- In this tutorial you will discover the possible uses of glycerin. It is a natural product that will be very useful if you are a cardmaker or scapbooker.
It will enable you to refresh your ink pads based on dye based inks, but also to refill your versamark type ink pads or with your watercolor or acrylic paints.
A must have in your craftroom

You did this long ago, but it’s the BEST instructions I’ve found on using glycerine to refresh ink pads. (And I’ve watched alot!)
You cover all the details I was missing!
The other uses of glycerine were just a ln extra gift. Thanks.
Thanks a lot, you gave me what I really wanted to know about which was how to deal with the red rubber stamps that are dry and not stamping well. I had done exactly as you said including storing the in plastic bags for a while. I did massage them too as well as gently use a softer toothbrush to get in the crevices. I use a paint brush to go over the top of the stamp image and then use the brush and then my fingers. Thanks for letting me know I was doing the right procedure and what to expect with my worst ones. I was given a hundred or so just lying in the bottom of a box with a large number of Stampin Up sets I purchased and I hated to throw them away even if they are not a style I like. I want to properly sort, package, and make sure they are usable-even if it is to give away or donate to a good cause. Thanks - no one else discusses it thatI could find.🙏🙂
thanks they are super duper tips about glycerin I,m making my own watercolor paints with mica, and I,m sure that will be one of the must have ingredients so thanks again
You can use glycerin to make a leather like paper...this is really fun. There are some videos on YT about this.
Great tips, thanks so much.
Great information. Never would have thought of it. Thank YOU very much.
Always a pleasure to read you Arleene ! Thank YOU !!
Thank you. Your tips are very helpful. Greetings from Germany
I use VG in vaping and acrylic painting. Hello from Kalamata Gr
Thank you so much for this info. Just started experimenting with stamping and card making and every single ink pad I've bought from local craft stores came dried out. Even the versamark pad was not great new. I thought I was doing something wrong when embossing but what a difference a juicy pad makes. We shouldn't need to refresh brand new ink pads but this is at least an economical solution
Outstanding tips thanks so much loved it🤩🤩
My pleasure Ishmeet and thank You for your nice message !
Excellent tips! I know what I’m doing as soon as it cools down here in so cal!!!!!! DD
Thank you DD very happy it can help !! Have a great week !! 🌺⭐
There is both Vegetable Glycerin AND SYNTHETIC Petroleum based glycerin. When petroleum is distilled, propylene comes off as a top fraction. Glycerin is made by adding chlorine to the molecule. You want the Vegetable Glycerin.
You said it !! I agree for the Vegetable one!
Thank you
Hi, do you know if glycerin with assist with smoothing out dye ink in terms of blending? Say that I have a colour I love and no longer produced but am having a hard time ink blending no matter the technique or tool i use; glycerin?
If I do this, will the image be sticky with the glycerin?
Thanks I just bought some glycerine but didn't use all of it.
Well these tricks are made for you than. Merry Christmas to you and your family !!🎄🎅
Thank you for replying and I hope you have a merry Christmas
My pleasure Isabel, have a great New Year Eve !
Can you use glycerine for resin shakers??
Yes you can !! Much better than water that goes bad over time ! Thank you for the idea !
Can you substitute baby oil?
No these are two complete different products
So, 2 tablespoons of glycerine in a 6 oz bottle and the rest is water is a 1:5 proportion. One ounce of glycerine to 5 ounces of water. Thanks!
Et tu l'as ratée !!!??
Yep. If anyone wants all the information listed that glycerine can be used for in your crafting go to The Frugle Crafter. She made this exact video 8 years ago. Five years before this video. She's your go to for everything you need to know in your craft room and demos nearly everything that's out there. Thx.
Look, I’m a HUUUUUGE of Lindsay TheFrugalCrafter too, but she wouldn’t approve of yucking on someone else’s yum… we can all learn from lots of people … it’s meant to be all about the joy of crafting 🤗🤗🤗
I always go to the FC 1st, but your way of explaining here was easier for me to get this down, somehow. So you are absolutely right in saying we learn from many crafters.
@@cazkiwinz4300, right, I've asked TFC questions and gotten direct responses... I can't imagine her being upset for another crafter to using the same techniques and showing them. To me, that's like saying, the person who created the very 1st chair should be the only one to get credit of ALL chairs in history; silly.
Hello,
I am taken a bit a back after watching this video not even all the way though.
I am not sure if it was intentional but The frugal crafter, Lindsay, put this IDENTICAL video out 5 years before you put it out. I just mention it because, you follow her video and its topics, and suggestions (besides your OXIDE ink interjection)..
If it was not intentional - wow, thats is next level uncannily weird right? But if it, maybe you saw it first and thought you might re release her video. Perhaps an edit to let viewers know that you borrowed the content? Its good tips regardless, and its good people got something out of her information.
Well anyway, no intention to offend. But had to mention the glaring issue here.
