It feels like in bar 31 you are playing the quaver (G) (eighth-note) slightly longer and then recovering it during the crescendo, so you are not just increasing volume, but by recovering that time you also increase the speed building into something epic. At least that's how my untrained ear heard it... I am trying to do something similar, because I think it sounds amazing. I love the violin
Hi! It's very true and it's good that you point it out! We call that "rubato" (in Italian literally means stolen). The idea is to steal a little of time for one part but at the end you need to compensate so you don't get permanently slower. It's one of the ways to have phrasing in music and what makes it unique it's that everyone can do it differently because we feel the music in different ways.
