It is a v8 those are usually not quiet.
Probably has the loud button activated. I have a 3.0 S F-Type manual, it's pretty quiet in normal mode but when in loud mode it is quite aggressive.
The fact that an SUV from 2014 still looks that good and performs well compared to all the newer offerings shows how the automotive industry is coming to a circle.

It doesn't take a lot nowadays to look good. Every company now is too interested tiny and powerful LED headlights and rear strips along with extremely huge grills and hard angles all around. Just simple flowing curves is something companies like BMW are really shying away from.
I drove one of these along with the F-Type SVR at a Jaguar driving event a few years ago and I still think about it often. That V8 is so raucous.

I own an SVR (2023) and an FType R (2022) and I am probably the happiest I have ever been. Always something fun to drive! Not the fastest on the road but still hella fun.

I've had a '23 since May, glad to see this savage beast get some love. Absolutely bananas! My daughter and I look forward to every drive and every opportunity to make it howl. Probably and sadly the last car like this that we'll have the opportunity to enjoy the way the world and climate is turning.
I think this is one of the best looking SUVs out…this and the Aston. I love this engine too it sounds sorta like a 392 hemi to me

This car sounds absolutely amazing. We got one for my 72 year old mom who grew up driving the muscle cars her brother built and she whips that thing 😂 I've put as many miles on it as she has because its one of the best sounding cars on the road! Weve had it since 2018 and that model has the most insane backfire crackles and pops to add to this beautiful orchestra

How’s the reliability holding up for her? That’s my only reservation on getting one myself.
@@dustingre8 she's doing very well! Had a weird issue with the infotainment early on but took it to the dealership and they fixed it, never been an issue since!
You guys are so lucky in the US/Canada, you get much better stock exhausts, sounds so much better than the EU version 👍

Jaguar is giving the F-Pace one last hoorah before it’s all said and done. They just launched a 575 edition with 567hp (25 more than the base SVR)

@@Jagger2020 I would imagine it would be because it was introduced after the 24MY was already on sale. The F type ZP edition will probably be 25MY as well. Sadly our dealership won’t see any of them as we gave up the Jaguar allocation back in June

The AJ-V8 engine is pretty good. After 2013 they fixed the timing chain guide issue. The AJ-V8 Gen III has been around since 2009. Make sure to change the oil often and you shouldn't have a problem. The Engine is such a pleasure to drive, i used to have one. Great low end torque that is usable on regular driving conditions.
Easily my favorite SUV. They also have this AMAZING yellow color that is stunning. If I ever needed an SUV this would be it. Nothing compares.

I was behind a red one yesterday where I live in CT, I’m positive the older guy had no idea what he was driving. The exhaust sounds so amazing at like 25 mph 😍
When I got mine I picked up a relative from the train station, they said that a jag is a old man's car, I agreed as I'm old. I switched to dynamic and gave the SVR the beans, the look on their face was hilarious.
Oh man, those tap-tap-tap pops were just golden.
I just bought one. And added a TDI Tuning kit. Holy sh*t!!! This thing is scary! The engine snarls, spits and crackles every time I press the gas in dynamic mode. I could see people 50 feet away turning their heads when they hear me coming. Best $$$ I ever spent on a car. If you can afford one get one! 👍🏾!
How much money should someone make a year to be able to afford this? What would you say?
They aren’t high in cost bro. In comparison to the BMW X5M competition which is faster and more plush luxury than this. IMO jaguar is not on the level as BMW, Audi and Mercedes. It’s on the Lexus, Acura and Infiniti level.
Pricing is insane given what this competes with. Hard to justify any other brands against a Supercharged V8! especially on this price range when everything else is closer to $110-120K+. You can even select special colors (on the US configurator) that still keep the SVR in the low six figures.
Best sounding SUV currently on the market hands down

As a Jaguar XF owner for the last five years, I can’t wait to upgrade into one of these. One of the last great sounding engines available in any consumer segment.
PS Jaguar reliability is not nearly as bad as ppl think. It’s European, yes, and it’s not a Toyota, but it’s not noticeably better or worse than any Audi or Benz imo.
This review persuaded me to go and buy the SVR, I don't regret it, it's fantastic and fun to drive. It's a keeper for sure.

