- In this video, Andrew shows you how to throw a cast net, step by step.
This is an essential skill to master, if you intend on fishing with bait. Whether you're planning on catching pinfish, greenbacks, grunts, threadfins, shiners, or whatever else, you need to be able to throw a net properly.
We recommend a 10' net for most people, with the exception of younger kids or older people. In those cases a 6' or 8' net will probably be better. But, many people get comfortable with an 8', then upgrade to a 10' shortly after. So that's why we recommend going straight for the 10'.
Perfection is not something that's completely necessary, especially with a 10' net. A mostly open 10' net will still catch plenty of bait for a full day of fishing and chumming.
Black Pearl nets are our nets of choice in the shop.

Just got cast net 2 days ago , timing is perfect
😎
Don't waste your time with this technique. You can never get the leverage you need to throw really far using this throwing-it-like-a-frisbee method. PLUS, if you get hung up with the net in your teeth, you're going to end up pulling out one of your corn chompers. Alot of net-throwers talk about right hand- left hand techniques, but that's all relative to whether you're tossing from left-TO-right or vice versa, but either way, "frisbee-ing" it sucks.
Go see "Reel Reports" (Miami area CZcamsr). HIs technique is easier, safer, and more reliable. No teeth.
Good!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
