You can also add water to your paint mixes - do about 50% paint, 30% floetral and then add water so it's a thinner consistency , and more black so the colors can blow over it - love these projects that you do together :) Resin over the top when they are completely dry (and after cleaning off the silicone) will bring all the colors back beautifully. You are definitely artists.

First and foremost I think it looks like you were having a blast. You both seem to work very well together.
The one with the blues and whites I can see skulls with like green and yellow ghostly flames. The others when you hold them up there's so many different things I could see in them throughout, they really come out awesome that was an excellent job you did. Keep coming up with a good ideas. 👍👍👍

Enjoyed the learning and discovery aspect. Please keep the videos coming.
Much love and respect to you both.

You can get canvas that has been pre-coated in gesso (the sort of primer you want for canvas) for painting or whatever else you intend to do to it and I'm pretty sure that's what you have because it didn't soak through. Gesso basically gives you a surface on top of the fabric so your liquid material doesn't soak down into the fibers out of sight. Acrylic paint is a form of polymer just like resin is, and it does need the canvas to be primered first.

To be honest, you are artists as I see it. You make wonderful things to look at and enjoy. Those eggs and illusion spheres and other items that you make ARE art. Those acrylic pictures are wonderful! I might try something like that with fluorescent and glow in the dark paints.

Great work on the pictures you two. There is a woman on youtube that does these flow paintings, but her specialty is flowers. The way she does it is the layers circles on top of each other in a round pattern using as much as 6 colours in each layered circle. Once done, the wets a napkin with water, and gently places it on top of the art. She then lifts the corners of the napkin to meet in her hand in the middle and when all corners are gathered she lifts the napkin off the canvas. This technique pulls the petals of the flowers inwards to the center. She then lifts the canvas up and moves it around allowing the paint to flow so it gets into the corners. The paintings turn out really nice but she does use a LOT of paint. When she is happy with the positioning of the paint she runs a blow torch over the surface quickly… and when the paint drys overnight, the flow continues until dried… so the result is a surprise.

Another techinque that a friend of mine does… is layering a lot of paint into a big red cup….as much as 10 or more colours. He just keeps layering until the cup is 3/4 full. He then inverts the cup quickly to place ontop of the canvas, moves it around a bit before lifting the cup off the canvas entirely. With all the paint on the canvas he rotates the canvas round to get paint in all corners.. then goes at it with a blowtorches heatgun or dryer..

I've had my nephews try paint pouring and mixing colors to the right consistency for them is a challenge. There are so many things to consider - from different pigments being "thicker" than others to just dealing with old paint. You just never know what the final result will be. Anyhow, the kids enjoyed it. Also, they'll use a straw to blow the paint around or just drag their fingers through to get their own individual style. A bit messier than your technique! 😂

They all turned out great in the end and looks like your technique got better. Hope you do more of these paintings. I wonder if color shift or sparkle powder mixed in white or light colored paint would work.
I wonder if the color dulled because you put them in the sun to dry or if it was just the nature of the paint while drying. 🤔
That last one was definitely awesome looking, but I think my favorite was the middle ones that really looked like fire flames. Please keep practicing and please share more of your work. ❤️ from 🇺🇸

    @michellesuniqueboutique3405 Před 7 měsíci

They all came out amazing. Ive seen people do a base coat then to do colors they would pour all there colors in one cup( no mixing just layers of colors) then some would use a cup( which they also made strainer kind of things)n place it in a spot in canvas then pour cup of paint slowly over the cup til u either run out of paint or you think it has enough. Then remove cup. So then u can pick up canvas n move did to side to move colors around. N some will use a heat source to move around a bit. Then leave it to dry overnight.
Another way my sister used to do them is put a color for base ,pick out 3 or 4 corresponding colors, take one color at a time( regular acrylic paint)squeeze onto canvas then repeat with other colors. Then you want to take a thin plastic that covers your entire canvas. Lay it gently over it. Press gently all over the plastic with your hands . after that lift it up from one side with both hands. Then Let it dry

I also heard some use resins for last after they're dry. I did mine. Only I drew house, with mountain, and so forth. I even added glow in the dark paint. After I was finished, I pour resins on top. Now it's fell behind my deep freezer and I won't be able to reach.

I think it really came together with the off-camera ones, and the first two of those definitely captured 'dragon fire' the most for me. But they were all cool.

Different colored dragons have different breath weapons, according to the guide books for Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. It might be interesting to use different colors for different weapons-for example, shades of blue for ice or green for acid.
By the way, Nicole’s second wet canvas looks like a victim’s eye view of the dragon’s breath weapon! I was disappointed about the loss of color as they dried, too.

It's still the same in 5e, and also applies to the dragonborn colors as well.

Having a blow dryer with a low setting should work really well for better control when blowing the paints around. You can also use a straw or just your mouth for different effects. I’ve never done acrylic paint pouring but I’ve watched a ton of videos on it. You can just mix your paints with water, or floetrol, there’s also an Australian floetrol and an American floetrol that act differently. You can dab silicone on with a toothpick after you add your paint for a completely different controlled cell effect called “chameleon cells.” SO many options! I suggest watching J Mo Painting or Molly’s Artistry for some different ideas/lessons. But overall I think your first few attempts were awesome!!

I never knew how much different the seasons where from Australia to the USA. It’s fall time in Michigan with small amounts of snow once n a while versus summer in Australia

wow each attempt was amazing, considering it was a first try. i really love the red "looking flame" one, but i agree about the last one, to me, it looks like a dragon head with green flames! i wonder if using resin will help or to add some more shiny new traits to the paint.

Although I haven't finished watching the whole video yet, think I prefer a no black background. Perhaps just LITTLE in with the colours. Great to watch though on a dismally dreary, wet Saturday afternoon in the UK 👍

I like the fire like ones. Remined me of the like i tried to sculpt a flame out of polymer clay.
