  • Today we take a look at another contactless keyboard, from a developer I've never even heard of. Apparently it launches sometime in March. Hope you enjoy the video! :)

About 4 years ago I bought a Gamakay 65%, specifically for the pre-lubed switches and keycap profiles (doublt shot pbt ASA profile).
I have a LOT of keyboards and turned yet my Gamakay turned out to be one of the best keyboards I've owned. It was super cheap and really good quality, no gasket mount or embedded foam or anything fancy like that, just a really solid wired/wireless/bluetooth keyboard. I was quite impressed.
Finding out they do proper contactless switches now has piqued my interest a lot.

Could be that both keyboards came from the same factory but with slight differences for each brand and their product targets.

    An affordable HE keyboard? Intriguing....
Also, I think you've reviewed enough modern keyboards to check if they might be retooled or revised for different manufacturers. Let's hope you're either right or wrong to compare the Gamakay to the Keydous.
Though I'm going to be honest, I'm anticipating you to receive and review the Elipse Beamspring keyboard more soon, lol.😂

The manufacurer of these two keyboards may also produce Corsairs recently released K65 Plus Keyboard. Same Layout, same knob as far as I can tell. Cheers Mate!

At work I have two keyboards on my desk. One for the University issued locked down to the point it's hard to get anything done computer, and one for the behemoth Dell T7400 that I use for actual work. Since that makes deskspace a premium I've been using small keyboards for that maching, a hhkb and more recently a SIIG minitouch. Since I like big boards usually, it's interesting.
Great to see you Tom, I'll look forward to the review!

I don't get the 3 key nav cluster on this and the Keydous and I'll probably never understand it, but I do appreciate the small gaps the Gamakay board introduced between the various key groups (eg. the arrows) - that seems to be a lost art these days.

GamaKay seems to be the manufacturer and they white label keyboards for other brands. I've seen similar situations over the years. GK tends to be the cheaper version as well.

Akko, Keydous, Ciddoo-Finalkey, Zouya, Gamakay-Feker, Royal Kludge, Xinmeng, Monka, Baldbrothers, ect all made from some OEM factory and also almost all distributed by Epomaker so they have some models that are just straight rebrand or share the same components.
Among them, Keychron seems to be standing out the most because they went full QMK-Via compatible but left out the switches to be very basic (just rebranded Gateron pros) and terrible keycaps quality. I mean look how thin and poorly made their OSA keycaps are compared to others abs or pbt double shot.
