This game went from "it will be free to play, just invest this once up front and we will never put anything important behind a paywall" to "just keep giving us money for every significant new thing". I haven't bought the expansion. I bought the most expensive package originally, and I certainly could buy the expansion, but I don't appreciate getting lied to.
I feel this in my soul. I was shocked when I saw they changed it from FTP- I'd been waiting so I could play across platforms. I totally get paying for DLC but having to pay for both after learning how hard it is to play on the Switch feels like a big FU to Nintendo players.
Honestly I made a candy land biome in part of my frosted heights for venelope. Then used the blue willows and rocks to block it off and hide it from the rest of the frosted heights. Almost every person that had visited my valley had loved my candy land the most. I feel like you just need to get creative with it. A whole candy land biome might be to much unless they bring way more homes and buildings for it.
Oh yeah it can definitely be a more difficult build. I didn’t know where to put it at first. Also if you don’t buy the premium shop items I could also see it being difficult I used the train, candy house & the candy cane items to also decorate that area.
I incorporated vanellopes' house and the sweet house into my Christmas town in Frosted Heights. I decorated around both houses to make it look more like a candy workshop that you would find in Christmas town.
I just added Vanellope's house to my theme park. Her house is in the middle of the racetrack with her racer on the track. I put candy cane trees , lollipops, cardboard cutout monsters, and pretty purple trees in the racetrack section only. Now it just looks like a themed racetrack in the theme park.
@@sarahkwast1250 I have Buzz with Woody in the sunlit plaza by the pond. I moved Scar out into the other big area near Nala and Simba’s houses. They all fit in the area and blend nicely. Then I put WallE in Scar’s old area with alot of his outdoor furniture and orange cones etc. He’s handy to grab to go help garden for pumpkins up in the forgotten lands.

I agree, a proper Candy Biome or a new Snowy Biome to move Vanellope's house to would be great to have in the next expansion. In the meantime, I wouldn't mind seeing a few Valentine's Day themed items in the next Starpath or Special event so I can better blend Vanellope's Candy styled house into my Frosted Heights. Since Wall-E's House resembles a Construction vehicle, I put him where Chez Remy originally was on Eternity Isle. Now EVE & Wall-E live in the same Biome/Valley.
I get a lot of use from all the ancient 'appliances'. The last one I tried out just yesterday - the Ancient Vacuum. Wow! I ended up making enough of the 3rd level ones to put one in every biome of the Valley, and every area that is 'independent' of others in Eternity Isle. I can't believe that I wasn't interested at first. In the Forgotten Lands, it neatly solves the problem of a lack of dark wood. The wood spawns a lot faster than I thought, and although it is hard to spot when foraging (due to colours and lighting) I no longer have to worry about that - the vacuum brings in about 8 pieces of dark wood every half hour or less. Love, Love, LOVE these machines! :)
I got the base game on thanksgiving in anticipation for the dlc 😅. I decided to work towards unlocking the characters and biomes first, and I’ve been slowly questing and leveling all the characters. I have 10 total left to get to level 10 but I’m enjoying playing the game depending on how I’m feeling at the time. I’ll have days where all I really do is check Scrooges shop and pick and plant my pumpkins and pineapples (I have the gardening machines so it’s easy passive income for me lol). And I have other days where I’m giving favorite gifts, grinding resources and working towards leveling. I also have two basic cookers, one in my main valley and one on the isle, and I don’t really plan on upgrading only because I use them strictly for berry salad for extra energy. I don’t really need more than those two because when the stack in my backpack gets in the 30’s I grab what’s made and then let it cook a new batch. For me, the basic cooker is perfect
I LOVE the cookers. I have 2 by my main houses on the plaza and the new DLC. I put 5 pumpkins in and cook them. Even though it’s a 3 star item the price isn’t the same. I am making tons of money this way. Cooking up 300 pumpkins at one time I go and collect mist etc while they are cooking. When my backpack is full and I need to unload, my pumpkins are done and can go sell them. So much easier!
I like using the Cookers to make Fruitcake Energy Bars. The only drawback to using the Gardeners is you can't get the extra Pumpkins from Mini-games or a Hangout Buddy.
@@DavidChilson I do the gardening separately from my mist. I go grab one of my timebenders then. WallE and Eve hang near me a lot so it’s easy to switch.
@@DavidChilsononly if you use the gardening machines to do the picking. I pick them myself and still get all the bonuses, so the set it and forget it until they need picked is great for me 😊
There is one major flaw to the cookers and thats the waiting, you have to wait for say 30 pumpkin puffs, the idea everyone had for bulk cooking was to cook more than one of an item and then have it straight away. if your waiting for 30 pumpkin puffs its quicker to just cook the puffs yoruself and you'll have 30 done within a minute or so but the coooker would take too long. Thats the only major flaw i see with it.
I LOVE Vanellope’s house!!! It’s one of my favorites! I actually want to make a model of it in real life. And the premium shop sweet house. I used them both in my candy land build which I LOVE so much
I absolutely love the auto cooker. I have the advanced cooker and already have a couple of them spread throughout the isle and all over the valley. I’m glad I don’t have to waste time in the kitchen unless I have to do a task.

