But there are many Filipinos just like her. Our culture and the media tends to overlook and ignore them.
I wonder what is your concept of a typical beauty for many Filipinos? For me, she's the perfect typical beauty, brown skinned, glad she didn't listen to the commercials of whitening products. Full pouting lips, no need for a collagen refillers, cute dimples. What could be possibly are needed? Aside from her intelligence and elegance.

People mistook me for being black my whole life; many Filipinos would be confused as to why I’m so dark as a Filipino, even though both of my parents are Filipino. I’m not even black and I’ve met other filipinos who i thought were Indian but were just darker than ME 😅
But there are black filipina, and there are Filipinos out there dark skinned like
her that are easily overlooked. Ironically, you feel this way, but is Pia Wurtzbach still fine? Celeste Cortesi passes? Maryj Lastimosa gets accepted?
The only difference with Chelsea is that she’s half black…. She was born and raised in the Philippines and fluent in Tagalog, which most queens aren’t. Most are usually a foreigner, to begin with. If anything, she embodies a true Filipina. Why don’t you leave the big city for once… dark skinned Filipinos exist in the communities you pushed out for modernism.

May mga kayumangging Pilipino, pero parang hindi mo pa naranasan ang iba pang mga kulay ng kayumanggi. Ang colorism mo ay itinutulak sila palayo. Nagsasalita si Chelsea para sa marami na pinili mong balewalain.

It’s not about being dark skin it’s the ethnicity. How we look with The African Or the indigenous. Venus is dark but half Indian. We don’t look Down of Indian Beauty in our country. A lot of them are dark but we see them as beautiful Janicel is Dark the The one dark Filipina that I admire is Miss Eva Reyes Reyes 1974 Miss Republic of the Philippines and Miss World semi. Jennifer Cortez and Maria Isabel is dark or Olive skin. Beauty Pageant has come along way. Nuon HS ako in early 70’s pinagtatawanan ung mga candidate from Africa ng mga Pinoys. Hindi yung Dark Skin Ni Bulacan ung pagiging African American nia na kinukumpara natin sa mga indegenous
