Fuck I miss Mullingar. Stayed with some friends of my parents there 3 yrs ago on a holiday from Australia. Went all around Ireland, experienced the culture and nightlife and the people everywhere I went. Every person I met was just amazing. But the best of the lot was Mullingar. Just a quiet unassuming town in the midlands, tinkers and all, and it was by far the one place I loved the most. So much in fact that I wanted to be there this yeah for the Fleadh na Cheoill in Mullingar 2020. Thats right, I was more than happy to spend 23 hrs flying from Sydney to Ireland just to attend a festival that lasts two weeks. Damn Covid-19 fucked that up for me ay.
fucking miss Mullingar!! mind you, every Irishman and girl I met on Friday in Sydney (Aussie Day too) is busy telling me what a shit-hole Mullingar is. Apart from the stench of peat in the air 24/7, cant imagine what they were talking about it really was my go-to place for good craic and real Irish vibes. Didnt get that in Dublin. Apart from the sights, the nightlife was too touristy and a rip off.
Mullingar is best town in Ireland best golf lakes bars niteclubz etc-where else get a nightclub called BED huh??-best celebs also John Joe niall and Jodo oh and yah man the dirty book writer jp dunleery ..just needs an airport now...
Born there. Spent 17 torturous years there. Spent almost every minute planning my escape. Never looked back. Absolute, complete and utter sh!t hole filled with god awful people. Never mind any of the comments below romanticizing the place. I'd rather die than go back.
