Hey mate, just unbolt the bracket off the engine to get your shackle off, too easy. Just dm me for shipping info on that merch pack 👌
Hahaha I see what you did there
😂👌🏼
Nice work lads. Jealous. Wish I’d did the conversion to my 105 instead of selling it.
After tightening the engine mounts undo the gearbox mount on the crossmember and jack the gearbox up at the back should give you just enough room to undo the shackle
I'm sure you'll get it sorted but I've installed a BCDC1225D in my car and depending on what battery type you're running you need to join the correct wires together to put it in the dedicated profile for that battery, no auto detection in these so it won't know what you have 👍🏻
Love the content keep up the good work Sam!!!
Wish i had a mate like you to help me build a 4x4.... Nice work mate !
@5.27 use grease, works alot better than bread because it doesn't compress, exact same method tho with grease 🧐😊
This was my obviously filmed ages ago, patrol is still white
Nice one love ur vids keep going and have a great day
Sam, try and mount the BCDC1225D as close to the aux battery as possible, will run more efficiently and monitor the six battery without less voltage drop
Cool, my old gq had a changeover system for sub main.
mint video bro love all of them !!!!
Since your subtank is much larger than the main tank you run the risk of turning the transfer pump on and forgetting about it, if you link the two fill necks with a 12 mm hose on the tank side of the breather pipes, when the main tank is full to the link pipe it will simply overflow back down the subtank fill neck stopping the main from overflowing.
Got the cabin filter thing right. We just drove the track home and we had jack shit air coming out the air con vents.
Hey Sam. Was watching Ur show. Last nite. Fell asleep an I found myself talking 2 u in my dreams bout cars ayy haha
Excellent tip about the cabin filter. Pity the 105 doesn't have one!
Your in WA for Christmas 🎄👍🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻
good job man live your vids
gday mate, the red arc bcdc doesnt like heat... has a thermal cut out in the unit.... best to mount in the front behind the grill. when touring/towing in hot climates, that engine bay will get hot, the unit will stop working out at 70 -80 degrees by memory. its in the manual.
Probably should read the manuals more 😅
@@speyles I used to fit them in engine bays all the time mate, suburbs of Melbourne you don't really have an issue... I moved a tad North and started to see issues arise on farms in extreme heat conditions.
Love the flip flop Health and Safety
Regarding the removal of the "D shackle", there are 2 methods that you could try.
1. White bread, to push the pin out.
2. You could try pushing the white bread through the "D" hole. This is completely useless, other than making a mess & wasting bread that has next to no nutrition in it.
3. Cut out the fire wall with a butter knife,& the "D" shackle should be then removable. Re make the fire wall completely out of white bread, making sure you pass it through the "D shackle 1st. The advantage of this method is no grinding or welding required.
I forgot to mention with method 1, care must be taken not to stripe the thread on the pin.
You can't just jam the bread in there (uno like some do with some Ladies that really aren't Ladies) as with that spacer removal from the engine that you detailed. The bread's path must be helical.
@@leonkane8240 You're a supreme pressure cooker mate
Where can I get a hold of one of these engine harnesses for this conversion
I use grease and a socket for the spicket bearing.. works a treat
lol fkn bread
I just use the puller for it much easier and faster best $60 if spent
😂... because the fte uses a lot more fuel... if that were true no one would want the fte. Thats not why it uses 12mm lines.
In bolt the engine lift point from the intake will get it out
your in your old mans shed and you are there to continue working on your brothers HQ ute and I believe specifically building a new tray for it
I reckon for the d shackle get a screw driver thru the hole to crack ittt
remove the bracket the shackle is attached to. unbolt the gearbox off the cross-member and lift the gearbox up a little bit, bringing the shackle away from the firewall.
I think Sam needs to drive big red in a Christmas special!!!
Who’s car!? 🙋♂️🙋♂️
@@speyles yours!
@@speyles your mate. I'll tag alone in my gu 👌👌
@@soundslikeaplan841 NATD42? I'm pretty sure old mate sold it
Chubbs Nar mines a 06 factory turbo diesel 4.2
Don’t you want to put the bcdc charger near the aux battery not starter battery?
force bar soap into the bearing. Motortrend taught me that trick.
Need to make the content longer mate. Should you also clean around the fuel tank before you take out the fuel sender? Enjoy the channel 👌
Where did you purchase the 12mm fuel line? I can't seem to find any online
the way you do that cover is to work out how?
Mate I been looking for 1997 80 series haft for a while not there are far to over priced an was looking to buy petrol than convert it to ft...fte would it be worth it
Leave it there for next time 😂
I've been looking for fuel tank senders for a 75 troopy 1hdft conversion. Can't find them anywhere or the part number. Anybody help !!
So when do we actually get to see it finished???
isn't the aftermarket sub tank possibly 140litres making it bigger than the 95l main so when you fill sub to main it will pour out the filler neck if you are not watching???
Doesn't matter that it's bigger, but in the Patrol system the transfer pump cuts out when the target main tank is full or almost full. Never bothered to study how it knows, possibly from the fuel gauge sender voltage.
