It really feels like Chase Elliott has no business being ahead of Larson in the standings at the moment. But I think that goes to show you how many missed opportunities Larson has had. From not racing the 600 to getting wrecked at Iowa (where he won a stage) to other bad finishes like at Darlington (where he also won a stage), it feels like Larson could be ahead of everyone by over 100 points and also have 2-3 more wins, but that’s not the case
Chase is ability to maximize a day is an underrated talent he has. He never tries to take a 12-15th place car and drive to a 3rd or 4th place finish and put him in bad situations,
I agree, Larson feels like he has been in a class of his own this year but he has either had bad luck or put himself in bad positions that have caused him to be 2nd in points despite being the obvious best driver this year. The whole Kenseth 2003 season comparison for Elliott seems very accurate and I can just imagine if Elliott somehow wins the championship by being consistent basically undermining the whole playoff system 😂
This happens to a lot of great sports stars running through weeks of no progress Then it all breaks and the positive attitude helps them become that great star again Hang in there
I don’t understand why everybody in the news keeps talking about this. I know some people that work for him and from what they tell me, he plans on going nowhere anytime soon just because look on his face or just because he says that there may be potential doesn’t mean anything. He is happy right where he is so they say.
I think Busch to JGR only makes sense if Gibbs doesn't believe C. Smith or others will be ready for a Cup ride. Maybe Busch comes in for two seasons to bridge the gap.
I think the best destination for Kyle Busch would be RWR or FRM. He needs a team that's on the rise and in need of a veteran to help strengthen the organization.
Kyle is intentionally talking through the media to get those teams to come to him.. which they both should. Getting away from out of touch Richard would be a great move.
maybe rcr can use the buyout money from busch to help fund the third charter and bring on gragson and then also potentially move up hill to cup. a good financial move considering charters hold lasting value and i believe there is zero chance they keep busch after his contract expires. thats what a nfl or mlb gm would do in this situation.
Busch reminds me of Fernando Alonso. Both drivers went to new teams and did very well compared to how people thought they would. Now they aren’t doing it as good
I think HMS isn't close to an option for Kfb, each of their drivers are well in playoff slots. Maybe JGR? I know Gibbs didn't want to lose Kyle, but I dunno.
My silly season long shot prediction is that Busch will not return to RCR and will go to 23XI. Sponsorship will be sorted out later like they did with Reddick. His number could be the 18 again or 81. Do I think it’s going to happen? No. But like Kyle said…anything is possible.
I hope tyler makes final 4 this year in playoffs. I know it's early but most the year he has had top 5 to top 10 speed most the year. If he can keep it up for the second half of the year I like his odds.
Man I would absolutely love to see how dominant Hendrick would be with Kyle Busch on their team, that would be crazy. I miss seeing Kyle at the front competing for race wins..
7:51 I think this just shows that he hasnt necasssarily been bad the last couple weeks/months. A few wrecks where he was cleaned out by other guys (Darlington and Texas) and small mistakes by the crew costing him at Gateway and Charlotte. They've absolutely had the pace to be in the top 10 and top 5 but they seem to run into trouble in the final stage. Whether it be because of other guys or their own mistakes.
A scenario that could work out for Kyle, is that 2025 is an option year with RCR. Denny Hamlin would retire from full time racing at JGR in a few years and take the 11 to his own team at 23XI. The former 11 team at JGR will become the 18 team and Kyle could potentially return to JGR and Toyota if sponsorship can be secured. Another option is Kyle joining 23XI in the third charter team and reunite with Toyota. Kyle could finish his remaining years in Cup Series competition in a Toyota before retiring in order for new drivers like Corey Heim to be promoted to Cup. Legacy Motor Club could be an option, being a Toyota team, and Kyle would be a great contribution to helping that team improve, but they are still behind in terms of being competitive so it might not be a lucrative option for Kyle to join the team. In my opinion, Toyota really liked Kyle Busch and David Wilson from TRD said he would rather not have his Toyota teams race against a pissed off Kyle Busch when Kyle was at the end of his contract year with JGR. So Toyota would be more than happy to welcome Kyle back to the family if things work out.
I don't think Kyle Busch fits anywhere except RCR logically. He might as well make the best of his situation since everyone should be looking to the future. He is the past, a Hall of Fame past, but the past.
