Here’s little about me!
My name is Meghan Arriola and I live in Texas with my husband Jaime, where I dedicate my time to taking care of exotic and domesticated animals on my farm. We run a rescue and sanctuary for animals like alpacas, birds and reptiles. I do animal education presentations for groups and schools. Our alpacas also do events where we are able to teach people about these unique animals. I have used service dogs for medical needs for over 10 years and I am an advocate for assistance animals and mental health awareness.
I am an animal educator that brings science related ideas to an audience from around the world by presenting fun and interesting topics in a family friendly way. Animals touch our lives in unique ways everyday as simply being our pets and companions, but how can we make their lives equally as special now that they live in captivity? My CZcams channel and blog explore ways to meet this goal by tackling things like animal behavior, human-animal relationships and veterinary medicine. Animal science is a great way to teach people of all ages that education is fun and nerdy is cool.
My previous animal related work experience includes working in veterinary clinics, private zoos, training horses and volunteer work in wildlife rehabilitation, rescue/foster/adoption programs and therapeutic horsemanship for children with disabilities.
When I am not working with animals, I am working at the health care clinic owned by my husband Jaime and I, where we provide services to low income, minority neighborhoods. We have been on the frontlines fighting covid19. I also have a passion for art and I am an award winning painter and photographer and published author. I am naturally very introverted but I am extroverted about sharing my passions and doing my part to make the world a better place!

I have been researching for quite some time and you were the first CZcams channel I came across and I have been hooked ever since. When my husband retires I want to have a hobby farm and I am extremely interested in Alpaca, and I really want to do extensive research beforehand so I know what I’m getting myself into and can provide a wonderful environment for Alpaca. Anyway thanks so much for all of your videos I thoroughly enjoy them all 😀

Fifty five years ago when I was a young teen in a boys prep school alpaca sweaters were a must. (you think girls are fussy about their cloths, take a look inside a boys school) These sweaters had buttons halfway up the front and came in a variety of colors. Every boy had at least one drawer full of such sweaters.

One time I drove by an Alpaca and Llama farm and I saw hundreds of them running and running in waves. It was so beautiful but I wondered if that was normal or if something weird was going on.

i can so relate on how long you have to wait for an alpaca to give birth. My alpaca, Cinnamon, was pregnant for 15 months. I was waiting at 11 months for her to have it but then a couple months past till she actually gave birth.
My record right now is 420 days. It's the worst!😫

I am getting alpacas soon. Do you have to lock them up every night? I have chickens and duck and we have to do so every night so coyotes don't eat them.
No locking up just make sure the fence is locked

Hey i speak spanish as first lenguge
So I have a question(when you showed your 3 llamas it reminded me) I've heard that in spanish sometimes they say "ll" as the "y" sound you hear in "your", so would they say it "yama"? But isn't "llama" already a word in Spanish? What do they call llama animals then? Thanks! :) btw your alpacas are so cute! So are the llamas XD

Defined by the ADA on .gov a service animal is a dog or miniature horse that is trained to perform task work for a person, to help mitigate a disability. So I think the obvious answer is no

"Crias" means offspring so it is entirely correct
It is in no way specific to alpacas or llamas.
Happy Tails it’s not specific to any species. It’s a general term for any offspring and it’s very commonly used when referring to livestock.