@@einfelder8262 but its all Landcruiser bits with a one way valve it doesn't know when its full like a patrol plus being an ex 1fzfe it should still have carbon canister and everything unless its been removed. i must be seriously missing something here.
@@danthewookiechewy9555 I agree, I don't think they have any failsafe way to prevent overflow. Maybe they will feed the transfer pump flow below the main tank overflow but above the aux tank filler. That way when the main is full the pump will just circulate from aux to aux indefinitely till the driver notices and turns it off. Carbon canister is removed, not used in a diesel.
Just wondering if there’s any certain specs you need for the bread? Like obviously you used wonder white, but I’m a bit of a tip top boy, (I’m a savage I know), will that work? 😂
Who did you use for the wiring harness?
Are you guys running an intercooler on it?
Can’t wait to see it done ✅
What intercooler are you using?
Hey Sam, a bcdc charger charges up to 25 amps for your 12v system. Not 25 volts. But I knew what you meant. Haha.
Where did you source the engine from?
Probably won't be read but can anyone tell me a rough price of a 1hdfte swap in a 105 just wondering if turbo 1hz or swap
Use the bread for the D shackle 😂
Undue bolt holding chain to D shackle, then find someone with small hands to reach back and unscrew the main d shackle holding bolt. Should have wiggle room if chain is not on it.
Undo the lift bracket from the engine and sort it out from there 👌
Nice build did you keep the original 1fz dash cluster or did you use one from a hdj100 series?
That motor n box is out of a hdj79 that's why the cluster is opposite
Hey Sam, Did you think of the Unleaded filler neck is smaller than the Diesel one? :) Keep up the good work!
If the sub tank feeds main tank you shouldnt need to upsize the feed line to main tank
Pull in the front of the motor and the mounts will move because there’s no transmission on the back so the motor sags back
Surely we se a 6bt video one day.
Thrashlux is the man to go to for your fte conversion harness. he done mine for 79 series fte into 105 series . Would be hard to find some one with more knowledge and experience . He is a genius , and couldn’t be more helpful .
Where abouts is he located mate?
He is in Northside’s of brisbane
I found him through the Lcool website
and to save you a trip to the corner shop, use grease instead of bread :P
Maybe a silly question but would of it been easier to SAS a 100 series than do the conversion?
I think you’ll find that answer in how many sassed 100s there are compared to fte 105s
Hey Sam I heard you say you used a 1hz bell housing what flywheel did you use
Cheers
Looks like a Excedy tuff clutch and they are just a 1hz clutch can’t run an fte clutch if you use a 1hz bell housing
Can you drop this in 96 FJ 80?
Grease for the spiggot bearing.
You should make a bnb mechanic business
Your in Perth 👌👌
You should ask CZcams to jam more ads into your videos. More ads than the cricket
What is the name of the song that starts playing at 14:00
Who knew you could pop bearings out with ya left over crusts 🍞 see Mum there’s a reason not to eat ya crusts 😂
I still didn’t wanna use the crust... 😂

Who is the supplier who makes the harnesses? I keep hearing "thrashlikes".

Leave the shackle on, adds an extra 20hp
grease works too
Where did you get the 12mm lines from?
Tubeworx is brissy
Did yous notice that Sam put the cabin fitter in wrong
Pull the cab off to get the shackle off. Easy Peasy
You’re at your parents place in Perth probably something to do with zacs hq or something to do with churchy
anyone else notice how long ago this must have been filmed for it to still have the white patrol no wrap
So im interested in this as been looking at my 80 series 1fz-fe swap to a 1hdfte
So please what it the price tag involved for a built not bought conversion
14:40 25v charger for the 12v battery?....
I think he’s means it’s 12v 25 amp
Look up pollack valve cheaper option than factory
That bearing trick, use a soap bar next time
Geez, surely you could have pressure washed the fuel tanks before you put them back in? 🤔😄
Has anyone actually noticed when he looks at in the camera He's got the facial complexion of Post Malone 🤣🤣🤣
are you one Day gonna buy a diesel patrol or landcruiser i want to der you drive and own one
Good to see you wearing your Taiwanese workshop safety boots 😂🇦🇺
How'd you get the bread out
Pet chicken will do it.
There’s few questionable things here that’s wasted time and money 😂 but he’ll that’s how we Learn
Unbolt the engine lift point lol
True bread
1HZ petrol engine? never seen one of those.
When are you doing the 80s build
Next one in line!!
Mind blown who even figures out you can get bearings out with bread though 😶
Someone who had been working on it for days and happened to be eating a ham sandwich when he finally snapped - just started bashin it into the recess.
Unbolt the engine lift plate off head to remove shackle
Sam going diesel?! crazy ahahaha if you need help my man let me know i'm a mechanic in the gc and I know a bit about the 4x4 mechanic lyfe
Remove the mount, take off the shackle then bolt the mount back up....
If you paint the shackle then it was never there
Unbolt the lift bracket from the engine
Bro I did the tire change challenge at the black bear expo and I beat my brother
Drop the gearbox rear mount
You can get a whole loaf of bread in behind an LS1 spigot bearing... ask me how I know.