Why is blaney having the 2nd most stage points surprising. His past month of finishes wasn’t because they didn’t have speed. He’s had speed most of the year but has had parts failures or bad luck. Even got flat out dumped by Ryan preece.
Alright, where's that they were who we thought they were clip to illustrate Kyle and RCR? It fits perfectly. Plus it's just a fun clip in general if you know the backstory to it
I still think Kyle to 23XI makes the most sense. Regardless of his attitude he’s a veteran presence in a garage missing it. It reunites him with Toyota. It could be a good fix for 2-3 years while Denny wraps his current contract.
@@joshuapboston1999 Based on his performance this year, he may not be asking for that rate anymore if he wants to be in a top-level ride. If he went back to Gibbs, I think it would have to be because he accepts less.

@Mistermatt1984 nah fr but not so much the lower series but more the practice sessions. He ran good in iowa and sonoma... because he had practice. Even though he didnt get the result he deserved in both cases
Kyle Busch doesn’t need to be competitive anymore. He’s done his time and had has done a hell of a job. He needs to just sit there and have fun and maybe he can grab a few more wins before retirement
Are you for crying out loud every year they think RCR is going to come back and be a good team and that never happens I mean it's always the same story let's bring in Kyle Busch, Tyler Reddick, Jeff Green or Mike Skinner We keep bringing these people thinking this team's going to do anything and it's a complete joke
His last year at JGR was about the same. Engines blew, tires and toe links broke. It was along the same lines. His passion is gone. Not winning in trucks doesn’t help either.
People may be able to argue about everyone after them, but Larson and Denny at 1 & 2 are about as clearly entrenched in those spots as anyone can ever be. Assuming they don't drop off, if one of those two doesn't win the championship this year, it will be pretty disappointing.
Crazy that even though Blaney dominated the race, Eric only calls out the strategy and moves him up to 9 but if bell does the same thing, he’s calling bell a championship contender automatically
RCR may very well lose another star franchise driver. Busch probably regrets leaving JGR and could back out like Reddick did to go to 23XI. He could make sure that the timing of him leaving couldn't be any worse.
I doubt he’ll go back to JGR, he’s likely gunna stay at RCR unless he has a rebound year similar to Brad Keselowski, has you can remember Brad struggled real bad in 2022 but 2023 he rebounded, Kyle Busch could always rebound in 2025
I'm not a Busch fan, but him being competitive on the track makes the sport better...we've kind of made him the bad guy...so the bad guy needs to be competitive!
Bowman has race winning speed. His pit crew or NASCAR just happens to screw his over before he gets to display it. I mean he drove through the field 2 times yesterday. He has that team on his back.
The best way to assure that his streak of consecutive winning seasons doesn't come to an end is to work with his team. If Busch keeps talking about getting out of his RCR contract, the crew will stop working for him and just run the clock out.
Reddick: Screw the deal, I'm out of here one year early! Busch: Alright, time to jump into that ride and show him what he could have done! Eat my dust, Joe! * Two years later * Busch: I've made a huge mistake. [insert "CRY LOVE!"]

Lawyers and money can do some crazy things, and you can bet your ass Kyle and Denny are allowed to talk to their lawyers, who are allowed to talk to each other AND tell you to pound sand if you asked what they talked about.
As I said earlier, you're naive if you think otherwise.
Kyle Busch will move to a new team or retire after 2025. He will not continue to race for RCR if he’s not winning.
There was no asterisk for Blaney when he ran out of fuel at gateway on the last lap, but there’s one for truex at Sonoma shocker
Boo hoo get over it
This happens to a lot of great sports stars running through weeks of no progress Then it all breaks and the positive attitude helps them become that great star again Hang in there
I don’t understand why everybody in the news keeps talking about this. I know some people that work for him and from what they tell me, he plans on going nowhere anytime soon just because look on his face or just because he says that there may be potential doesn’t mean anything. He is happy right where he is so they say.
lol I feel like KB literally has 1 look on his face at all times
Even if Busch does want out, it looks like Briscoe is taking his ride
I think Busch to JGR only makes sense if Gibbs doesn't believe C. Smith or others will be ready for a Cup ride. Maybe Busch comes in for two seasons to bridge the gap.
