What a difference. Both were a game changer! My husband & I both watched, paused, cut some hair, gave her a break and repeated the process several times. It was a much better grooming session than the previous two! Your video was wonderful. You are concise, explain everything step-by-step and demonstrate what you are explaining. We aren't fast, and she is wiggly, but we have certainly improved our style and her demeanor! Thank you!

I don’t think I realized the need to continually recomb, reshape and reshave as you go -that was so helpful to see. I’m more confident I will be able to start grooming my 2 Shih Tzu’s at home using your instructions and am saving this and will refer back to it as I go and as the previous commenter suggested.

Our new furbaby is a 3 month old Malshi that we got a month ago. Our vet says she is not to go to a groomer until fully vaccinated. She needs grooming horribly so I have spent a few hours watching videos from several different groomers since I will need to attempt it myself with hubby's help. Your videos are the most helpful I have seen. You are careful to explain everything in such detail that I am somewhat comfortable in attempting to groom her. Thank you so much!
This groomer is amazing!!! I use to have a Shih Tzu and I groomed her myself. I now have a Maltese and take her to be groomed, however, I do trim her paws, face and eyes as needed in between cuts. Thank you for providing this video... it is good to see that I do a lot of the same techniques.

Yes I agree is the best grooming video. What I liked how you explained everything also you have feelings for Sandy... most videos I've seen have completely ignored the dog and they've painted all the way through. I've had to turn it off as it's been too stressful to watch...where Sandy is very relaxed and not stressed. Thanks so much for sharing. I also have a Shih Tzu I definitely will keep this video.

You make it look so easy. I did one of my four pooches, for the first time, and he looks terrible. I hope practice makes perfect, like you say. I think I was just scared to cut/hurt them. Thank you. I will keep trying.
That was a great help and a beautiful cut....I’ve bought a dog grooming set as my shitzu needs trimming now but I’m worried about doing her face...plus do you clipper the legs or scissors them....and guessing you clipper with the natural hair growth any advice would be appreciated.... I cut human hair for a living but never a dog thanks x

My imperial shih tzu is full coat. Puppy doll face as it is very very tiny. What do I use under the chin .. thinning scissors? Kenchi scorpion .

Most groomers like to bathe the dog before the cut. While there is no set rule, brushing before the cut is a must.

My shihtzu wouldn't allow any groomer to trim the face with a clipper. Scissors only.
