Hunting Island is South Carolina’s single most popular state park, attracting more than a million visitors a year, as well as a vast array of land and marine wildlife. With five miles of pristine beaches, thousands of acres of marsh and maritime forest, a saltwater lagoon and ocean inlet are all part of the park’s natural allure. Hunting Island is home to the historic Hunting Island lighthouse and the famous Boneyard Beach. Such a pretty park. Last time we visited deer were prolific. You’ll have to come on down to Venice Beach, Fl for shark teeth.

@@thewrightlife We have family in the Venice, Florida area so we visit there often. Stump Pass Beach on Manasota Key is a shell collectors paradise! Sanibel Island is known for its shells, but we think Stump Pass is better. 😁

Don't apend a ton of money on beach chairs, they don't hold up with the salt. Thank you both for your service to our country. October is our preferred SC beach time, the ocean is still warm.

Where’d you go for dinner? Hope you checked out Johnson Creek Tavern, great seafood an so so close to the park.
We met some friends for dinner, but I don’t recall the name of the restaurant.
Many great meals there.
This is such a beautiful place, but you probably picked the worst month of the year to visit. The heat and humidity is brutal in July and August.
Some things you learn the hard way. 😕. We hope to go back but in the spring or fall. Happy camping and safe travels.
My wife and I would meet a group of friends there during the winter, Hang around a fire in the morning and evening. Many beautiful and interesting places off the island too.