I think the best destination for Kyle Busch would be RWR or FRM. He needs a team that's on the rise and in need of a veteran to help strengthen the organization.
Kyle is intentionally talking through the media to get those teams to come to him.. which they both should. Getting away from out of touch Richard would be a great move.
@@johnhaas2523 they can talk about years beyond 25.. much like they did with Reddick and then talk to Richard about buying out his contract.
maybe rcr can use the buyout money from busch to help fund the third charter and bring on gragson and then also potentially move up hill to cup. a good financial move considering charters hold lasting value and i believe there is zero chance they keep busch after his contract expires. thats what a nfl or mlb gm would do in this situation.
Fun fact, Chase Elliott has completed all but ONE lap this year. Crushing it with consistency.
RCR is struggling and their engineering is not up to standards.
Busch reminds me of Fernando Alonso. Both drivers went to new teams and did very well compared to how people thought they would. Now they aren’t doing it as good
Larson, the guy who overcomes the worst luck in Cup with brute raw talent and grit.
I think HMS isn't close to an option for Kfb, each of their drivers are well in playoff slots.
Maybe JGR? I know Gibbs didn't want to lose Kyle, but I dunno.
I don't know if Briscoe to JGR would be great either with how they feel about people racing in other cars throughout the week.
HMS should trade Bowman for Busch
"Next Gen parts broke...." love it!
Young money 💪
My silly season long shot prediction is that Busch will not return to RCR and will go to 23XI. Sponsorship will be sorted out later like they did with Reddick. His number could be the 18 again or 81. Do I think it’s going to happen? No. But like Kyle said…anything is possible.
They should put him in the 23
I hope tyler makes final 4 this year in playoffs. I know it's early but most the year he has had top 5 to top 10 speed most the year. If he can keep it up for the second half of the year I like his odds.
If Kyle gets a Hendrick ride then that team is winning every race of the season
If Busch goes back to JGR, I'd love to see the chevy fans reactions - who now love him (coz he left Toyota) - if he returned to JGR
Literally my favorite ootg episodes are Monday episodes because of the power rankings lmaoooo
Plus it's just a fun clip in general if you know the backstory to it
If its not In the 18 that replaces the 19 at JGR have him replace Alex bowman in the 48. 18 to 8 to 48 LOL
Bowman is better than Busch at this point in their careers
Bowman got screwed by the atrocious caution for the 31. He easily could have run top 5 with the speed he had.
I still think Kyle to 23XI makes the most sense. Regardless of his attitude he’s a veteran presence in a garage missing it. It reunites him with Toyota. It could be a good fix for 2-3 years while Denny wraps his current contract.
I think Kyle Busch will replace Alex Bowman, eventually.
It would be something if Kyle was able to get back to Joe Gibbs
Not sure if that's going to happen. Who would sponsor him full-time at the rate he was asking in 2022?
@@joshuapboston1999 Based on his performance this year, he may not be asking for that rate anymore if he wants to be in a top-level ride. If he went back to Gibbs, I think it would have to be because he accepts less.
not happing he is with rcr for the rest of his career
Kyle Busch fall off NEEDS to be studied😭😭
A lot of the fall off happened when they limited Cup drivers from running more than 5 races in Xfinity and Trucks. Say what you want about his dominance but track time is track time.
Are you for crying out loud every year they think RCR is going to come back and be a good team and that never happens
I mean it's always the same story let's bring in Kyle Busch, Tyler Reddick, Jeff Green or Mike Skinner
We keep bringing these people thinking this team's going to do anything and it's a complete joke
Was just looking for this!!!!!
His last year at JGR was about the same. Engines blew, tires and toe links broke. It was along the same lines. His passion is gone. Not winning in trucks doesn’t help either.
It's not to hard to see every week that you favor Denny Hamlin if he runs good or not
People may be able to argue about everyone after them, but Larson and Denny at 1 & 2 are about as clearly entrenched in those spots as anyone can ever be.
Kyle Busch to JGR here we go!
Reddick: Screw the deal, I'm out of here one year early!
Busch: Alright, time to jump into that ride and show him what he could have done! Eat my dust, Joe!
* Two years later *
Busch: I've made a huge mistake. [insert "CRY LOVE!"]
