  • JOHN Swinney was mocked by rivals for complaining about the polarisation of Scottish politics - despite admitting he’s contributed to it.
The newly-appointed SNP leader has been on the frontbenches at Holyrood for the majority of the time his party has been in power since 2007.
And he has been involved in several angry exchanges with opposition MSPs, including last week when he lost his cool with Scottish Tory leader Douglas Ross for making a jibe about his “honest John” nickname.
However, in a speech accepting the leadership of the SNP in Glasgow - having stood unopposed for the job - he vowed to adopt a different approach, as he suggested nothing can be achieved by “shouting at people”.

      The projection 😁
Even Labour previously, objectively, was far better at governing Scotland.
      You're a member of a delusional cult.

Eradicate child poverty ?? After 17 years in power, why did they allow child poverty to become a problem. Did they just not notice, or not care? Or is it someone else's fault ? He should be saying that he's willing to accept responsibility for when things go wrong. That would make him stand out from his predecessors.

If he was so interested in eradicating child poverty, perhaps he could start by asking local councils to stop hounding parents for missed Council Tax payments, with threats of Summary
Court Action, Sheriff Officers, and deducting directly at source from wages and benefits. Better still, why is he not abolishing Council Tax, something he promised the Scottish electorate
    he'd do, donkeys years ago.

I see he's removed his east European blue and yellow lapel flag. I wish his constituents would do the same from their gardens. Makes a mockery of the many Scots who fought and died
in the Crimean War in the mid-19th century, Of course most SNP have a contorted memory on Scottish military history.
