We did laundry while we boondocked at the Q but only the wash cycle. At that time we had 1200watts with five lithium batteries and a Magnum inverter it couldn’t handle the heat side so now I installed the Victron Multiplus and going to try it again the next time we boondock. Great information thanks for sharing friends. Stay safe in your travels.👍👏🇺🇸🥑❤️

Hi guys..I think you are correct...if you get in a bind you can do a little bit of laundry boondocking...but it is not practical...might be better to just go to a laundry place and get it all done at once...it's not the power problem..solar or generator...it's the water ... Replenishing and emptying...stay safe..thanks ..

I agree that seems like alot of water being used for washing clothes. I had an awwwhaaaa moment a few weeks ago. How dirty are our clothes really. Our farm chore cloths are filthy but our other clothes really just need freshened up. I started using my fast wash cycle with great success on our less dirty things. Laundry takes alot less time now. Just a thought ...

Just finished watching this episode, and had a thought about water use during laundry.
I use a water meter on my water input to our 5th wheel to measure the amount of water loaded before a trip.
If you used one while hooked up a a campsite, it would give you a pretty good idea of water usage..

Then with my Bobcat smooth out some sites / install a small septic tank maybe... and repeat all up the country from Az to Montana, that way we can have a "Home Base if needed and find good weather & 70 degrees 365...... what ya think ?

Old school way to get the actual gallons. Is to drain your gray tank with 5 gallon bucket. You have a valve. Fill it and then dump it.

Hey there. I didn't keep a super close eye on the electrical data but we were in good sun and our solar peaked at about 1600 watts with both washer and dryer running. We used zero % of our batteries because we had full sun so that's cool. if you wanted to know how much fuel you used on a 200 mile trip, you would look at the reading on the fuel pump when you filled up. If you wanted to know power consumption, you would take a reading on a killawatt meter.........so go buy a $15 water meter for your water hose and get real results,
