Its impressive how much you can get out of the PC speaker
How exactly?
@@randomyt666it's just a single square wave channel, the speaker is actually attached through a transistor to the output of a hardware timer. The only parameter to be adjusted by the composer is the frequency of the tone being played by the speaker. Doing this rapidly enough can generate music, or even PWM samples.

@@MichaelsHardware in 8 bit computers sound chips had channels that produced sound. I am no expert, but I heard that one of these channels was dedicated to producing noise which was often used as snares and other things (I think NES sound chip had that). Was surprised to hear snares on a pc speaker

How? Is it running while BIOS is operating or can you control those buzzers without explicitly logging into BIOS?

It's possible to send signals to the PC speaker at basically any time the system is powered on, be it in BIOS or Windows (Or any other OS).
It used to be a lot of people's sound device after all 😋
