Lord Relator has to be the most underrated calypsonian still living. The man is just a tremendous resource that hasn't been appreciated much in my view
I'm a huge Kitchener fan this is so wonderful the selection the tone the collaboration is excellent Andy Narell, r Relator great great work love it love it love it.
What a joyous sound! The rhythm, the melodies, the exuberance of the pan players, dynamics of the big band, with every heart beating as one. It's like Heaven on earth.
smoothe,classy,unique.......trinbago culture blending with......Relator complements this with his special talent for ....storytelling,musically.Yes,this is a masterpiece that you never tire of listening to.Well done!
Thanks for posting this delightful tribute to Kitchener. With the full orchestra, along with the great Andy Narell and fine voice of calypso maestro Lord Relator, this shows just how fabulous Kitchener`s music can be. Great job by all.
I think have heard this more than anyone. Born in Venezuela in a small town close to Trinidad. Heard this is a refined sound of my early years. My relaxed memory on wonderful music I grown with though radio
A very pleasant collaboration... Big band flavor and an overseas pan.... Yes we love our local renditions the most but these fusions are the highest compliment. Love it!!!
You know we in Trinidad and Tobago as a nation sometimes don't show and give our Calypso Entertainers and Pannist total appreciation of there talents when you log on to CZcams and other foreign sites is then you really see and hear there true skill and talents and realise how much our sweet pan and calypso music is cherished abroad I would love to see more video/Performances like this done locally also
This collaboration compares to Harry Belafonte's "Calypso" album of the early '50. It has all the earmarks of a great cultural milestone for Caribbean music. A superb representation of Island stories, rhythms, and melodies. Hats off to Kitch, Lord Relator, Andy Narell, musicians, studio, and IsDePaninMe for posting.
This is just beautiful happy music! I play it every morning. Probably look crazy walking the dog every morning dancing! I love love love it. Thank you for this gift.
What a "Fusion" between " STEEL & BRASS "!!!! Steel is my thing grew up on it.....VERY WELL done Andy and Relator !!!!! Wish I could hear more like this....Tony*********
🙏 Full credit to Lord Relator Truly a Inventor of Music, As a Little Boi in Village, The Raymond Family in d Sixties use to Play Indian music on Steel Pan. Mr. Cyrill Raymond was an Inventor also. He invented the Modern day Tassa In Canada. I Think our Nation UWI Owes Mr. Willard Harris a Doctorate. Truly a Gem for our Music and People
Just had to comment....what an uplifting score of music. Narell and the steel pans just keep everything smokin' in the background. Inor, once again, is dead on with conga's and the drummer is spot on. A few of the ladies on the steels are really "grooving" and jumpin' out of the skins with this great medley.....BRAVO from a musician.
Fantastic fusion. Brass and steel with extemporal delivery of what remains the th sweet legacy of the grandmaster. Truly uplifting. Kitch would be proud if he were to hear this.
Pan was and is the love of life, thanks to for your efforts keep fighting for its place on the world stage your work will be rewareed one day. Thanks. Ceaser
One of the beat in the business and really understand the art form Lord Relator. As always class + class equal excellence thanks guys #bostoncarnivalvillage
Yeah i am here again January 21st 2021 from Suriname the Caribbean South America with Love from a Steelpan Steeldrum Tuner age 65 still making the Steelpan with the Sledge Hammer ,,Manual Labour ,,my compliments again to Andy Narell,,straight up Music has No Colour ,No Race < religion, Border, ,,keep on going on Andy ,Who is listening January 2021
always brings tears to my eyes. Starved for great melodies in today's musical wasteland. What a treat! when is the next offering? I could listen to this forever!
Always listen after nine pm in the evening at lease three times a week . No new arrangements were added but sound sweeter every time i hear these melodies .
Sweet sweet sweet, Kitchener use to eat in my Dad's ice cream parlour when on tour, and I am in the process of adding Dr Kitchener Dr Kitch is in my repertoire,( but not many English people understand the lyrics, one even thought I was talking about drugs,) to my repertoire as another tribute to this awesome contributor to our culture. may his music continue to be played . I sure will. Great backing band, which just shows how sweet this music is, and will always be. Right on. Relator is also great with the arrangement . These old tunes bring back so many sweet childhood memories. My Brother , Your sister, another great song to be included on my next CD......
First, I must agree with most of if not all the comments below. This is just a marvellous exhibition of the capacity of this instrument we call pan. Andy, has been able to delicately extract and voice certain chords out in pan, that I don't recall hearing much of before, and with that fat WDR big-band brass orchestration and arrangements that certainly embellish the voice of pan as we know it. His collaboration with Relator is also remarkable, fitting and in fact superb. The solos particularly by the Alto Saxaphonist, the flugelhorn and then the trumpet were well delivered, a first for me. I look forward to seeing this live.
Great rendition of the music of the grand Master. Trinidadians should take a look at the potential of the steel pan and Calypso. Steel pan has more potential than only Panorama.
The lyrics are so clever, along with that island breeze through the palm tree fraunds sounds,, and you can hear the turquoise blue waves lapping at the shore of the beach! Did I mention the Pina Colada or Planters punch in your hand!!
So pumped! On April 19th, University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS, the Southern Mississippi Steel Pan Orchestra (SoMiSPO), directed by John Wooton, along with the Jazz Lab I Band, directed by Larry Panella, will be putting on a concert featuring Andy Narell, Lord Relator, and Mark Walker! We've worked long and hard to get this ready so come out and see us! You don't wanna miss this!
Eyes totally filled up. Wow! Such understanding of the use of touch-feel. Transition at 9:30. Expression galore! Who are the engineers on this mix and stage setting. Kudos to them. All I need now is to lie down in a hammock smack in the middle of this stage. lol.
Could never understand how someone can dislike this performance..
Love it, Love it.I am so proud to be a Trini.
To see how a small Caribbean island can have such an impact on the world. Great...
Well deserved. Latest instrument created by human on earth in history, and what a celestial sound !
Very well executed rendition !
Still enjoying this beautiful video here in December, 2020!!
Thank you Trinidad for gifting us with beautiful calypso, steel band and soca music. Really loved the first song.

My friend just emailed this to me...Absolutely awesome.

As I listened to this awesome piece of music and performance, I couldn't help but ask, who were the 51 people that gave this a Thumbs down...
Absolutely lovely!
Flawless presentation...
Great rendition of the music of the grand Master. Trinidadians should take a look at the potential of the steel pan and Calypso. Steel pan has more potential than only Panorama.

Relator excellent work
Pan has NO COLOUR! What are you talkin' about? Pan has reached so many new shores globally. Be happy and grateful! :)
Great music but no Colour? Another art form stolen or misappropriated. Sad that we're so hard on our own pan players.
Fantastic music! So happy to see and know that pan is considered to be such a terrific creation in this century! :)
The lyrics are so clever, along with that island breeze through the palm tree fraunds sounds,, and you can hear the turquoise blue waves lapping at the shore of the beach! Did I mention the Pina Colada or Planters punch in your hand!!
Exquisite.
