    Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one third of the time. Good luck, Bill!"

    Australia basically became Independent in 1901 but technically we didn't. Still, our government doesn't ask for the queen's advice in the matter of law making ect anymore so thats Independent to me

    • @EmmaAppleBerry
      @EmmaAppleBerry Před 6 lety +2

      Actually we still get the queens stamp of approval and she had the power to dissolve parliament etc basically she can pull the mum card if we get to mental or she really doesnt like a law or whatever we pass. The governer general speaks on her behalf i think atm its julie bishop anyway shes consider the queens rep and gives the crown stamp of approval but nowadays it is mostly formality and the queen doesnt really exercise the power at all more like a figurehead but you know its not a bad thing and id still say where independant being in alliance under the commonwealth like canada doesnt make us less independant it just makes us smarter not to burn our bridges for the sake of 'freedom' or the illusion of independence. No nation of earth is ever truly independent will all rely on the same earth and people to make our lives worth existing. Our money with the queen on it is the best in the world technologically its easy to use and the hardest to counterfeit.
