- Leatherwood Outdoors 2017 Flintlock Deer. Follow John as he films his wife Danielle hunt for whitetail deer during the early muzzleloader season in Clarion county Pennsylvania. The couple hunts for several days seeing lots of animals including several nice bucks. On Day 4 Danielle gets her chance at a nice big doe and makes a perfect shot. Congrats to Danielle on her 3rd deer ever and first deer with a flintlock!
Seeing a flintlock being used as a effective tool, blows my mind. Thumbs up for getting it done the old way with old tools, and showing how well they work in the right hands. thumbs up

Way 2 Go Danielle, that is really impressive. I'm a Bowhunter of 40 years and enjoy a little black powder hunting too and have a flintlock hunt on my bucket list. You made it look so easy and fun. I have 0 percent chance of making a better shot.wowwww

congrats to ya!! my wife got first archery deer this early season.. 8 pt buck. lol. i have been hunting 6 yrs with flintlock. nothin but trees yet. lol. great job

Nice Danielle! Congrats! John, you have to be very proud of that young lady. She's a trooper. Not many women would go out several days in a row to try to get a deer. Definitely a keeper. Now Danielle, how about another recipe video? You need a series on the Leatherwood channel showing recipes. Hopefully CZcams won't flag it. Of coarse they flagged my smoking dove video but left the dove hunting video alone. Again, congrats!

Way to go Danielle! My wife's second deer was with an inline muzzleloader. You handled it a lot better than I did. I was about to have a heart attack waiting for my wife to shoot. Great hunt!

Great video. Great job young lady.👍 I have the 54 cal early Virginia style TVM. Matt got it finished after hunting season now iam waiting until this season to take it hunting. The 1st night home I slept with it wife was not happy but o well lol. TVM is truly one of the best builders not only beautiful but tack drivers also.

Thanks for giving the range to the deer, the caliber and powder type and charge, even though I have hunted deer for many years all info makes for better hunts.

I think I know now why, at least partly, why ancestors of mine from both sides of the family shrub settled in what became York and Lancaster Counties in South Carolina, and what are still the more rural areas of Mecklenburg, Union and Anson Counties in North Carolina....Those areas looked like "home" to them.....As in Pennsylvania. Which may also explain, to a very small degree, my recent/renewed interest in "long rifles". Great video of an excellent hunt! Keep 'em comin'! And congratulations to Danielle on a very nice, eatin' size, deer!

I am from Pennsylvania and I just started watching you guys last year. I am glad to see that you are back at it this year. Great shot with the flintlock Danielle. I killed a few deer with a flintlock and let me tell you it's tough. I started self filming this year and managed to get one kill on film. Check it out if you get a chance.
BTW do you know how to tell if a hunter is a flintlock hunter?

The reason she ran so far is it was a little too far back,
more gut shot, although one blood photo it looked like blood from the lungs.
I like a high shoulder shot myself.
I use a H&A underhammer in 50Cal round ball and have shot a Falloe doe at 120m
and was a threw & threw.
But still fantastic so, well done.
Great video man as always! I been out bow hunting here in somerset county and the bucks have been active chasing doe getting close to the rut can't wait. Good luck to you and your wife the rest of the season be safe and kill a big one or a big doe!

What kind of flintlock do you have and where did you get it? I see a lot of these muzzleloader vids from PA and everyone has these awesome beautiful flintlocks. I would appreciate the help if you can
The flintlock in this video is a TVM ( Tennessee Valley Muzzleloader )
