The Aftermath of colonial era slavery has also left damaging effects on the mental & emotional health of many former enslaved and indentured peoples across the globe. Those families currently whose wealth is tied to slavery and indentured servitude should pay either reparations or compensation for lost wages.

@humans is carbon made They were trading even before Europeans did that. Because in India we have history of buying them especially from the Arabs. They were mostly black Africans especially during Muslim rules.
And instead the fact is, it was Europeans who finally stopped it.

@@angelbythewings nope, slavery was a fact of human life in every society on the planet from day one, the British were the ones who abolished it, for moral reasons, black people should be grateful to them rather than bash them, if it had been anyone else, we'd still have slavery. And having been a British colony to this day positively correlates with GDP and the biggest hellholes are Haitis and Liberias of this world that haven't been colonized.

I still remembers saying that Arabs should be occupied by Turkey and Iran. Because I thought that Turks were nice to Arabs. And I got replies from Arab not in a nice way. But I learned the history of Turks I found it remarkably same as what British did to India.
Did it mean I hate British?? The answer is no because the thing is they acknowledge their mistakes, their crimes. Though common British still thinks that they helped India by colonizing it.
That makes them different from Turkey.
