  • Dan'Agundi, Kano State, used to be known for its high rate of idle youths and drug users, leading to cases of banditry, thuggery, rape, and more. But with the intervention of the USAID funded Community Initiatives to Promote Peace (CIPP) program, a committee was formed consisting of the Community Peace Observers (CPOs), Quick Impact Project (QIPs), Community Action Committee (CAC), and other community members who attended various CIPP trainings.
The committee went on an advocacy visit to meet with the MD of Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) who agreed to employ 75% of the youths presented. This employment opportunity gave them the chance to better their lives and improve their skills.
This video shows the power of community-driven initiatives in effecting positive change.
