Something small I noticed is that different space stations add little decals with different colours on your ship that you cant change. Very interesting video btw and thanks for the info!
Changing the cores also changes some decals too!
Let us all remember, that This is just Stage 1. They put it out to get a vibe from all of us. See what I’d liked, what should change, and what is hated.
They keep giving us Gold, and the only thing they ever ask for in return….

Right? I was like ... FINALLY ... but nope. Still a great update though!
They did say "more to come" in the trailer - black and dark grey paint, perhaps decals and the other ship types and even pirate stations and abandoned ones might get another update in the near future :)
I think it's just a patch or so away. The trailer shows Shuttles being made (Shuttles aren't even an option right now) and there are black and dark grey options, along with a 3rd row of color selections... I've noticed there are several multiplayer videos out right now that (which seems to have improved stability finally!) show people are not seeing colors properly of each-others newly created ships. Like, you create a red/white ship, but your buddy sees it as a blue/yellow ship. Reloading makes no difference. So I'd say it's no biggie, just a little patience. Play with the new toys while we wait :)

I love that different space stations apply differences to ships. Gives a different dynamic to ship hunting while also removing the reload repetition of s class max stat ship hunting previously
Its a combination of the parts and the space station that decides the base stats and charger layout. So whats good for one set of parts may be great at a station, but a different set of parts may be horrible.
Like the staffs but slightly more complicated. I'm still messing around but it so far it feels like it hasn't taken away from ship hunting but given something more to do.

If I have a configuration that I really like but the stats are underwhelming, it’s nice to know that I can always try reassembling it at another station to roll for better stats!
Thanks for the video. This pretty much confirms what I thought was the case from my initial view of all this. This hasn't killed ship hunting at all, and the whole 'customized ship = lazy or fake ship people vs. real natural ship people' is a whole bunch of garbage. NMS put a lot of thought and effort into keeping a feeling of effort and investment into both. And, customized ships are an additional, decent Units sink, buying all those ships to make the one we want. We need more of that in game. Uber-expensive items we need a lot of, often. :)
Thanks for testing all this out. Saving me a lot of time as this is the kind of stuff I usually do. A lot of trial and error to find the best possible outcome. Your work is appreciated.
I wish we could scrap sentinels and exotics, or straight up just use different ship type parts to make something entirely new. Imagine a hotrod fuselage with solar wings and sentinel thrusters.
They really made things a lot more interesting with this!
The SC slots change with changing ship parts.

That's how it looks, makes sense probably simpler code.
Keep in mind that the parts you get keep the decals on them so don’t grab the first of the part you want, hunt around for a version of that part with decals that you like on it. It’ll make your custom ship a little more special.
tbh I'm still waiting untill you can merge the peaces of different types of ships becaus when it comes to it, all one can do right now is create an already existing type of ship and giving it a personal color.
This is what I was looking for before I reinstall. Still going to, just wanted see the update. Can’t wait to see what they do in the future
I wonder if the best stats for a fighter will be at Vy'keen stations, and so on? I'm a bit sad I won't get to build a ridiculous shuttle, but Galaxy's Pointiest Fighter, here I come!

But if you find the "perfect" station for a particular layout of parts, will it still be the best station for a different build? Since if you change the parts you use, that also changes the ships' stats.

Just a heads up the stats change with what parts you use aswell (wings engine and thruster) you can see the correct stats when you press assemble

If you summon a ship on a space station or on the anomaly, it automatically changes your active ship, so there's no need to hop in and out.
The getting in and out of the ship was more for the save point while testing the specs and the weird thing that happens when you buy several ships. :-)
Same space station, switching to a different part, wings for example, changes stats as well
I haven't tested this myself, but I've been told using a C level reactor and upgrading it S has better base stats than using a S straight away... is that correct? Of course the supercharge will be a different config however
It can be but like all things in this game it might have different results at different locations.
Hold on a minute! I cannot salvage bought ships for parts. I thought that limitation was intentionally there to promote ship hunting. Not that I like it. It will take ages to find my favourite parts while roaming. But back to the point - how are you able to dismantle bought ships for parts?
You can at the scrapper?! Then extract a single piece. The issue was if you buy a couple of ships they don't appear in your quick menu but remain on the space station. So be carful when scrapping. :-)
I just can't wait til this update hits the Xbox, I cannot wait to build my own ships, ill probably be too busy doing that to worry about the rest of the game 🤣

so, as a professional what economy would you recommend as the best for super charged slots, i’m building a fighter and explorer just for the purpose of flying long distances so the more supercharged for the hyperdrive the better 😊
The supercharge slots are seeded to space stations, unfortunately it's a case of testing and moving to the next station

@@ojgunner31 You'll will have to visit a few space stations to get them all, but there are between 3 and 5 odd variations per system.

I noticed that some wings have (FIN) in their name, Would you happen to know what that means??
No idea, do they have fin’s or it could be a file name that shouldn’t be visible!?
@@ScottishRod it seems there are regular Wings like "Vector" and then another set "Vector (FINS)" it looks like, For the fighter Class each wing if has a (FIN) version as well
It means there is a vertical stabilizer (wing) above the ship's fuselage.

The update has not been authorised by Microsoft yet. This happens on all platforms from time to time.

Can you do this to Sentinel Ships?
No just the three of the four original ships, fighter, hauler and explorer.
My inventory are already full of part and no there’s no way to classified them (arranged them) by categories. Like what sup with that. Arggg. 😅
Look, I know NMS is great now, etc etc. I've played it myself on the Switch and I enjoyed it very much, so much so that now I'm looking around videos about it because I'm thinking of getting the game again for PS5. Games that have the ability to last for months, even years, are perfect for me.
But all this saving and loading and finding ways to get around a simple issue, it's just indicative of a system with a fragile foundation. Because the game has been piling on solutions after solutions that things are bound to be incompatible with each other. Hello Games is basically playing Jenga with NMS lol
How come S class reactor is 3k for you? Mine is 11K. Is it because of Race relation ranking?

I had to delete one ship, just to costomise one ship, because I already had 12 ships 😅
I wouldn't call it "best" customisation. It's basically just taste. Me and my girlfriend hate that long nose for fighters. She hates my favourite nose fir fighters. Everybody has a different taste, my dude. The only thing you can control, are the super charges, which can be done with hard save reload. The stats can't really be seen, as tech in super charges influences the stats seen. If there are hidden tiers, I must have been thousands of hours unlucky 😂 base stats were always the same for me 😅
Is it just me or dose anyone else notice no "Travelers" in space stations anymore?

Lots of bad info here, and the info that is here is mostly useless... Theres no need to remove all your parts manually... Theres no need to create & reload restore points, the ships layout changes by the space station you are on and the parts you are using.
And unlike some other videos that actually show you a location and the pieces required to get a ship with 4 supercharged slots touching, this one had none...
The title clearly says 'how to' and if you check the date stamp you might realise that it was showing everyone how to at the time as no one knew how it worked then.
Reloading was not related to ship build and is advised due to game glitching from time to time.
And four touching supercharge slots are not always the best.
