Unfortunately, There are so many people with the radar that I don't even think it's possible to find the dragon ball in time before someone else if you don't have the radar yourself. The devs are basically silently making the dragon radar pass a requirement to get above 45 zenkais.
What? No there's just so many people with so many zenkais being greedy and wanting more all because of beast or ultra ego and dus it being very clearly hard.

When the dragon ball spawns, look for a bunch of people flying in a certain direction and they'll lead you to it