I kinda like her house, but I get it doesn't always fit, tho I don't always think that matters:) I have her in the frosted heights, which I think works well. I would love a candy biome tho!! I haven't banished anyone or their homes lol. but I would like to move some people, haven't done that yet. I agree with you on the ancient machines. Initially, it looks like they are a bit disappointing, but when you realise their potential, at the advanced level, it's hard to argue they are beneficial. 8:36 if their Dreamlight didn’t disappear from their back-up account it’s definitely a possibility. Maybe that’s why the fix got pushed to 2024 so they have enough time to give everyone their Dreamlight back
I would settle for the ability to make more of the peppermint tree's to make my own. What they give you isn't enough for a whole biome. I can see them perhaps bringing more candy items with a new Starpath and/or add Wreck-it Ralph. I doubt they'll add a candy biome for us unless they make it just a realm to get Wreck-it Ralph from. They could also be greedy and hear the community's want for a candy biome and lock that behind a paywall with premium shop.
I was on the fence about buying the DLC, because it was expensive, and I'd never bought a DLC before, so I didn't really know what I was paying for. However, after the live stream on 1st November, I was gagging for it! New biomes, new critters, new characters, new recipes, new story! Urgh heaven! They did a really good job selling it in the stream 😂 I suppose that's how capitalism works 😂 I'd already completed absolutely everything else in the game, including all the achievements, all the hidden quests (e.g. Golden Potato), and both the Wall-E and Ursula quests that cost moonstone. So I was just decorating my valley ready for the multiplayer option to become available. Buying the DLC gave me something to do for the first time in months ❤ But I completely understand that some people are just not there yet, like they might have only just got it for Christmas. Everyone should be able to move through this game at their own pace, don't feel obliged to get the DLC, you do you. I never use any of the ancient machines. I thought I'd say least use the vacuum, but since it doesn't clean up bones, ice, etc. I have zero use for it anywhere.
I would at least be happy with more candy furniture and flora. The candy cane trees are.... okay. But we could use some more variety. Gumdrops, chocolate, marshmallows, things like that.
I love Vanellope’s house. I put her in my Forest of Valor with my fairy house, Rapunzel, and Fairy Godmother. Belle and Beast are also there but they take up the entirety of one side of the forest so it’s almost like it’s a different biome.
Love the ancient machines. They are more late game when you have already used all the most you need to unlock areas etc but then it's great to not have to do mundane chores
I had the same thing happen to me with my account, but was told by Gameloft, they don't have direct access to my cloud save, and could not retrieve it for me. After 7 days of fighting them on this issue, they cut me off saying the issue was resolved. Needless to say, I lost all the items I had bought in scrooges store, (the fountain tile, which is really sad), 40 000 mist, and 60 000 dreamlight. All the critters I had befriended were unfriended. It has been a nightmare. All this with my user ID. Gameloft can be useless most of the time. Like when the game glitched and my paid for moonstones disappeared. They refused to reimburse me. Not a fan of Gameloft I'm afraid.
I'm torn because I'm on Switch and that's obviously not the greatest platform. I was gonna buy it on steam so I could decorate from my computer, but then when I saw the dlc would need to be purchased twice as well, it turned me totally off (and the steam base price jumped up $10). It's absolutely insane, and I've been playing since day one, biggest founders pack, and the paywall of qol and making you buy multiple versions of the same game is robbery imo.
I got my Dreamlight back by going on another platform and selecting use local save rather than cloud save. I had to redo about a week’s worth of play, but definitely worth it compared to losing 3 months of Dreamlight.
I put Vanellope's house in with my Disney park area, along with the candy cake house. I can see though, if you missed out on the rides and don't have that other house skin how it would be an eye sore in the valley. A Wreck It Ralph biome would be AMAZING. I'm sure most of them will get their own biome eventually if the game stays around long enough. The new area is just meh for me. Having a hard time decorating, especially the desert. Not much to work with. I would have much preferred a candy area.
I have vanelope's house in the frozen area. Kinda a Hansel and gretel vibe but in the snow. It looked better there than in the forest of Valor. I do wish we had a whole biome of candy themed. I really want a different spot for all the beach houses. 5 houses that have to b on the beach stinks!
I was really surprised to hear that people think the expanison pack was expensive, im used to playing the sims 4 and they sell each expansion pack for 40 dollars when you dont even get that much compared to Disney's expanion packs
I have only had a few new items in scrooges shop and that's after I reset 😢 also I love the new things that do stuff for us, makes it so much easier! ❤
I personally love Vanellope's house.. but it doesn't fit anywhere!! There's no other villagers houses that looks good with it either so she has to be by herself lolo

