems. Not so much with instructions but the styrene it self. But with a little tweaking and trimming , it came together nicely . And I was happy with end results, that's really all that matters. Just have with it and make it your own. Very nice job with your motor!!! Thanks for the Video and keep on modeling.
they look great and there your personal builds so u can do wat u want to your builds cause there your own personal touches I think they all turned out well .nice job and in real life we all know people swap HEMI,s into everything now .drift cars .drag cars all types but I appreciate it great bit of knowledge not long doing CZcams unboxing s and I've showed builds I done while learning and I've even some to be recovered from terrible turned out builds that I'll take on again but you've new supporter from me so great work
Interesting build on the Super Stones kit. Many of the shortcomings with this particular one date back to when it was first issued 50 years ago, in 1973....though most of us are aware this particular kit is a reissue of the 1978 version, and almost all of us wish it was not based on the F-350 model. (Correct 8' resin beds are available, however) Most of the body proportions look ok, but the windshield is set too low and the taillights don't look accurate to me, at least. Not to mention the incorrect position of the steering wheel
Good tip, I’ll look into it! This was just a video on how to add detail by using what you have around the house without investing extra money if you’re not going to pursue the hobby. Thanks for your support!
I’m working on the Ford truck, so far only mocked up the bed, tailgate wouldn’t close flush, passenger side inner panel was too long had to shorten it a bit. I removed the lower body rocker molding, looked out of scale, will probably remove upper molding however it’s a bit harder being it’s in a recess body line. Compared to my Revell Early Bronco the casting is lots softer and thinner.
Take your tires and lightly sand the treads with about a 320 or 400 grit sand paper. It removes the gloss and the seam lines...it gives you a realistic look. :-)
Two simple things also. Sand the seams on the transmission and sand the tire treads. Simple but adds a little realism. I would only use thread if I couldn't get fine wire.
Sounds awesome! I’d love to get into that hobby but my time is pretty limited. Maybe I can build and sell... I’m gonna look into that! Thanks for the support!
Paint looks good. I been using paint cans too. Problem I've been having is the paint having lines or drop spots. How did you do it? Your details look great!
Josh Haney Three coats. Just mounted a red plastic cup on a paper plate then secured the body to the cup so I could evenly paint the body... it’s a good throw away solution. Let it cure for a week before handling. Thanks for the comment and compliments!
First two models you talked about are diecast that you're making look more real? I have thought about doing that to some of my diecast since I have a few engines left from old builds.
Definitely amature test fit ! Before you glue ! thread for wire outdated ! Strip old usb cords cheap .this video for beginners.liked the jewelry wire for fuel and break lines
Yeah I was just starting out at the time and usually have a lot of different art projects running. I didn’t bother looking up tips and tricks myself before the builds. Just a few thinks people might have laying around if they are not fully invested in the hobby that might add some detail. Thanks for the support!
True but if you pay attention to the instructions (as limited as they are) you won’t make the mistake of not removing the tabs. Being able to follow basic instructions is pretty fundamental to kit building... if a person lacks that skill I can’t help them lol.
That's one of the shortcomings with this kit, which .BTW has been around since the 70s. Every one I've built, I've had to reset the steering column at a more realistic angle.
i'm a car guy too don't have money to buy the real one's and i'm on the back side of life speaking for my self don't want to get sued over age i'm 62 old dog can't learn new trick's but can learn new trick's i think
Davidjohn Miller more like passing them on... what I found most helpful from others and passing on mistakes while they were fresh on my mind. Thanks for the comment!
78's had round headlights on the Custom trim level only. All trim levels above Custom had rectangular lights in 78. I know...I had a Custom and ordered it that way because I didn't like the rectangular.
look's like this is not your model i wish you fellow's would use a part's list and what you use as for drill bit's and wire so we don't have to keep ask you every time we see the video and sand paper i'm one to ask about every thing all the time this is not your first time you have done a model thank you wayne from titusville fla.
The ‘68 was my first but I enjoy art of every kind so I do have experience with painting and detail works just not on scale models of cars. I’m a car guy and I had some free time at the time so I figured why not? Lol. I don’t remember the size of the bit and I’ve moved on to other things so I haven’t built a scale model for a couple of years now. I might get back into it. Thanks for your support!

what size drill bit do you use for plug wire's

subbed just starting on posting vids still learning how to do vids/ been building 40+ years mostly post apocalypse stuff
Awesome! Going to try my hand at an apocalypse build for the next one!
You said you didn’t know why people complained about that truck model then you explained what was challenging about it...
True but if you pay attention to the instructions (as limited as they are) you won’t make the mistake of not removing the tabs. Being able to follow basic instructions is pretty fundamental to kit building... if a person lacks that skill I can’t help them lol.
What’s going on with the steering wheel on that 78?
Bet it's not glued in place yet so he can hook up the steering linkage when he starts glueing up the front end. I've done it on semi's steering.
That's one of the shortcomings with this kit, which .BTW has been around since the 70s. Every one I've built, I've had to reset the steering column at a more realistic angle.
I built this truck, hardest instructions I've ever read. Turned out like shit.

Salut my friend super car super video subscribe subscribe ..
That F series is a '79.
If it were a '79, the headlights would be round
Square headlights were a option for 1978 standard on 79
Do not think he is very good at building model cars
