What’s happening in this Skyline movie clip?
Jarrod and Elaine are on a rooftop watching the military try and fail at fighting the aliens. A chopper gets blown out by an alien tanker. Soldiers try to fire rockets at it but the operation is a failure.
What’s the movie Skyline about?
In the sci-fi thriller Skyline, strange lights descend on the city of Los Angeles, drawing people outside like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire human population off the face of the Earth.
The story starts when Jarrod and his wife Elaine arrive in Los Angeles, California for Jarrod's best friend Terry's birthday party. They celebrate with Terry's wife, Candice, and his assistant, Denise. The morning following the party, blue lights descend from the sky, hypnotizing anyone who looks at them. The light causes people to become zombie-like and immobilized; they are then collected by the light machines. A fight for survival begins for the group of friends who will do whatever it takes to protect each other.
Skyline is directed and produced by the Brothers Strause (Alien vs. Predator: Requiem), whose company Hydraulx has provided visual effects for numerous blockbusters such as Avatar.

I think so that in real life if an Alien race can travel many light years to reach here to earth they most definitely have the Technology to nullify any attack that we throw at them. Coming to the aliens in this movie, well they seem like they are pretty dumb and all, in reality they would be wiped out by a single missile like TRIDENT.
If the aliens had a biological issue., Like say they have in the past used technology to advance their genes , that may cause then to need to harvest other genetic donors. Simply because their evolution has stopped through normal processes and used assimilation instead. They wouldn't want to destroy their"farm". As for them seeming stupid, it's an old tactic. If you were to lay siege to a village with such overwhelming force. with no hope of the village winning, the villagers would in turn just kill the women and children themselves rather than surrender them to be hurt and enslaved. The men too would just poison the well themselves making it a spoilt fruit. Lastly it may cause them to be so desperate to embolden them to fight with such rage and courage the overwhelming force may be thwarted. That is why in boxing when you're close to winning it is sometimes done that fighters pretend to be tired. So as to give the opponent hope and take more risks. Unknowing that you have just been baiting him. Peace.
But they hit the alien mothership with a nuclear missile and it just reassembled itself. You see that occuring at 1:08

We don't know how they got here. If they don't have FTL technology then their trip could have taken decades, centuries or even thousands of years. The used technology would have to be simple enough that it can last the whole trip or that it can be manufactured along the way. Also we don't know about their motive. For example if we detected that the Sun would hit nova in 50 years from now..we would have generational ships going for potential planets. Since technology would have to last for so long..it would be relatively simple.
Let's say their homeworld is 500 light years away and they can reach 50% of the speed of light. If they had pointed their telescopes towards Earth when they departed they would have seen it as it was in early 6th century; just after Roman Empire fell. Could they even detect any sign of intelligent life on Earth?
..or maybe alien invasion could be some sort of reality TV for aliens? They would send their worst individuals with no preparation and proper gear to invade a planet?

Excuse me! Couldn't that guy just hide a bomb inside the alien ship and blackmail them to leave? If it could work on the FBI then how hard would it be for blood thirsty alien bent on human extinction!
Any human caught inside of the alien sphere will just be mutilated by alien. Never knew about the FBI thing. Can anybody enlight me?.
