Korone Chooses a New Design for Her Viewer Mascot, Listener-san [Hololive]

Back in May, Korone asked her viewers to submit designs for a Koronesuki mascot, just for hypothetical fun. 7 months later, she finally looks through some of the submissions on stream.
This was just a small selection of the ones she showed off. Check out the stream as well!

I love that Korone doesn't want her listener stand-in mascot to be too cute, because that would make us harder to abuse. That's just so Korone.

I love that Korone had kept these super long arms that appear at 8:09 in her back pocket. I imagine she was probably laughing her ass off whilst coming up with this gag.

She won't change it because it is part of the canon. But the baker dogs and the screen ones looked great.
Could always expand them into side chara mascots like Hosoinu and the like.
The baker dogs were super cute but they aren't really mascot-like. If you look as everyone's mascots they tend to be round and/or simplistic in silhouette.
Not to mention the current design is in the Korone DLC for Sonic Frontiers in Japan

@@ShadiC636 In Sonic Frontiers, Kocos are replaced with Koronesukis. Unfortunately it’s a JP exclusive thing, BUT if you have the PC version you can install it as a mod!

If the 2:57 design (KoroKoronesuki) isn’t by Hololive fan animator Otoufu-san it sure does a great job in tribute to their style

May 3rd: Korone announces she's accepting submissions.
May 7th: submission deadline
December 30th: Korone shows the results.

There were so many amazing designs in the stream. Really impressive what the Koronesukis can do.
as a designer the lo-fi aesthetics of the koronesuki actually makes it easier for the viewers to accept the quick skits she does compared to the detailed drawings lol
usually the more lofi and simple in design, the more room for viewers to add on their imaginations or change characteristics of the character. also listener san is peak internet shitposting aesthetics lol
Everytime I watch Korone play with her drawings and do little skits like this, I feel like she was MADE for this job
Nothing can beat the Koronesuki that happily accepts anything Korone throws at them with an unwavering open mouth smile.
Classic koronesuki design is an absolute chad, even with all the beating and being called kimoi still has that joyful smile. But tbh the designs are great tho.
A lot of these are great, but I could never imagine us being anything other than the bald floating head 😂
The original Listener-san looks like the IOSYS logo and I love it for that.
Koronesuki may not be cute but he is iconic and most important made by Kone.
Also, very easy to punch.

I absolutely love Korone's hand drawn skits. NGL though some of those designs would be pretty cool updates to Listener-san

I really like the Otoufu-san design, super cute as always. The angry yubi was funny as hell though. one she didn't show by 3goutotugekihou is really amazing.
I was looking forward to your translation so I could be sure the Koronesuki design was staying the same. It's just too good and in some ways sums up Korosan's mystique. Glad it was just to inspire a fun "what if" stream.
Many of these are a perfect blend of adorable and disturbing. Just like Korone.

It was nice to take a look at other universe's Koronesukis
Although you can't beat perfection, some of these were really good. Really like the Jason, parasite, and the Finger-that-became-a-dog ones. My favorite though is the Mimikyu that morphs it's costume depending on the stream it's watching. It wouldn't work so great as an individual mascot, but as a general representation of Holofans, it's almost perfect.
I love Otoufusan’s design. It reminds me of an Alien facehugger, but we get to wear the Korone-croissant as a brain eating hat instead of having it inject eggs into our ribcages
I really like the yokai croissant one. That just feels very Korone to me. Bread-dog is cute but Sana already did that. The fursona one is also cute and I like the design, but Korone’s 100% right that the cuteness would make it less funny when she directed violence toward it.
the OG koronesuki feels too unique, but maybe she can use the new designs once in a while

I think baker dogs, the youkai coronet, and yubi puppy were easily my faves.
But it is what it is, and it's not likely to change, and that's cool, too.

probably 'bad to change' because lots of merch has the koronesuki in it, but I don't think it's a big fuss. They can just have new merch with new design in it, and with old kornonesuki in the background as a meta joke.

Ah, so that was the context to the long armed koronesuki. First time I saw it I thought 'Why the hell did we become become member of the nekoluga family?!' Really liked all the designs, especially that last one that was chosen. It was amazing, couldn't imagine anything else better.
