  • The BEST way to shred cardboard. MONEY saving, a great workout and very eco friendly #northuist
    Welcome back all,
As you know I have a fair amount of birds at the moment. Lots of mulch is needed to keep up with their daily needs.
I used a lot of hay which is great but it comes with pollen and other unwanted seeds from where ever it’s come from.
So we put our heads together and bought this beautiful machine :)
I do hope you enjoy the vlog and consider subscribing for more fun.
    Peace and hugs xx

You could probably benefit from a tree like a mesquite that goes from a huge tree to a stub at ground level to a huge tree again in two to three years… if mesquite can survive there, and they might, they go dormant in winter, they are very low water use and should easily survive off naturally precipitation there.

That can also chop greens for feeding your birds. There are cutters with larger openings for slicing turnips for cattle feed.

Brilliant. Richard Perkins uses a motorized version of this, and uses it to cut material for his compost.

That's a great piece of equipment. I was trying to find a manual solution to cardboard shredding earlier this year, I wish I'd seen this. I generally end up just soaking it in water and tearing it into pieces to add to the compost, but this method is much better and gives a uniform end product. I'd probably try and rig up a belt so I could use pedal power though! I'll have to search for one now. Thanks, interesting channel.

I agree with you on the news and prices 100%. And I would absolutely love one of those but... I think where I'm from a cardboard Shredder would be more affordable but I'll definitely keep my eyes open for one cuz that's cool as hell.👍

Personally I would add a motor to that, maybe a bracket to mount an angle grinder fitted with a rubber tyred wheen on the edge of the flywheel?
That machine has travelled a long way from it's birthplace, Maldon is in Essex England, I know it well, a nice town. Maldon salt comes from there ;-)

I’m surprised you don’t have a lot more followers! Really good videos :-) subscribed! I’ve been looking all over the UK for land to create a self sustainable homestead and came across crofting in Scotland, have you purchased a registered Croft or a piece of land?

Cheers for joining the journey 😊 we’ve bought a registered Croft. Was pretty straight forward and they want you work the land. So living on it if it’s possible to do so is encouraged.
If you need any advice, give us a shout 😊👊🏿