I didn't buy the dlc because if you switch gaming devices you'll have to buy the dlc all over again. Whichever console you bought the dlc on it stays on that console
Maybe they didn’t have a choice to put the ancient machines behind a paywall. Maybe they decided to do that because Dreamlight already gets used for a lot of stuff, and well, mist is easier to get
Im Curious to Know... has anyone else been randomly seeing Jafar pop up on the map in all locations on Eternity Isle.. I've finished all DLC content, character, and quest lines that have been released so far, and am now seeing Jafar show up all over the map randomly.. but when glide to those locations he is nowhere to be seen (Remys, Lion Cave, Oasis, Lagoon, etc).. has anyone else noticed this in their game?

I haven't gotten the ext yet, and I got the bamboo, as as well as 2 desert palms, but that's the only thing I think. I used them on dazzle beach to block an area off to create a nook for moana, as well as a beachside resort - using remi's house as a small hotel. I put the candy house in the forgotten lands, and because of thr candy cane trees, kinda looks like a segue into xmas town, so when we got Jack, I knew I would combine them. I also decided to make a small Xmas town in the frozen area, over NY olafs magical cave, and Ana's castle creating a barrier.. can't wait to finish it all!
I didn't get the ext because of the price, but then I got fomo cuz I saw some of the new design elements, but the reviews from founders weren't great. Super glitch, deleted stuff, or didn't work at all, so I decided to wait. I am 2 weeks old in learning HOW MUCH you can actually do, and started deep diving DDV cyt creators, and now I got so much in the grind schedule - I am def gonna wait it out until the glitches are gone. But funny enough, I used my piston cup like a reward for veneope's car in the arcade I created by her house.. just need to grind hard to make my paths before I open my valley to visitors
the only thing i don't like about ancient machines is there is a cap of 4 of each per biome so you cant have a huge garden or 1huge cooking station in the same place
I get my cooker/gardeners ready and do it when I go to bed and everything's ready when I get up. Sooooo much better for pumpkins because I don't have to water it after 2 hours.
I haven't gotten it yet, i have had to reset my game multiple times now(glitches so bad i couldn't progress further with the quests).I will get the expansion eventually, I just hope they fix the glitches on the switch asap😢 I will say despite the glitches i love this game i just don't have the funds to purchase it again on another platform
I love Vanellope's house. I transformed part of the Forest of Valor into a Sugar Rush land. I would love a whole Sugar Rush land, give me King Candy and Taffyta Muttonfudge and ya know Ralph lol
I’m still waiting to hear back from Gameloft regarding my issue following the patch. I lost a months worth of progression, as my cloud save was overwritten with a cloud save from nearly a month ago. I’d played the game the night before and I’d manually saved the cloud, so I know that’s not the issue. It would probably be too late for them to fix this now. But I lost resources and items I’d worked hard to get. I’d like some form of compensation. (Just a side note I play DDLV on multiple consoles with the same account) Has anyone else had these issues ?
I’m with the Redditor. I hate the auto cooker. Why can’t we make bulk food the same way we bulk craft items? That being said I LOVE the Gardner.. no more digging!!!
I love my cooker. I haven't upgraded yet from the basic, but I can load it up and run around doing my tasks, looking for chests, etc. When I return to empty out my chest, I can take the cooked meals and start 10 more. I don't need the money right now as I have over 2 million, so I just use it to eat as I go through a lot more energy with the new update. I have not bought the new DLC I have been waiting to finish the track's going to quest and the star path. But now that I have finished it, I realize it will probably be better. To buy the DLC if it goes on sale. It is something I am interested in having!
I also feel like because it's all chargeable now, that the premium shop should be gotten rid of. if expansion packs are for purchase, the premium shop needs to go. Micro-transactions inside a purchasable game is WILD
I ALSO also feel/wonder if one day one of the expansion packs etc will be Marvel or Star Wars based? Not me imagining my level 10 friendship with Darth Vader..... 😁
Pc can set keyboard to auto cook Always. helps only console players. My only complaint ( ever ) is Xbox s has never worked well with CRiTTERs ( companion roam) . I buy every critter on release but console lags.
I honestly like that there is exclusivity to items and things. It also creates urgency and the "need" to get things. I know im probably in the minority with this thought.
People just love to complain, it’s literally like a hobby to them I swear. The amount of people who complain first then realise it was their own ignorance is astronomical as will be the person who complained about the basic cooker once they learn to make the advanced 🤦♀