Holy crap! The SVO colour options are now $10k for this last model year haha - I got my Petrolix Blue for $2500 and my MSRP was $112k compared to the exact same spec hitting $131k CAD on Jag’s online configurator now haha. Hope that boosts my pre-owned sale price…

The “silver” paint is Eiger grey. Big news in the UK, at least, is that the car is now the P575 Edition with the full 575 horse power version of this engine. I think you guys need to test that one soon! I’m just going out in mine to get some running-in miles done (3000km required)…..

Modern brake pads don't outgas in a way that require drilled/slotted rotors, that means the rotors can have more surface area and better braking.
Had mine for over a yr. Best SUV under 200k!

the fact that this SUV is from 2024, I think it still looks and performs well compared to current SUVs from 2023.
I have the p400 and it's so much fun to drive I can only imagine how much better the svr is.

Yea… the price. Eliminate all electronic crap, add a manual 6spd, shed 500lbs+ . This would cut the price by $35k+ and improve every aspect of this V8.
Awesome SVR. Thank goodness this is a non Hybrid or EM with this motor. The way a V8 should be. It would be a tough choice between this and V8 Porsche Cayanne S. You both seemed very happy to testing this SUV today.

I love my 2029 f Pace SVR. Super rare in the UK, only about 1500 of them. Sounds and looks so much better than six cylinder alternatives. Favourite gear, third. Punchy even at low revs, and the torque goes up and up as you get faster.
HELL YEAH, it’s better than Mercedes, no fake sound, no fake exhaust, no fake air-intakes

When it comes to the price at the end, what they’re not telling you is that jaguars are notoriously expensive to fix the long-term reliability issues.
Oh same old fairy tale… compared to its competition, the f pace placed 15th out of 32 in SUV reliability reviews and came out on top of audi and volvo (just behind bmw).
Huh? Jags come with a 5 year/60k mile warranty that includes free scheduled maintenance. Better than anything else in the segment.
If I had any chance of owning one it would have to be preowned because the resale values of these are like falling off a cliff at least where I’m from…

My salesguy at Jaguar keeps telling me Jaguar is going all electric and they will stop putting out the F-Pace SVR model. Looks to me like they keep putting it out. SMH!!! I have the 2021 F-Pace SVR and wouldn't mind getting the 2025 when the time comes.
Cars like this are probably sadly in their last few years now thanks to EVs. This is truly saddening but at least one is going out with crackle and pops. The electric of an EV will never compare to a symphony a crackle and pops of a performance engine as exquisite as this fine beauty. Live on live on through our hearts and memories for you'll be missed when you are gone but never forgotten, friend

I had a 2022 Range Rover SVR, which is pretty much a better version of the F-Pace SVR and now own a 2024 BMW X5M Competition. The BMW is better in every single way. Loved the RR SVR but it's not even in the same league as the rest of the performance SUV offerings currently out.
I have the same SUV, just built it and delivered two months ago. The BMW X5M comp puts this to sleep, in every facet, especially in the interior which is so much more plush luxury. The jaguar is a step down in luxury from the BMW and Mercedes. The exhaust may sound better a bit and that’s about it.

As a Jag fan since i was a kid im actually really disapointed with them for totally screwing up the F-type and the F-pace by watering the sound down. It was a sound that brought a smile to my face just like a kid. It just doesnt sound like a jag and now it sounds pretty much like everything else. Id rather buy a used older F-type SVR than a new one. What really pisses me off is that they want to do away with the ICE engines. For that will be when Jag ceases to exist for me. Its a totally stupid path while so many makers are doing an about turn on going full retard (electric). Jag could take a page out for the Maserati playbook if they want to keep offering electric car and offer both options
