Few similarities. True. But INDIA IS WAY DIFFERENT TO THE MIDDLE EAST. Most of those people are Muslim. Whereas, INDIA IS HINDU COUNTRY. Especially us SOUTH Indians don’t have the same culture as Middle East. Our culture/food/Languages are way older and ancient. Only the NORTH INDIANS have similar culture to Middle East bcuz NORTH India was invaded by Islamic people for centuries. Taj Mahal itself is a Mughal architecture.

The Islamic influence in South of India is very less compared to North. Most of the Mughal influence is in Hyderabad. But places like Kerala , there’s Muslims but they are not Mughal influenced. Their culture is very local and Kerala culture and islam came to Kerala from Arab traders. Mughals never invaded Kerala. Even I am a Christian from Kerala, but our culture is sooo hindu. Whereas, The cultures, languages, architecture, food, clothing etc of North Indians are very much influenced by Islamic invasions. Only because they faced more invasions for centuries just due to geography of being in the North-West.

I LOVE THIS SHOW! I’m Hispanic but I relate to so much of this show. I wish I had this show as a teenager. I too felt like I wasn’t Hispanic enough when I was with others of my culture and then I didn’t feel American enough when I was with my friends/schools. I even went through a phase where I didn’t speak Spanish for YEARS. So much so that I started forgetting Spanish. It wasn’t until my 20’s that I started to really figure who I was in terms of my culture and now I’m proud of where I was born and all the other races and ethnicities in my background/family line. This show is great... it’s cute and funny and o will be waiting for the second season! Netflix did really really good with this show!