Do we know if players that didn't purchase Rift in time, can use the food from that island? Example if I drop almonds for a player that didn't buy the dlc would they be able to craft the new recipe?

If it wasn't for the bonus items you get for buying the DLC I wouldn't of bought as fast as I did.

Love the ancient machines. They are more late game when you have already used all the most you need to unlock areas etc but then it's great to not have to do mundane chores
a candy biome would be perfect! i could think of many ideas and we need more candy items too to match!
I had the same thing happen to me with my account, but was told by Gameloft, they don't have direct access to my cloud save, and could not retrieve it for me. After 7 days of fighting them on this issue, they cut me off saying the issue was resolved. Needless to say, I lost all the items I had bought in scrooges store, (the fountain tile, which is really sad), 40 000 mist, and 60 000 dreamlight. All the critters I had befriended were unfriended. It has been a nightmare. All this with my user ID. Gameloft can be useless most of the time. Like when the game glitched and my paid for moonstones disappeared. They refused to reimburse me. Not a fan of Gameloft I'm afraid.
I'm torn because I'm on Switch and that's obviously not the greatest platform. I was gonna buy it on steam so I could decorate from my computer, but then when I saw the dlc would need to be purchased twice as well, it turned me totally off (and the steam base price jumped up $10). It's absolutely insane, and I've been playing since day one, biggest founders pack, and the paywall of qol and making you buy multiple versions of the same game is robbery imo.
That's the one thing that's irritating. The DLC should easily be carried over to other platforms. I don't see why there's a problem transferring it.
I got my Dreamlight back by going on another platform and selecting use local save rather than cloud save. I had to redo about a week’s worth of play, but definitely worth it compared to losing 3 months of Dreamlight.
Is there a deep freezer furniture piece that Scrooge sells? I want one to store my meat in my house.
I use a separate refrigerator for my meat storage.
I put Vanellope's house in with my Disney park area, along with the candy cake house. I can see though, if you missed out on the rides and don't have that other house skin how it would be an eye sore in the valley. A Wreck It Ralph biome would be AMAZING. I'm sure most of them will get their own biome eventually if the game stays around long enough. The new area is just meh for me. Having a hard time decorating, especially the desert. Not much to work with. I would have much preferred a candy area.

All my villagers are Timebenders. Each mist drop gives me almost 3k. They also duplicate every mist drop.
I have vanelope's house in the frozen area. Kinda a Hansel and gretel vibe but in the snow. It looked better there than in the forest of Valor. I do wish we had a whole biome of candy themed. I really want a different spot for all the beach houses. 5 houses that have to b on the beach stinks!
I was really surprised to hear that people think the expanison pack was expensive, im used to playing the sims 4 and they sell each expansion pack for 40 dollars when you dont even get that much compared to Disney's expanion packs

I wouldn’t mind Vanellope’s house as much if its color scheme would change to match whichever biome it’s in.
I personally love Vanellope's house.. but it doesn't fit anywhere!! There's no other villagers houses that looks good with it either so she has to be by herself lolo

I didn't buy the dlc because if you switch gaming devices you'll have to buy the dlc all over again. Whichever console you bought the dlc on it stays on that console

Maybe they didn’t have a choice to put the ancient machines behind a paywall. Maybe they decided to do that because Dreamlight already gets used for a lot of stuff, and well, mist is easier to get
Im Curious to Know... has anyone else been randomly seeing Jafar pop up on the map in all locations on Eternity Isle.. I've finished all DLC content, character, and quest lines that have been released so far, and am now seeing Jafar show up all over the map randomly.. but when glide to those locations he is nowhere to be seen (Remys, Lion Cave, Oasis, Lagoon, etc).. has anyone else noticed this in their game?

