Punk does not have to back up anything like Cody rhodes or drew or seth. These guys are a generation after punk. Punk already proved it 10 years ago with his long title reign and even before that with SES that he is one of the best.
What has he done lately?
@@Jimquivious He has one of the best storyline with drew despite being injured. He is the top merch seller in wwe and his segments get the highest rating, he is still the most over wrestler in the company. He is 45 years old, he does not have to prove anything at this age and he still does.

It's just that cm Punk pipebomb overshadows everything including he's in ring work... He was Vince's work horse like Cena even before pipebomb...

Coming to his aew run.. I don't blame him.. Majority of aew stars has been getting injured every month and Dave meltzer even said they can't do long term storytelling with this rate of injuries...

Look at where Aew was when punk was there and look at the state of it currently. Is there any comparison to the feuds he had with MJF, Eddie Kingston etc in Aew?? The dude constantly elevates everyone he works with. Drew McIntyre was a guy no one gave a crap about 6 months ago, and just one feud with Punk without a single match has already put him on another level. How can one deny this? It absolutely baffles me

Hey, Punk vs Jeff Hardy never happened. The Straight Edge Society never happened. Punk vs Mysterio never happened. Punk vs Jericho never happened. Punk vs Lesner and Taker never happened. It was all Pipebomb and Cena. Also, Standard Aew stuff. Punk vs MJF was anything but standard. The Company never had a feud of that calibre before Punk and hadn't had one even after him. Even injured the best thing on TV has been his feud with Mcintyre who hasn't been this hot in his entire career. You don't like Punk. No issues. But revisionism on his career is not the way to go cause it makes you look absolutely stupid.

Punk at a 6 is as good as anyone else on their best day is outrageous.
A better way to express it, is that Punk's average level may well be higher than anyone, because he sits almost exclusively in say a 7-10 out of 10 range.
Other guys might range between like a 5-10, there's some meh and some great. I don't know if Punk ever really cuts bad promos because he's always got his ducks in a row when he goes out there, he can remember like a 10-15 minute narrative without much difficulty consistently.
But he's far from untouchable, it just depends on the day. And I would also double down that his feud with MJF was probably the best one AEW has had, so there was him backing it up.

Punks promo's since returning to wwe have all been forgettable lmfao. even right now there are multiple people in wwe who can do better promo's than punk can. best part is, those same people CAN ACTUALLY BACK IT UP. Hes been living off the pipebomb for over a decade at this Point. he was never "the best in the world" despite claiming that. hell hes never even been top 5.
Yet he made plenty of money off of it and was one of the longest reigning WWE Champions at 434 days so he was doing something right than just talking. I don't want to start an argument on things just stating where certain aspects are laid out.