I haven't gotten the ext yet, and I got the bamboo, as as well as 2 desert palms, but that's the only thing I think. I used them on dazzle beach to block an area off to create a nook for moana, as well as a beachside resort - using remi's house as a small hotel.
I put the candy house in the forgotten lands, and because of thr candy cane trees, kinda looks like a segue into xmas town, so when we got Jack, I knew I would combine them. I also decided to make a small Xmas town in the frozen area, over NY olafs magical cave, and Ana's castle creating a barrier.. can't wait to finish it all!
I didn't get the ext because of the price, but then I got fomo cuz I saw some of the new design elements, but the reviews from founders weren't great. Super glitch, deleted stuff, or didn't work at all, so I decided to wait.
I am 2 weeks old in learning HOW MUCH you can actually do, and started deep diving DDV cyt creators, and now I got so much in the grind schedule - I am def gonna wait it out until the glitches are gone.
But funny enough, I used my piston cup like a reward for veneope's car in the arcade I created by her house.. just need to grind hard to make my paths before I open my valley to visitors
the only thing i don't like about ancient machines is there is a cap of 4 of each per biome so you cant have a huge garden or 1huge cooking station in the same place
Since I bought the expansion I no longer get any of the yellow or blue chests! Anyone else have this problem?
I get my cooker/gardeners ready and do it when I go to bed and everything's ready when I get up. Sooooo much better for pumpkins because I don't have to water it after 2 hours.
I haven't gotten it yet, i have had to reset my game multiple times now(glitches so bad i couldn't progress further with the quests).I will get the expansion eventually, I just hope they fix the glitches on the switch asap😢
I will say despite the glitches i love this game i just don't have the funds to purchase it again on another platform
I love Vanellope's house. I transformed part of the Forest of Valor into a Sugar Rush land. I would love a whole Sugar Rush land, give me King Candy and Taffyta Muttonfudge and ya know Ralph lol
I’m still waiting to hear back from Gameloft regarding my issue following the patch. I lost a months worth of progression, as my cloud save was overwritten with a cloud save from nearly a month ago. I’d played the game the night before and I’d manually saved the cloud, so I know that’s not the issue. It would probably be too late for them to fix this now. But I lost resources and items I’d worked hard to get. I’d like some form of compensation. (Just a side note I play DDLV on multiple consoles with the same account) Has anyone else had these issues ?

I love my cooker. I haven't upgraded yet from the basic, but I can load it up and run around doing my tasks, looking for chests, etc. When I return to empty out my chest, I can take the cooked meals and start 10 more. I don't need the money right now as I have over 2 million, so I just use it to eat as I go through a lot more energy with the new update. Anyway, it works for me, sorry it isn't working for some others. Thanks for the info about the ID number. Good information. You always bring us the best info, thanks Serroh.

I have not bought the new DLC I have been waiting to finish the track's going to quest and the star path. But now that I have finished it, I realize it will probably be better. To buy the DLC if it goes on sale. It is something I am interested in having!
I feel like the basic cooker cooks slower, I feel like the cookers cook faster when you upgrade.
I also feel like because it's all chargeable now, that the premium shop should be gotten rid of. if expansion packs are for purchase, the premium shop needs to go. Micro-transactions inside a purchasable game is WILD
I ALSO also feel/wonder if one day one of the expansion packs etc will be Marvel or Star Wars based? Not me imagining my level 10 friendship with Darth Vader..... 😁
Pc can set keyboard to auto cook Always. helps only console players. My only complaint ( ever ) is Xbox s has never worked well with CRiTTERs ( companion roam) . I buy every critter on release but console lags.
No DLC for us. Two reasons.
1. Cost
2. Useless for PS4

I love the ancient cooker. Another feature of it I like is being able to pick specific ingredients and make that in bulk.
I honestly like that there is exclusivity to items and things. It also creates urgency and the "need" to get things. I know im probably in the minority with this thought.
I use all of the ancient machines daily. They allow me free time to decorate and explore.
Sure the ancient cooker may be slow, but it’s all about getting to do other things while your meals are cooking. It’s called efficiency, people!
I hope they do NOT add a candy biome, Vaneloppe's hosue is already disgusting enough 💀 I don't need a whole biome of that.
People just love to complain, it’s literally like a hobby to them I swear. The amount of people who complain first then realise it was their own ignorance is astronomical as will be the person who complained about the basic cooker once they learn to make the advanced 🤦♀

Do we know if players that didn't purchase Rift in time, can use the food from that island? Example if I drop almonds for a player that didn't buy the dlc would they be able to craft the new recipe?
